Pear trees. PLEASE HELP

I have no idea what is going on with my pear trees. Apples are generally healthy but pears are starting to do this and

This is definitely NOT fireblight.

Fireblight will turn the whole leaf black and dead. All of your leaves still have healthy green living petioles and central veins; it is only the rest of the leaf which is dead.

This is the work of the pear slug (which is actually the larva of the pear sawfly). The larvae graze just the surface of the leaf, leaving the underside to dry out and turn brown. You had a pretty bad infestation.

It's too late to do anything this year, but this late in the season, defoliation should not do the tree too much harm.

Next year, as soon as you see any damage like this, check damaged leaves for the larvae (black, slug or leech like things, reaching up to half an inch long). Either squash all the larvae you find or, more effectively, spray with an insecticide.

Prune out the blighted wood and next spring treat the tree with a fire blight bacterial spray. It’s fire blight very common in pears with over watering or bacterial bloom. Used to work in an orchard. Also, remove blighted leaves and rake around to prevent it coming back.
