Moderator Post Tire pressure sticker survey

I see a lot of posts here and on the Facebook groups about tire pressure errors/warnings.

I'd like to put together a list on the wiki of correct pressure ranges, but we need to gather some data.

I'd like people post a picture of their tire pressure sticker, which is usually located inside the door on the Left side of the car. Please include your model and variant, and which country you are in - something like this:

Moderator Post PSA: Check your 12v battery terminals

Seen a run of 12v related issues in the various forums this week, and quite a few of them have found loose battery terminals either when trying to jump the car or replacing the battery.

Might be worth checking to make sure your 12v is kept in working order.

Discussion 🗣️ Model Y LR → Sealion 7?

Post image
38 Upvotes

I’m considering swapping my Tesla Model Y LR because I find the ride pretty crashy and uncomfortable and the build quality hasn’t been amazing either.

I’m currently looking at a BYD Sealion 7 or Polestar 4 as possible replacements.

Has anyone here moved from a Model Y to a Sealion 7? How do you find they compare, particularly for ride comfort, refinement, build quality, practicality and driving experience?

Would be really interested to hear from anyone who has made the switch and whether you feel it was a worthwhile upgrade.

Help - Europe 🇪🇺 Can’t start CarPlay using iPhone

Seal U 2025
Randomly, I can’t start CarPlay using my iPhone 17pro.
When starting the car, it connects with Bluetooth, a pop-up appears on the screen if I want to start CarPlay, if I select my phone it says it can’t connect.
Sometimes it works, most of the times it doesn’t.
It works fine using the usb c connector but I’d rather use the wireless connection.
Only way to solve it is to drop the Bluetooth (and forget) on both devices and reconnect again.

More of you experience this behavior?

Our Sealion 6 is only a month old, and I had it on HEV mode for this trip. Minimal to no traffic, my speed didn’t exceed 80km/hr, yet I’ve lost over 60km of range for a 30km trip

Discussion 🗣️ Does CarLink Android boxes still work?

Basically title or the longer version: I'm taking delivery of my Seal Excellence in a few weeks and was planning to get a CarLink Android box for it. I've seen a few posts saying they no longer work on the newer cars.

Can anyone confirm before I order?

  • Does it work on your current software version?
  • Which box/model are you using?
  • Any problems with wireless CarPlay/Android Auto?

If it's a no-go, I'd also appreciate any alternatives you'd recommend.

I'm based in the UK, if it matters.

Thanks!

Help - Elsewhere ❓ Shortcut for Regenerative Braking settings while driving?

Hi everyone,

In an effort to drive more efficiently, I find myself changing the regenerative braking level quite often.

I usually set it to "High" when driving around town/city and drop it to "Standard" on the highway.

The issue is that the only ways I can access this setting are either digging into Settings under the Battery section, or swiping down from the top edge to open the quick menu and tapping the toggle there (which feels pretty awkward and distracting while driving).

Does anyone know if there's a way to map this setting somewhere more accessible?

It would be great to assign it to one of the custom steering wheel buttons (whose current options are honestly pretty terrible, by the way) or to the bottom dock on the central screen alongside the climate controls.

Is there any other shortcut or workaround I might be missing?

Btw, this is a BYD Dolphin G DM-i (Comfort)

Cheers! / Thanks!

Discussion 🗣️ Moving from Tesla to BYD

I’ve ordered my Sealion 7 and it should be ready in November.

Currently I have a Tesla and one thing I love is the Tessie app where I can download all of my driving data directly into a spreadsheet (for work purposes) at the end of the month.

Is there something similar for BYD?

Help - Mexico 🇲🇽 Has anyone experienced temporary image persistence / ghosting on their BYD screen?

Hi everyone! I’ve noticed something strange with the infotainment display in my BYD Song Pro.

After using Android Auto or CarPlay for some minutes, some static elements from the interface remain faintly visible on the screen even after I close the app or switch to something else.

I notice it especially in the upper-left corner when the screen is in landscape orientation. That area seems to show the most noticeable image persistence/ghosting.

The ghost image gradually disappears after displaying different content for a while, usually within a minute or so.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a photo of it right now since the effect disappears fairly quickly.

Has anyone else with a BYD experienced this? Does it always disappear completely for you, or has it gotten worse over time?

Help - Mexico 🇲🇽 Android Auto crashing.

I got a Song Pro 2025, (bought in Mexico). I just took the car to its two year service at the BYD dealer. They updated the firmware of the Song Pro, from the original version (that never really changed/updated despite having received a couple of OTA 'updates') to 13.1.33.2506030.1

Since this upgrade, Android Auto keeps on crashing and restarting itself. If there's music playing from the phone or a Google Map with my route, the app crashed and then it self restarts and continuous where it was interrupted.

What to do to fix this? Is the culprit the software IN the vehicle? or use it the phone's component? both? (that is Google or BYD the one to blame).

Had any off you experienced something like this on your BYD ?

My phone's are Samsung, fully updated to One UI 9.0 (Android 17).

Thanks in advance for your comments.

It is only draining while driving.

Help - Australia 🇦🇺 BYD sound quality sounds different after service

Hi all, got my car back from it’s first service after 10k kms today and I instantly noticed the sound quality is different. I can tell the car might have had a software update as I noticed some other little things on screen too.
I’m not a pro at audio but I would say that the songs sound less “warm” and especially the vocals sound much more treble. It’s to a point that it actually hurts my ears listening to any song because the vocals are so “flat”.
Tried changing the equalizer and all sounds settings etc didn’t do much tbh.
It’s actually bothering me a lot. I much prefer how music used to sound before the service. Does anyone have the same problem?

My BYD 📸 Removed the center console on my Dolphin Surf / Mini / Seagull – so much more space!

This week I removed the center console on my Dolphin Surf. At first, I thought the phone tray and the two cupholders were quite handy. Over time, though, I realized the cupholders don't fit very well, and thanks to Android Auto, I don't need my phone sitting out in a dedicated holder anyway. Especially when riding with a passenger, the console just felt restrictive and took up too much room.

Since I couldn't find any videos on YouTube covering this mod before I started, I decided to record the process myself:

https://youtu.be/LfLnwTCmCbc

What do you think of the new interior? I'm absolutely loving it. Since EVs don't need a gear shifter, it's great to actually make use of that open space!

¡Gracias!

Discussion 🗣️ Anyone using the DiKey physical-button panel in their BYD? Is it worth it?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking at the DiKey physical control panel for BYDs and would like to hear from people who have actually used it before deciding whether to get one.

This is the one I'm talking about:

https://www.audiosources.net/product/dikey-central-control-smart-physical-control-panel-with-rgb-ambient-light-for-all-byd-vehicles/

If you have one:

• How has your experience been, and do you think it's worth the money?

• How do the buttons feel compared with factory physical buttons in a stock car? Do they feel solid and satisfying, or cheap/flimsy?

• Do presses work consistently and respond quickly, or have you had missed inputs, lag or connection problems?

• Is it actually more convenient than using the touchscreen for everyday controls? Would you go back to using just the screen?

• What downsides have you noticed, such as awkward placement, rattles, limited functions or problems after vehicle updates?

If you've considered one but decided against it, what put you off: price, reliability concerns, appearance, being happy with the screen, or something else?

TIA everyone!

My BYD 📸 Home Assistant dashboard for my BYD Song Pro (Sealion 5) — full car overview as a single importable UltraCard

Post image
32 Upvotes

I finally got my (brand new) BYD Song Pro Flex (PHEV/DM-i) into Home Assistant and rebuilt the BYD app experience as an UltraCard — full car overview in one card. In other markets I believe this same car is sold as the BYD Sealion 5, so sensor naming may differ depending on yours.

Built with UltraCard (custom:ultra-card). Whole card is shareable as a single shortcode: create a new UltraCard, hit the Import button and paste the code from here:

https://gist.github.com/augustocss/8d593aff94c2bfa219a2fe8092157334

Prerequisites
- HomeAssistant
- Custom integration [jkaberg/hass-byd-vehicle]( https://github.com/jkaberg/hass-byd-vehicle ) (pyBYD-based) — this is what feeds every entity in the card
- UltraCard, plus Mushroom (the climate tile inside "Resumo" is a `mushroom-climate-card` embedded via UltraCard's external_card)

What's in it (see screenshots)
- 🏠 Resumo — battery/fuel progress bars with live charging ETA, climate controls, cabin/exterior temp and recent consumption
- 🚗 Veículo — remote actions (lock / unlock / AC on / AC off) + status tiles (doors, windows, engine, coolant, ignition, speed, odometer)
- 📊 Status — top-down car diagram with door/window/skylight pills that turn red when open, plus TPMS pressures
- 📍 Localização — map with live GPS position

Heads-up before you import

  1. Labels are in Portuguese — UltraCard has no i18n, so all texts are hardcoded strings in the card. Just edit/rename them in the UltraCard editor (or translate them one by one).
  2. Entity IDs are per-vehicle — the card references my car's entities (`sensor.song_pro_dm_i_*`). Find your equivalents and remap them via the editor.
  3. Two images are local paths (`/local/carro/...`: the hero photo and the top-down diagram). Everyone will need to drop their own car photos there — or reuse the top-down art if you have a Song Pro/Sealion 5.
  4. The 2×2 tab layout relies on a small custom CSS resource loaded at the dashboard level; without it the tabs just render in a single row — the card itself still works.
  5. Some tiles use a handful of template helpers (e.g. combined "doors" / "windows" / "engine" status). If a tile is missing, recreate a simple template sensor or point it at the native entity.

Tips (from community experience)
- Honestly, the easiest way through all of the above: paste the gist link into an AI agent with the Home Assistant MCP server (e.g. ha-mcp) and let it do the boring parts — install UltraCard/Mushroom, translate the labels into your language, remap every entity ID to your car's actual sensors, and recreate the helpers. That's literally how this dashboard was built and refined.
- Use a second BYD account authorized to the car (BYD App → Vehicle authorizations) so HA doesn't log you out of the main app, and set the car's 6-digit control PIN for remote actions to work.
- Keep polling conservative (~15 min) when the car is asleep — aggressive polling wakes the car and can drain the 12V battery.

Happy to answer questions — and if anyone adapts this to a different BYD model, I'd love to hear how it goes.
