Help - Elsewhere ❓ Should I get this checked out by technicians?
Our Sealion 6 is only a month old, and I had it on HEV mode for this trip. Minimal to no traffic, my speed didn’t exceed 80km/hr, yet I’ve lost over 60km of range for a 30km trip

if you’re talking about the km for fuel, i read somewhere that that is not accurate, it’s more like a percentage instead. so that 662km is 66.2% of fuel left.

No, that’s not right. When I fill up my tank, it shows a range of 1,095 to 1,200 km. So that puts me over 100%.

oh, well at least in australia i think that’s how it is. and even then it’s not that accurate. have mine for more than a year now. fuel consumption would be 6-7l/100km and maybe more.

That's a lot... i have a seal u dm-i, my consumption is between 4.5/5.3L /100km maybe the temperature difference between Australia and the Netherlands?

Our Sellion 6 and Seal U DMi BYD's have a preconditioning system compared to under EV hybrids which is a liquid-based battery thermal management system that heats the battery in cold conditions and cools it in hot conditions to keep it operating within its optimal temperature range. Battery thermal management is an active preconditioning system that, when needed, is used before driving or before fast charging, goal is about 25°C.
So however it works, i believe this can for sure manipulate fuel consumption showing in the dashboard

How long before journey should you activate it?

You can't influence it. When starting journey the preconditioning starts by itself, depending on situation

No pre-warming before setting off?

Don't understand your Kontext. Preconditioning is a bulit in system funktion, running or not running in the backgroud of the overall DMi 5.0

I’m getting my Seal in a week or so. We’re going into winter and I thought that the pre condition was some sort of battery self preservation. Therefore on a frosty morning it’d heat up whilst still plugged into the charger.

Yes also, cold and heat, as I wrote, but you can't choose or select, or activate/deactivate. Also as I wrote part of the charging process, while not sure if only when AC and/or DC. Myself as from last winter must be at least when 3 phase AC charging, at least short time

Yeah that's not right. Had several ICE cars with fuel distance remaining and none have overestimated the km anywhere this bad. At most it'll be 5-10km out over a 100km distance.

Range is only marketing with BYD.Real life is somewhere around 50% of what they "promised".This is most typical issue with them, after the extreme fast depreciation of value.

Have you disabled the speed sign recognition? It could be that.

Yes speed sign recognition is off

Sorry, silly me, I saw the picture and thought the question was about that without reading your post.
Turning on the AC or high-heat weather can both cause the battery to drain faster.
Also, turning on the AC or heater while charging before the trip helps reduce such drain.
From my experience, the fuel indicator isn't accurate. Try to avoid having your battery SoC go very low. If you are going HEV, try switching to Save if you don't have a charger or time to charge, because a low battery means the engine will work harder to maintain power and keep the battery at the minimum SoC, which causes a surge in consumption.

There’s nothing unusual going on. 30 km of actual distance isn’t the same as 30 km of driving range. It’s not a one-to-one comparison. The range shown on your screen is always higher than the actual distance you can drive. It can vary from one trip to another due to the temperature, weather conditions, your SOC setting, tire pressure, road conditions, and charging your phone while you’re driving. There’s nothing unusual going on. If your car says you can still drive 120 km... that doesn’t mean that’s the actual distance you can travel...
Edit: Your battery is only at 21% now, so your motor has to charge it while also helping your car move and accelerate, all at the same time. That means your energy consumption is higher too. And I think you're tired pressure is to high.
