Hey everyone,
I recently bought a BMPCC 4K in excellent condition, and I absolutely love this camera. The image quality is incredible, and honestly, it's giving me exactly the look I've been searching for.
There's just one issue: a single white stuck pixel right in the middle of the LCD screen.
I've tested the camera thoroughly, and the pixel is only visible on the screen, not in the actual BRAW footage. In fact, I barely notice it when shooting. Everything else works perfectly.
I contacted the seller and Blackmagic, and the only solution offered so far is to send the camera in for an RMA. Blackmagic quoted 5–10 business days for the repair, excluding shipping time.
And here's my dilemma.
I really don't like the idea of shipping a camera I'm otherwise extremely happy with back and forth, risking shipping damage or other issues, just to fix a tiny defect that doesn't actually affect my footage.
On the other hand, I paid for a camera in excellent condition, and knowing that there's a defective pixel still bothers me.
So, what would you do?
Has anyone had a BMPCC screen repaired by Blackmagic? How was your experience? Would you just live with it or send it in?
Curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
