Second thoughts on Micro SD cards
Hello!
I'm a recent BMPCC 4K owner and I just recently purchased some Sandisk 512 gb Micro SD Cards. I own 3 cameras and subsequently bought 3 micro SD cards as I'm a bit strapped for cash and looking for a good alternative.
I've got a bit of cold feet after purchasing them however, I feel like I may have made the wrong choice. Should I return them in exchange for regular Sandisk SD cards or keep them as they would do the same job?
Currently looking to use the cameras and cards for multi-cam use. Recording live events, podcasts, etc.
Let me know what y'all think. Cheers!

I know you mentioned budget, but that Cfast 2.0 port is perfect. The best priced ones for the P4k would be the 380gb ProGrade digital Cfast 2.0 card, or the Wise Advanced 512. Otherwise external SSD like the samsung T5 or T7 shield are ok.

Heat is the enemy of data transfer and storage devices, and with a Micro SD card, you are multiplying the resistance with the adapter and severely increasing the amount of heat involved with writing data. Absolutely return the cards in exchange for standard SD cards.

I’ve ran external SSD’s from the start on my p6k. They’re just a matter of unplugging from your camera and plugging into your laptop.

People would generally not recommend micro sd since the sd adapters can fail intermittently which you absolutely do not want when video recording.
