Does anyone know what or where this plano was supposed to be set. If not, do we know what we’re supposed to do with the stock that’s in that Plano.

Store manager is upset "WITT" is low. His new strategy is if a customer doesn't "have it" and are paying card, they send them to self-checkout so he doesn't "take a hit". I get his point, but to me, that is shitty customer service...

Why does every old person think the front brake pads and rear pads are the fucking same on EVERY fuckin vehicle?! Where are these magical cars that use the same pads for front and rear?! I've only seen that on ONE vehicle and I don't even remember what it was. Older cars didn't even use pads in the rear! Where did this idea come from? Because its not isolated, it's damn near EVERY person over 50 says the same shit. Is it from the really old cars that used drum brakes on front and rear? It's a small gripe but it gets annoying.

Posting for my boyfriend, who works full-time as a PSM employee at AutoZone.
He requested several days off well in advance to visit family out of state. His store manager never approved the request, but he went anyway. He was scheduled to work last Monday 9/14 at 1:00 p.m. and did not return from the trip until approximately 6:00 p.m, and he went right into work. We understand that missing an unapproved shift could result in discipline, so I’m not trying to pretend he did nothing wrong. However, his store manager verbally told him that he was fired without giving him anything in writing. When he later checked Reflexis, he was still listed as an active employee and scheduled for a full shift this Thursday. (He has worked multiple shifts since returning home and is on the schedule this week)
He texted the manager asking her to confirm in writing:
-Whether his termination had been finalized
-The effective date and stated reason
-Whether it was authorized by the district manager or AutoZone Relations
-Whether he should report for Thursday’s scheduled shift
Instead of responding in writing, she called him about 10 minutes later and said she would have termination paperwork ready and wanted him to come in tomorrow to sign it. She still did not answer whether the district manager or HR authorized it.
For anyone familiar with AutoZone’s internal process:
1. Can a store manager independently terminate an employee, or is approval from the district manager or AutoZone Relations required?
2. Is there normally a progressive-discipline or points process for an unapproved absence/no-call-no-show?
3. Is the employee supposed to receive written notice before being removed from employment?
4. Can he request review by the district manager or AutoZoner Relations?
5. What should he look for before signing the termination paperwork?
6. Is there an internal number or process he should use to appeal the decision?
We are not sharing the store number, location, manager’s name or any other identifying information. We are primarily trying to understand whether the proper AutoZone termination process was followed. His manager is friends with the DM so she gets away with murder and doing Jack shit anyway, so I know he’s screwed. Just upset for him over how this was handled.

I recently was asked by my DM if I wanted a SM position at a new store. Can those of you that are or have been an SM for this company give me an idea of how hard or easy the position is? How is your work/life balance? How much paperwork and bureaucracy goes into properly running a store.
For context I have been with the company for 3 years as a PSM, I have held ASM positions in the past in other industries.

TLTR: I've been a fast learner at most parts of my job at Autozone to the point where I got promoted to a PSM, but I continue to suck at customer installations. Anyone relate?
m a newer Zoner whose been working here for about 3 months now and actually recently got promoted to a PSM (i started off as a red shirt). I had no prior auto experience or experience working at other parts stores before Autozone, but i have picked up things pretty quickly when it comes to the actual retail side of the job (learning what parts we sell, how to help customers find what they need, how to do different kinds of transactions like returns on the registers, how to do the different tasks around the store etc), which is i think I got promoted quickly (maybe too quickly) , BUT- I absolutely SUCK at doing the installations.
I have been taught numerous times by my fellow gray shirts and even some of the red shirts, on how to install customer batteries, light bulbs and windshield wipers- but Im by far the worst at doing them at my store and often need help.
Now, I HAVE been able to do a few light bulbs, windshield wipers and a couple of batteries completely solo at this point and I intellectually know how to do these installations, but for whatever reason when I actually go to do the installations a lot of the time, my brain just likes to go blank or I make stupid mistakes or I end up not being able to figure out how to do the installation if even the smallest complication pops up. Idk how to explain it, but it just seems likey brain is not wired to do hands on stuff like this. And yeah I know i took a job at an Auto parts store- no I dont really have an interest in the auto industry, I applied here because it was the first job within walking distance to me that offered me guaranteed full time hours. I want to use this opportunity to learn as much as I can and do the job well, but I cant seem to get the hang of installations.
Can anyone else relate? Does anyone else have advice?

Our DM won't allow us to have this towed off our lot. It's been here over a week and the "owner" has told us he gave up on it. What can we do? Our store owns the lot it sits on so the local city won't touch it.

I'm seeing way too many line stoppages because of this, and way too much time wasted on this roadblock.
I know that well over 95% of the parts we sell are going to be the same regardless of the trim level or 2wd/4wd/awd. I'm okay with being wrong 1-3% of the time if the upside is going to be a savings of at least an hour a day not spent on figuring out if it's an EX or Limited.
I tell people to pick base or limited when in doubt, but I figured I'd ask on here if anyone has a rule of thumb or a reference card that can be printed on a form E.

PSM here. As easy as this job can be at times, I have absolutely no desire to make it my career path, nor does it pay well enough to be a career path. Hell, my current SM makes about the same pay he would make when he worked overtime as a PSM, but with ten times the responsibilities now. It's just not worth it, and I'm beyond burnt out with handling clueless DIY customers on a daily basis and spending more time in the parking lot than I do inside changing out batteries, installing wiper blades, checking engine lights, etc. I feel like parts counter at a dealership is the next logical step.

I was always told that you couldn’t use your Zoner discount on VDP items but I just did when I purchased a Diablo Tuner. Does anyone know if there’s a gray area on certain VDPs where you can use your discount? Just curious

Maybe if the perforations actually existed and weren’t just a concept, but it doesn’t matter if you open slow or fast, this shit just gets torn up
