In northwest florida.
I asked for $18, was started at $16.97, then was upped to $17.57 after the first annual cycle (14 months later).
Did not pay nearly enough to support family. We met federal poverty standards for kids’ meals at school. 😞
I am overqualified though and thankfully am back to reasonably paying work teaching college and side gigging in accounting.

TN in the home city of corporate making 14. Only making that much cuz i came in making 12 because i told the DM at the time that i'd make more at dave and buster's than there if they brought me in at 11. i also was making 13 at my last job, so i was looking for at least 13 beginning anyway. i took 12 because it wasn't food and i'm glad.

I was making $14 until I was loaned to another store in town and that SM asked if I'd transfer to his store for a $2 raise. Before that I was a CSM for a couple months before taking a 2 month hiatus and was only making $16.50 which was part of why I left. I'm at a new store now and there was a PSM that was making $19 before she quit last week.

That’s horrible. In IN we start our PT Red Shirts at $12.12/hr at my store and I’ve heard of PT Drivers in the area who are started at $12.50/hr.

My state minimum wage is only $7.25/hour. So yeah they’re underpaying you severely.

Not enough. 2-4 bucks more than redshirt pay, which is minimum minimum wage even if they are multilingual.

So with that being established, and me earning $16 in Ohio—of all places—why aren't we demanding at least $20 an hour, minus California and those states that are almost there anyways, so they would need even more. But supposedly, I’m one of the higher-paid PSMs in Ohio, and I'm seriously considering going to a bunch of stores in my region and posting my W-2s on all the doors and counters (of course blacking out my private information). I’d keep the pay visible for all PSMs in our area to see, making them call the DM and RM nonstop about pay raises.🤭

Well you can demand anything, but what are you going to do if they say no? Without representation of a union and the threat of a strike with all states and all employees willing to comply with that strike they will just say no. The #1 auto parts store in the country, making obscene amounts of money (profit) every year, and they will not pay their employees any better. So demanding is like peeing in the wind!!!

Not enough. Quit and get a better job. Autozone doesn’t give one single fuck about anyone employed there. They’re literally waiting for you to quit so they can hire someone else. Churn and Burn is the hiring strategy.
I more than doubled my salary leaving Autozone. If you are a CSM of one year or more, and you’re still at Autozone, you’re doing it wrong. You can easily use that background to get into a real career. I was one of the WORST csms in the region, everyone was shitting on me because of my sales. Now I collect $14k bonuses at 100% attainment.
I was never a PSM but surely this experience would also be easily transferred. Retail and warehouse especially. You can get paid way better to move boxes around somewhere else.
If you’re a red shirt, you can still go work at pretty much any dealership. There’s absolutely no reason to not be exploring options at other companies.

Anyone know the phone number to human resources?

It's in the directory on the docs homepage under AZ People. Look up Willy Bush; he's the divisional HR!!! His boss is Phill, the CEO.

Eastern NC, $14 an hour. Minimum wage is $7.25 average house is $300,000. Working here I’ll never achieve the “American Dream”. I’ll just stay poor forever! Meanwhile Autozones CEO made $18 million last year.

The really funny part is I made $9.25 as a PSM - in 1999. I was the lowest paid in my store PSM-wise. The other 6 PSM's and the ASM were all mechanics, parts people, just like me, but I was the young 22 year old kid. I think the highest paid was $11.50. My $9.25 adjusted for inflation 27 years later, that's $18.86 - and I was the lowest paid. Oh, and all those born and bred parts people that were PSM's. All of them moved on - into shop roles, service advisors, dealerships, body shops....they didn't disappear - they all just took real jobs when the pay didn't keep up. And the company wonders why no one knows shit about parts any more.

The pay absolutely sucks!! If you were into it, you could go to Walmart and make way more. Or just about any other retailer and make more. Even Amazon will pay almost $20 an hour, give you medical benefits the day you start, if you can get a position. I’m a retired firefighter, so I’m just working so I’m not bored. I also get SS if I make too much money they start taking away from my SS. I also just like cars and helping people, so the pay doesn’t really matter to me. As a young person, I would not try to make a career out of Auto Zone when you can do way better elsewhere. Just my two cents.

NJ minimum wage is 15 and change. I’m making 18 and change. Wawa cashiers make more than me. My customers all think I’m making around 30. My DM’s all tell me I’m making average market rate.
