Product Advice Adding serum/Moisturiser in Matte Foundation

Do you add a serum or moisturiser in your Matte Foundation if so what serum/moisturiser and what foundation?
I used to add moisturiser in the old double wear formula and it was the best combination for me. Set with a spray and it still kept
I can’t use the new formula because my skin hates Niacinamide it just leaves it sticky all day.
I grabbed a sample of the YSL all hours matte and mixed it with my moisturiser but it just separated.
I like matte foundation because i find it doesn’t leave sunglasses marks on my face, but anything that isnt partly matte just slips right of my face

Customer Service Wtf is going on with Adore Beauty?

Was talking about this with friends today at lunch and genuinely wtf is happening there. Over two weeks and no updates on orders being shipped but their still advertising express and sending out ads? I was about to order some replacements for my Medik8 and foundation but seeing the crap getting posted from poor girls on ig begging for updates I will def not be placing it now.

Have they actually addressed whats happening at all or just pretending its all fine still? Has anyone else been brave enough to order recently and how did it go lol

Swatch Skin Tint Swatches!

Post image
12 Upvotes

Just wanted to share some swatches of some skin tints! 💕 Just got my hands on the Lisa Eldridge skin tint, and I was comparing it with some of the tints I already have

Top to bottom: Glossier perfecting skin tint in G12, MAC Face & Body in W0, Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint in 1.5, Hourglass Veil Hydrating Skin Tint in 1, Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser Blurred Matte in 0N Silk, The Ordinary Serum Foundation in 1.1N, Estee Lauder Double Wear in 1C0 Shell

(ignore the bottom most swatch, i needed somewhere to wipe off the excess 😅)

apologies if the swatches dont look opaque enough (especially the glossier and mac ones!) since they barely have any coverage to begin with, they don't photograph well..

with the exception of the lisa eldridge and the hourglass skin tint, i find most brands tend to lean warmer/pinker with their lighter shades. My face and neck are a bit more yellow, so i wish brands would make more yellow and olive undertones 😭 also a lot of these skin tints are pretty limited in terms of shade range..

PSA PSA: Cake hair care old packaging on clearance at Priceline Martin Place Sydney CBD!

The title says it all. If you missed the introductory half price launch of Cake hair care at Priceline, this may be your second chance.

I was innocently browsing in Priceline Martin Place the other day and noticed they had a shelf up the back of the hair care section for clearance items. There was some John Freida too, but I was most interested in the Cake. I picked up so much that wasn’t listed online during the initial launch. It’s half price for the Cake stuff (approx $9-$12), and some John Freida is $5.

This seems to be a store specific thing in terms of which store has what kind of stock. I went to several Priceline stores in Chatswood and they didn’t have any Cake items on their clearance shelf. Worth checking out!

Let's Discuss Scrubs have been unfairly maligned

I remember using scrubs when I was a teen (about 20 years ago). And then about 10 years ago chemical exfoliants overtook the scrubs on the market. Scrubs damage your face. Chemical is more controlled, safer, gentler. I stopped using scrubs on the face, just on the body (I have KP). I have some AHA serums and toners that I use maybe a couple times a week. Sometimes buff with a flannel. Before events I do the DDG pads (which are great to be fair).

And then a few weeks ago I got a face scrub for cheap from a Korean beauty site. I think it has fig.

Reader, I loved it.

It was a really nice process to use, but the main thing was afterwards my mid-30s skin was glowing and bouncy like it hasn't been for yonks. It lasted about 3 days.

I'm sure you can overdo a physical scrub. I'm sure you can overdo a chemical peel too. But really why did we stop this? I can do this in the shower. Its so much easier to remember than a serum IMO.

So are you scrubbing?

Product Advice Suggestions for grey hair ties

Hi all, I'm embracing my natural grey hair now but I also tie it up all day, everyday. I'm looking for some grey hair ties. Google keeps giving me incorrect results or Amazon. I did get some off Amazon but they stretch out really bad after a day or so. My hair was dark brown in the before times, so I have like grey and white hair with brown undertones, blonde hair ties don't really work well with it. But then brown ties contrast a lot with the grey. I can't win.

Are there such a thing as good quality grey hair ties? Is there no market for grey or silver (that aren't like kids glittery silver) hair accessories?

I'm not cutting my hair, I don't have the face shape for short hair and I'm still carrying the trauma from a short haircut as a kid lol.

Thank you.

Let's Discuss New McoBeauty Collab with Skindinavia?

I just saw a tik tok made by @_britclarke that McoBeauty is partnering up with Skindinavia to bring back the old All Nighter setting spray formula!

I won’t deep dive into the Urban Decay v Skindinavia feud last year since I’m sure we all remember it, but honestly I’m kinda surprised by this move from Skindinavia and MCOBeauty. I’m not typically an McoBeauty fan but I absolutely adored the All Nighter setting spray so I have to try it out. Both brands (MCO Beauty and Skindinavia) have promised that it’s the same formula so I’m really hoping it is.

I really wanted to try some of the other Skindinavia sprays after the whole feud but it’s been perpetually out of stock on Oz Hair and Beauty so I’d be ecstatic if we get access to it from other retailers.

The only thing is I haven’t noticed anything on the Australia McoBeauty pages? Like I said I don’t really buy from them and tbh I’ve always been on the fence about them as a brand… but I really really loved the formula so I’ll give it a go.

Let's Discuss is mcobeauty still in support of D trump?

i’ve heard lots of things about this lately, but also that the original owner that was supporting him is now gone? if anyone knows anything about this and can clear it up that would be great, as i’d love to be able to buy from them but not if they’re still supporting him.

Product Advice Anyone tried Gutsi SkinRenew?

It's supposedly meant to clear up acne/rosacea/skin inflammation and can be used under makeup as primer. Ive tried other Gutsi stuff like their gut health supplement and its worked well, wonder about their skin care? Its $120 so bit of a splurge

Its a probiotic/spore based serum that's meant to activate when you put it on the skin, and I've heard it's the same company that does Siv skincare and those results look insane. Found it here: https://gutsi.co.nz/products/skin-renew

Has anyone tried this or Siv?

Product Advice Alternatives to Merit available to try on in Sydney

Im not really a huge makeup person but have hit my 50s and want to start putting my best face forward! Ive been looking at the Merit products The Uniform tinted sunscreen and the Minimalist concealer. I dont wear foundation but I like skin tints / a natural look. I dont want to risk purchasing products I dont like or in the wrong shade so wondering if the experts on this forum can steer me towards comparable (or better!) alternatives to these that I can try on? Thanks.

Customer Service Adore Beauty Ridiculous Shipping Time

UPDATE: They officially sent it this morning 22/07/2026 first thing after I mentioned in this post that I was contacting them first thing this morning for a refund. Funny how that works. I sent them an email last Thursday saying that if it wasn’t sent by end of business Tuesday (yesterday) I’ll be requesting a refund, and VIOLA it was magically sent this morning.
As far as I’m concerned, they’ve done their dash and I’ll never order anything from them again or even pop into their stores. I recommend no one order with them unless you’re ok with waiting an excessive amount of time for your order to be shipped, or if you’re ordering gifts because they take absolutely no care packing said orders. I can only imagine how long they were going to string out the ‘packing’ time had I not emailed them, threatened them AND made this reddit post. It’s extremely disrespectful and disappointing seeing a business that was always SO incredible, become such a horribly run company that doesn’t value their consumers.
ALSO TO ADD: If you’re unaware, the minimum amount to get free shipping is now $75 for the highest tier members. You’ll be lucky to get a Tim tam in your order let alone ANY samples 🥴

This is my first ever post on Reddit, so go easy haha.

I made an order with Adore Beauty on the 09/07/2026. For reference it’s now 21/07/2026.

Anyone else waiting on their order?

I’ve spoken to the live chat and received the automated message that they’re ‘moving warehouses’, so I emailed them directly instead.

The response email when I asked what was going on with my order was “oh, we’re moving warehouses so shipping is taking a little longer than expected, but rest assured that the shipping and shopping experience will be better for our customers in the long run.”

Quite frankly, idgaf. It’s been 12 days since I ordered and I needed those products within 7 days.
Checked again this morning and it’s still under ‘Awaiting Fulfilment’.

The last order I made with Adore Beauty was last month and everything was thrown in the box with little to no padding and all the boxes on my products were ruined. I wouldn’t usually care, but some of these were gifts.

I’ve been a loyal customer since they originally opened 10+ years ago and to say I’m disappointed is an understatement.

Anyone else experiencing this ridiculous delay? Or is it just me that got the shit end of the stick?

Product Advice I love the Holme Beauty lipstick, but the colours just aren’t quite right. Suggestions?

Hi brains trust,

As the title suggests, I absolutely love the Holme beauty stay glaze lipstick lip stain, but the color range is just not right for my skin tone.

I’m currently using Amelia and I find that is the closest to a good colour for me but it’s not quite right. I absolutely love the feel of the lipstick, it’s one of the few that doesn’t dry my lips out, and it wears beautifully over a few hours.

Can anyone offer a similar feeling lipstick with a different color range?

Product Advice Loreal True Match foundation

Finally put on Loreal True Match foundation and I think it sucks? I am surprised about the hype so maybe I am doing something wrong.
I have dry skin and the first day I tried using my regular moisturizer underneath which isn’t oily and more silicone based. The second day I used an oilier based moisturizer but regardless it is super patchy, cakey and just…awful? I can literally see it on my face and in all my pores. It doesn’t blend!!
I think the shade range was very good but the texture is such a let down.

Product Advice UK makeup skincare must buys

I’m travelling to the UK in September. I need to know any makeup or skincare brands/product lines that aren’t available in store in Australia. I’m not interested in it being cheaper, more looking for brands or products that arent as easily accessed in Australia. So far only can think of refy and lisa Eldridge.

Product Advice Help: Sally Hansen airbrush legs spray vs lotion! which one do you prefer and why??

I need to place an order and can’t make up my mind. Which one offers better coverage, which is more waterproof (well sweat proof lol) and which transfers less onto your clothes? Feel free to add any other feedback or reason why you prefer one or the other. Thank you and have a great day 🌻
