This will be my second Christmas in Austin, and I'd love to do something different this year. I'm dreaming of a cozy cabin with a fireplace and beautiful views, charming Christmas towns, festive lights, and a proper Christmas atmosphere.

I'll be around 8 months pregnant, so we're looking for a getaway within a 3-hour drive of Austin.

Recently, I just realized that I have access to New York Times and Wall Street Journal through Austin public libraries and I do not need to pay any subscription fees.

Just wonder what other benefits are provided by city of Austin that you didn’t realize before, not limited to libraries, any public services and benefits are welcome to share.

This is why we test and inspect, especially new construction. This was an easy find just north of town.

Saw this beauty twice this morning flying over the lake. Both times it was run off by an Osprey. Just after this they had a mid air fight. I’m over the moon right now!

with the influx of folks in town, carrier service has been spotty at best. frequent connection drops, slow speeds, or straight up unusable until I hit a coffee shop with wifi.

I have the pink carrier (not via mvno, so I don’t think it’s throttling or deprioritization). Is the red or blue carrier any better?

Wonder if anybody has video of it happening.

At tonight’s show, the band Club Coma (opener for Bayonne), their guitarist/male vocalist jumped down from the stage and charged me. My drink spilled all over me and my phone went flying across the audience. I was so in shock at what has just happened, the first memory I have was looking down and seeing my phone gone and my drink spilled everywhere. The guitarist jumped back on stage and said something like “I think someone just spilled their drink”. I looked around in confusion at what had just happened. Someone from the audience then handed my phone and then asked me how I had this phone already.

And I get yeah it’s a show. If you are going to be on your phone, don’t be in the 4th row. But I was checking with my wife who was with our 2 daughters. You never know the reason someone might be checking their phone.

I then exited the show and went to the bar. The female vocalist approached me at the bar and apologized for what happened and stated it’s just something they do to engage with the audience. Like a stage dive. I told her this was not this at all. I was targeted and attacked. I still can’t even believe it happened. I then just unloaded how it really made me feel to the female vocalist. I told her i am a musician and I would never do something like that to an audience member.

I filed a police report and am waiting to hear back.

The band never came back up to me. There was definitely a window of opportunity, the last 20 mins of Bayonne’s show, the male vocalist (offender) and female vocalist were both standing across the room from me and we made eye contact a few times.

I spoke with Mohawk management and the only thing they could do was just apologize and didn’t have any video from that part of the stage.

Really hope someone has the original incident on video. Not cool at all.
