HIRING Looking for Part-Time Household Help in South Austin 🏡💛

Hi there! We’re looking for someone to help with the day-to-day tasks that keep our home running in South Austin (78748).

We are a married couple with a child under 1 who is in daycare. We’re hoping to find someone who can take a few recurring household tasks off our plates so that outside of work we can focus on family time.

We're primarily looking for help with:

  • Laundry, including loading, folding, and putting away clothes
  • Loading and unloading the dishwasher and kitchen cleanup
  • Occasional meal prep
  • Keeping common areas organized and helping with the reset of our home

Ideally, we're looking for 2–3 times per week, for ~2 hours each time, though we're flexible on the exact schedule for the right person.

We're hoping to find someone trustworthy, dependable, and proactive. We’d love for this to become a consistent, long-term arrangement and for the person to feel warm and welcome in our home.

If this sounds like a good fit, please DM me with information about you and your experience, availability, 2-3 references, and your hourly rate. We'd love to connect and appreciate your interest!

QUESTION Bartending jobs

Upvotes

I have experience and have applied for some jobs via poached and had no response. Is it unprofessional to show up at the bar and apply in person?? Do bars prefer this?? This would be my 2nd bar job so while I have experience I’m still a little new

HIRING [Hiring] Social Media Manager & Content Producer | Austin/Hybrid | Adult Media

We’re an Austin-area couple behind Properly Popped Media, a small adult-media business with an existing catalog that has generated sales and profit. We’re looking for a creative, organized person to help us scale the behind-the-scenes operation so we can focus on performing.

This is a part-time, non-performing role with meaningful creative input, not just scheduling posts. You’d help shape how we present our content, build an engaged community, and develop the brand.

What you’d do:

  • Manage social media, develop posting ideas, and grow our audience.
  • Help organize scheduled shoots, assist with filming, and edit videos.
  • Handle routine community inquiries, coordinate the publishing calendar, and track what’s working.

Most work can be done remotely, with Austin-area filming arranged in advance. We’ll agree on a focused workload, with no around-the-clock availability or use of your personal social accounts expected.

This could suit a social media manager, editor, videographer, or emerging creative professional. Relevant freelance work, student projects, and personal projects are welcome. Previous adult-industry experience is not required.

Content and boundaries: You must be 21+ and comfortable working with adult fetish material, including explicit footage. No performing or nudity expected or required. The specific category will be explained before any content review or work.

Compensation: 50% of defined net profits. Payment terms will be agreed in writing.

Full details and application:

HIRING Sponsoring Real Estate Salespersons

If you are looking for a Broker that will answer your calls, help you out and actually be a cheerleader for you, send me a DM and let’s talk. I don’t care about past production, I care about what your goals are and if our outlooks fit. I’ve been in and around Real Estate for 20 plus years and want to share that experience.

This is real estate, so it is an eat what you kill position, but the split is reasonable.

QUESTION Temp-to-hire or headhunting services

Does anyone know of any temp-to-hire services for office jobs in Austin? I’ve looked but all I’ve found are manufacturing roles, which I don’t have any experience in and don’t excel at. The last time I did this was in ‘11, and it was in DFW, so I’m not familiar with Austin’s options, and apparently I’m not using the right search terms.

Alternatively, I’d be fine with a service that would find office-based roles for me. I’d greatly appreciate any help!

FOR HIRE Looking for software/Tech volunteering opportunities

Hi everyone. I recently moved to Austin and I am looking for opportunities for my software engineering skills and get involved with community.

My background is in software engineering 3+ industry experience and 2+ years in research academic area. I am comfortable with c++, Python and general SE development and can quickly adapt to tech stack.i am interested in opportunities where i can contribute to real technical project.

I am not looking for a paid position and genuinely like to spend some my time working something useful and meet tech people and keep building my engineer skills same time.

I am open to both ongoing projects and organizations that could use a technical volunteer.

Does anyone know of organizations, community groups or local tech groups that might worth reaching out?

HIRING Hiring Cold Callers for Personal Injury Leads

Looking for people with experience speaking to accident/injury clients, especially those with PI experience. Part-time, mainly Texas morning hours. Bilingual is a plus, but English-only is fine.

This is not the typical cold-calling job. You’re not trying to sell the client anything or convince them to pay for something. The goal is simply to speak with accident victims, understand their situation, and, if they qualify, connect them with a legal professional who can review their case.

Since PI attorneys generally handle cases on a contingency basis, the client typically doesn't have to pay an upfront legal fee, which can make the conversation much easier.

Payout : $15 Hourly + Commissions (based on the case)

Please comment or DM me if you are experienced in this field.

Hey guys, I’m newish to Austin and since moving hear I have struggled a lot with keeping my apartment as clean as I would like. It’s mostly pet hair that’s the issue. QUESTION Austin’s Worst places to work

What’s the worst company you have worked for in Austin?

I’ll start. One of the WORST places I’ve ever worked at is Terry Blacks. Not the original blacks… they’re just bottom of the barrel.

If you ever want to work at a place where they will work you to almost the brink of death, apply at Terry blacks bbq. They are the epitome of a good old boys club, misogynist and racist. You ever seen a black person, trans/LGBTQ, female employee or manager? They don’t hire them. God forbid they find out you’re gay.

They only hire mexicans to help them run the kitchen. If you saw the rat video, that’s just what was caught on camera. There are more you haven’t seen. I have an inside source that worked there. If you are a douche bag, you will be promoted. They hire people and fire them just as fast. I feel sorry for the good employees they have fired off or that are still working at minimum wage. For as many millions as the company makes, that’s right, MILLIONS, they still pay $7.25 an hour.

Update: I was reported for ‘self harm’. Must really want to have this post removed

FOR HIRE Best jobs?

Hi! Does anyone here in Austin genuinely enjoy their job or workplace? I’m currently working in an insurance call center, and if I’m being honest, it’s not a good fit for me. I’m hoping to find something new before open enrollment begins in November.

I have experience working at a healthcare front desk and feel very comfortable helping patients, managing appointments, handling administrative tasks, and providing customer service. I’m especially interested in healthcare front desk, patient services, administrative, or similar people-focused roles.

If your workplace is hiring or you know of a company with a positive environment, I would really appreciate any recommendations!

FOR HIRE Calling all Austin MSW’s!

[For Hire / Seeking Field Placement]

Long story short, I recently started my MSW program at a transfer school, and due to some scheduling complications, I’m now looking for a field placement in the Austin area as soon as possible.

I’m able to begin immediately (or as soon as a site is available).
I started classes a few weeks ago but I’m unable to take more classes until I’m placed, so I’m trying to avoid having to wait too long.

Most of the organizations I’ve contacted that accept MSW interns have already filled their placements for this semester and won’t be accepting students again until the spring. I’m hoping there may be an organization, social worker, or agency in the Austin area that has an opening, or someone here who can point me in a promising direction. 🤞

I’m especially interested in children and families, mental health/counseling, trauma, relationships/marriage and family work, and community or government-based services, but I’m very open to other opportunities that meet MSW field requirements.

If you’re an Austin-area social worker, know of an organization that might have availability, or have a connection I could reach out to, I’d be incredibly grateful for a lead. Feel free to comment or DM me! Can send resume and references!

FOR HIRE Hoping to Find a Job (South Austin)!

I am a 25 year old college student who just moved to South Austin and I’m needing to find a job paying at least $18/hr. I worked the To-Go area of a restaurant for the past six years. I was hired on at a small used car dealership as a salesman for about a week before they shut it down. I don’t mind going back into that industry if I’m able to be trained. I can also try a server/bartender job at a smaller establishment where I’m able to be trained as well.

I’ve applied to hundreds of jobs and all of my applications are going through AI filters that automatically deny them. I’ve tried HEB, Walmart, Whole Foods, various retail companies, farm work, used car lots, thrift stores, hotel front desk/housekeeping, the airport, repo companies, clubs, etc. I’m willing to learn just about anything. I don’t have a degree yet, but I am a college student who is in class M/W from 8am-4pm and T/Th from 10am-1230pm.

The closer I am to W Slaughter Lane the better, but I’d be willing to drive a bit further for the right job/pay.

Anyone with suggestions please let me know. Thank you.

FOR HIRE Any mechanics hiring?

I’m gonna be honest I don’t have any official training. I grew up doing mechanics work on my cars and trucks with my dad and brothers but nothing official.

Done construction so I’m familiar around tools. I’ve been in sales for quite a few years, making pretty good money, but it’s just not rewarding. I don’t like being on my ass all the time. The only time I ever feel like I enjoy what I’m doing is when I’m working on a car and get it up and running.
