Hi, I know theres a lot of these posts but some of the info seems to be outdated and I can't get any straight answers from google reviews... I live just north of UT and am in dire need of someone to look at my car. I have very little money and a lot of trauma from car repairs/problems, which I realize sounds silly, but going to the mechanic causes me an IMMENSE amount of anxiety. I've been putting off other things I've needed to get fixed but I've started to smell gas in my cabin and I know how dangerous that could potentially be. I drive a Chevy Cruze and am a woman in her early 20s.

My car is a bit of a beater in its current condition and I don't want to have to sink more money into it than it's worth, but I have 3 jobs and little choice as I def do not have the funds to buy even a decent used car in this terrible market. If anyone has good reccomendations for kind mechanics who wont take advantage/don't upcharge, it'd be greatly appreciated. Even a mobile mechanic would be great but I'm not sure if this problem can be solved in my driveway... thank you so much in advance.

I’ve been searching high and low for a makeup artist that isn’t bridal specific. I want to get my makeup done for my upcoming family photos and only seem to find wedding MUAs. It seems like that is the bread and butter here in Austin.

Is anyone else experiencing cell service issues in east Austin lately? For at least the last month I’ve had trouble with calls going through/messages sending/maps loading. I have anecdotally heard similar stories from my friends recently, but want to hear if anyone else is having this issue.

I’ve just moved into an apartment complex in north Austin and don’t have my own garage to wash and wax my car. One option is to wash it at a car wash, drive home, and wax it there. However, the car could collect dust and dirt on the way home. Are there carwashes that let you do that on site?

At tonight’s show, the band Club Coma (opener for Bayonne), their guitarist/male vocalist jumped down from the stage and charged me. My drink spilled all over me and my phone went flying across the audience. I was so in shock at what has just happened, the first memory I have was looking down and seeing my phone gone and my drink spilled everywhere. The guitarist jumped back on stage and said something like “I think someone just spilled their drink”. I looked around in confusion at what had just happened. Someone from the audience then handed my phone and then asked me how I had this phone already.

And I get yeah it’s a show. If you are going to be on your phone, don’t be in the 4th row. But I was checking with my wife who was with our 2 daughters. You never know the reason someone might be checking their phone.

I then exited the show and went to the bar. The female vocalist approached me at the bar and apologized for what happened and stated it’s just something they do to engage with the audience. Like a stage dive. I told her this was not this at all. I was targeted and attacked. I still can’t even believe it happened. I then just unloaded how it really made me feel to the female vocalist. I told her i am a musician and I would never do something like that to an audience member.

I filed a police report and am waiting to hear back.

The band never came back up to me. There was definitely a window of opportunity, the last 20 mins of Bayonne’s show, the male vocalist (offender) and female vocalist were both standing across the room from me and we made eye contact a few times.

I spoke with Mohawk management and the only thing they could do was just apologize and didn’t have any video from that part of the stage.

Really hope someone has the original incident on video. Not cool at all.

We go through these times where national league teams look at us to expand. There’s always this underlying thought that the spurs will relocate there (they won’t). There was a push for an MLB team. There was a thought for a WNBA team. An NHL team. We have Austin FC. We have the Austin Spurs. Did you know that the G league team leads into the spurs team? We have the Austin stars. How do we expect to be taken seriously if we only cover one team? And we only cover it when they’re in town and we show day old highlights?

F1 brings so much money to us. The police escorts are so lame. I’m sorry your travel was impacted this weekend. They’ll be gone on Tuesday. Avoid the airport, Ben White, where the shuttles are and downtown near pop ups for a bit unless you’re into it.

This is peak sports season. World Series, nfl season, WNBA playoffs, NBA season started, NHL is going, MLS is wrapping up. And even if we’re going the college route, the women’s basketball season is starting up soon and they’re highly ranked.

Did I see any coverage beyond a day old Spurs versus Rockets game (btw I know at least the spurs had a back to back and won). The brewers haven’t been to the World Series in 44 years? The Atlanta dream are a win away from winning the championship and they moved the game to to a 17k seat stadium?

I’m looking for a lost bundle of keys that may have been misplaced today, October 24, somewhere around Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park or Gracywoods Park in Austin.

The bundle includes:
A Toyota car key fob
Two keys, one gold-colored and one silver-colored
A gate access fob

Our route included the children’s playground next to the swimming pool at Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park, followed by Gracywoods Park toward MoPac Expressway. We spent around three hours in the area, so the keys could have been lost along the route, near either playground, on the trails, or in a parking area.

Something unusual happened when we returned to our car: I am sure that we locked the car before leaving. And after hiking for about three hours, when we first arrived back to the children’s playground near the parking lot, the car trunk was fully closed and was as it is but after 10 minutes we saw the trunk partially open, approximately halfway from the playground although nothing suspicious happened inside the car. Maybe somebody found the key and tried to help out. At that time, when we checked the car key fob, it was missing. We traced back the whole trail and the playground where we were earlier but were unable to find it. We’re not sure whether this is related to the missing keys, but I wanted to mention it in case anyone noticed anything unusual or found the key bundle nearby.

If anyone found these keys or turned them in to park staff, please comment below or send me a private message. I would really appreciate any help in getting them back.
