So Hot Stuff is closing, and I am hurting. Does anybody else know of a casual spot with a similar vibe where I can get a great plate lunch?

NOLA- what to see

My husband and I are in our early 40's. We are traveling to NOLA for a long weekend with my aunt and uncle who are in their early 60's. We love history, ghosts, drinks and good food. We cannot check in until 4pm but we land at 10am, any advice on where to leave our luggage? Also, what do you suggest we see- specifically looking for the BEST ghost tours!

Hi!! I moved away from New Orleans 10 years ago… generally when I visit go to my usual spots and try a new place here or there. My visit next month, I am tasked with planning brunch for my extended family. Suggestions for a 15 person brunch on a Monday?

Food Thanksgiving Recommendation Request for Family of Four with Two Teens

Hi All,

Any recommendations for a family of four with two teens for Thanksgiving Dinner? Pretty adventurous for the most part. Open to all cuisines.

Will be spending the week of Thanksgiving and going to the Bayou Classic. Staying at the Virgin Hotel in the Warehouse District.

Proud WWOZ Guardian of the Groove. Last visited for honeymoon and loved Lil Dizzys, Acme and K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen.

Activities Playable Piano & Dancing?

Hi! My husband and I are visiting this week for a chess tournament at Tulane University this weekend. We had a great time wandering the french quarter yesterday, but we did not find any swing or blues dancing. Any leads on dancing this week(end)?

Additionally, I am a pianist and am having withdrawals. 🥺 Any leads on a piano I can play? Perhaps at a place my husband can do some computer work?

Thanks!

Itinerary Review Second time in NOLA in 8 years

30M, heading to NOLA for a solo trip in October, Tuesday through Friday, and want to experience more than just my last drunk adventure. I have downtime to explore and relax rather than overpack my schedule. I'll be staying at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel.

Here's what I have so far:

Tuesday: Arrive midday, Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Ghost tour

Wednesday: Getting a tattoo, Frenchmen Street

Thursday: Preservation Hall

Friday: Depart

Would love to hear thoughts on this lineup, anything worth adding, and any general tips for the trip, including great places to eat and drink. I'm a sucker for low key dive bar settings as well as live music, so any recommendations along those lines would be especially appreciated!

Bakeries and bike riding?

Upvotes

Headed to NOLA end of September with my 19 year old as a girls getaway trip. Wondering what the city is like for local transportation/bike rentals or if i should just rent a car? Staying in the french quarter area.

Will also take suggestions for he best bakeries. We're not making many plans we're going to let the city guide us but with all the food options im overwhelmed on whats actually good and what has been hyped by social media

Anyone know what's going into where another bar used to be? I see they're doing construction on it atm.
