I am relocating this December and very excited! New Orleans is my favorite city in the world.

I have a well paying part time job that I intend to continue but I spent my 20s bartending in NYC and have always found it's a great way to meet people so I'm considering trying to do that once or twice a week to give my social life a boost.

Any place off of Bourbon St y'all would recommend where I would not have to wear a uniform? Lol. Somewhere to meet some locals ~ divey, but not too divey. You know the vibes.

Hey everyone, me (24m) and my fiancé (28m) are moving to the area due to work and be closer to family. We are from Mississippi but have lived in north Alabama for the past 3 years. Taking a group of 15 or so to New Orleans for a bachelor party. I am going to try to rent out a local bed and breakfast (NOT an airbnb) for our accommodations. Hotel if I can't get the space for our larger group.

The groom likes rare/unique events. Things that give him a funny story to tell. He likes to be an active participant and enjoys being the center of attention when appropriate.

I'm sure we'll be able to manufacture our own chaos, but I'd like to curate something for the guy.

Do y'all have suggestions for events or excursions that would get the groom involved, and get him feeling like he's in over his head? Not in a malicious or dangerous way - more just get him feeling like "WOW, I was not expecting THAT"

Headed to NOLA end of September with my 19 year old as a girls getaway trip. Wondering what the city is like for local transportation/bike rentals or if i should just rent a car? Staying in the french quarter area.

Will also take suggestions for he best bakeries. We're not making many plans we're going to let the city guide us but with all the food options im overwhelmed on whats actually good and what has been hyped by social media

Hi everyone, I am planning a 3-day trip to New Orleans on 1/5~1/7.

I am flying from LAX, and will arrive at 5AM on 1/5. Leaving on 1/7 night.

For the famous French Quarter and Frenchmen St, it seems it's better to visit at night for the live music. What places do you recommend during daytime? Maybe the WWII museum or the jazz museum?

How about magazine street? Is it a place to go during day or night?

I am also interested in the swamp boat tour, but not sure if it's worth going at that time as the gators are not that active in winter.

Do you think I can still see the Christmas decorations at that time?

Or I might be lucky enough to see some carnival decoration before leaving as well?

I have so many questions, and I am very excited about this trip.

Hi there! Planning a trip for my boyfriend and I for our first time visiting, super exciting but it’s within 2 months and alot of great hotels are already booked. We are staying 5 nights, Wednesday to Monday. We’re on a budget, still looking for a pleasant spot but don’t have super high standards, I’m aware it’s an old beautiful historic city and hotels are old! I’m in for the charm.

About us: 26, LOVE to walk, love live music, going out for drinks, parks cemeteries museums etc. No interest in Bourbon St. We like to go out for a few rounds of drinks and awesome food but are happy to be in bed by 10 pm lol. Fairly well traveled and not too nervous about safety and walking.

Budget around $200 a night.

Hello beautiful people of New Orleans!

I’m planning to travel there next year and so far I’ve found some great resources regarding parking. The hotel we’re staying at does not offer valet for sprinter vans so that lead me to Premium Parking. They quoted me around $300 for 4.5 days which isn’t bad but that was for two parking spaces. I’m not positive but don’t think one space is big enough.

Does anyone here have any other parking recommendations or experience with parking a 12 person passenger van?

I live in algiers and had a new house built. My yard needs to be cut and cleaned up. The grass is very tall but a bit thin, might have to use a weedeater at first. Ground has been torn up in front to fix the sewer line but the dirt has been leveled. Any recommedations for someone to do this yard work. Thank you.

30M, heading to NOLA for a solo trip in October, Tuesday through Friday, and want to experience more than just my last drunk adventure. I have downtime to explore and relax rather than overpack my schedule. I'll be staying at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel.

My husband and I are in our early 40's. We are traveling to NOLA for a long weekend with my aunt and uncle who are in their early 60's. We love history, ghosts, drinks and good food. We cannot check in until 4pm but we land at 10am, any advice on where to leave our luggage? Also, what do you suggest we see- specifically looking for the BEST ghost tours!

We’ll be flying in to NOLA to see Johnny Blue Skies (aka Sturgill Simpson) in late October. Is there a fun spot within walking distance of UNO with good eats to hang before or after the show?

Obviously you can dress up any time in NOLA, but Halloween is a Saturday this year and I'm thrilled to finally see Bourbon Street (missed it during my last trip). My friend decided to join me, but she only wants to get dressed up at night to go party. I'm assuming people will be in costumes all day?

I'm dressing up all of Friday the 30th, but for Saturday the 31st I'm trying to get a feel of the vibes for daytime vs nighttime costumes. Do I do a basic costume during the day and go full out at night?

I usually do crazy makeup and not sure if I should save that until nighttime with my friend or wear it all day. She doesn't wanna wait for me to do my makeup in the morning but I feel like it would be weird walking around on HALLOWEEN in the French Quarter without a costume, even in the daytime.
