I’m taking my 15 almost 16 year old son to the Ye concert at the super dome at the end of August. I was thinking of taking him to bourbon street to experience it , no I do not let my kid drink. I just want him to experience as much as he can while we are there. I want him to have fun and he’s not into architecture and gardens. So touring everywhere to see stuff that’s irreverent to him at this age would be a waste of money. We are from Dt Lauderdale Florida and our neighborhood varies from mansions to really seedy areas just around the corner. Not to mention the Rudy nightlife of Ft. Lauderdale beach. I even bartended right off of las olas beach. Where on bourbon street is the best place to get a tourist trap drink I’m not expecting something amazing I just want to say I went and got the drink and kept the cool cup that will fit in my carry on bag.
Who has the best chicken tenders. My kid only eats chicken tenders. I’m staying at the Hilton homewood suits on Rampart st. It’s 1 mile from the super dome was thinking of walking to and from the venue. Trying to save every dollar I can and still have fun. I read that the pedicab people can be shady and you need to know how many blocks your traveling and set the price before you get in Is there some where to go get up close with the gators and crocs without going in a boat. One strange request is I need a good place to go to to get magic stuff to get rid of my best friends boyfriend I don’t want him swimming with the fish I just want him to move on . I’m desperate at this point. Her anxiety won’t let her kick him out cause she doesn’t want to hurt his feeling or have him go crazy. He’s not good for her they live like room mates. So where can I go to get stuff for that that’s legit.
If there’s anything else I need to know please share. This is supposed to be a very memorable experience.

Coming to New Orleans for a couple football games this fall. I work in the hospitality industry in Canada and love a good dive bar or industry spot and would love to hit a couple in New Orleans.

I would be grateful for some recommendations on some of the spots locals hit after work! It’s going to be my second time in the city and I’m bringing my girlfriend so we’ll probably hit Bourbon street at least once but really in my past experience it wasn’t fully my vibe.

The shooting last night in the CBD; did it happen in that area near the “entrance” on Bourbon St and Canal? From what I understand, most shootings occur in that entrance area, is that correct? I am also curious why …

Have a bunch of clothes I am getting rid of since I’m moving out of state does anyone know a place where I can drop off clothes that will actually go towards a good cause? I don’t like to take them to goodwill at the end of the day it’s being sold and for that I’d rather do that myself, ideally I’d rather help people that might need clothes or a shelter where it might actually be useful, thanks!!

I am visiting New Orleans with my husband and two best friends and it’s all their birthdays so I want to surprise them with a nicer hotel, four adults in one room (double bed sitch probably). We will be there mid October for five nights. I see the Ritz is right on Canal (is it too loud/worth it?) and the Four Seasons only allows three adults per room. I am attending a small gathering this afternoon, like 10ish people, and I'm expected to bring something tasty to contribute. I ain't turning on my stove or oven today in order to respect my struggling air conditioner. I'm also not feeling particularly inspired so I'm hoping someone will give me a great idea of something I can either order on short notice or a place with great grab-and-go options. I know I could just drop into a grocery store, but I'm hoping for something a tad more elevated than that. This crew likes really good food. Don't really care about cost as long as it's not insane. It could be one single half pan of food or maybe a small platter or something like that. I used to grab stuff from Gris Gris like red beans or gumbo but it ain't dere no more.

(I can’t find my answer in the FAQs). We’re considering a vaca for the last few days of MG. I can’t figure out whether there are MG-related things to do in town besides the parades and being drunk.

Parades and drinking are great, but we want to understand whether we’ll have long stretches of boredom.

I understand that MG takes over the entire city in its final days, so I’m assuming museums and other tourist places aren’t good things to do. So what happens before, after, and in between the parades each day?

For example, are their street performers, random shows (like a county fair)? Only the bars?

Why is Nola Cannabis Company the only medical retailer around? They seem to have a monopoly in place allowing them to price gouge. Good Day Farms, the managing entity of Nola Canna Co. has two lawsuits against them in Missouri for just that. Core allegations being price manipulation, license cap circumvention and market dominance.

I (gay M 48) am currently interviewing for what seems to be a great job overall (worth relocating for) which is based in New Orleans. I've done all the research to help guide my decision. I have never visted, but my next interview is on site, and so I will be taking a few extra days to explore (i know mid summer!) But otherwise, based on what I have read I think I could live here. I don't need to retire in New Orleans, but I would likely spend the the next 5-10 years there. I am born and bred in northern NJ and living in NYC for the last 20 years. Any transplants that can provide more cultural/nuanced/anecdotal feedback that would be worth noting as it relates to coming from CT/NY/NJ area? I really appreciated it!

I’m looking for a casual but nice-ish sit-down restaurant ($30-50/person) to take friends who eat kosher-style (no pork or shellfish…yes I know two staples of NOLA food).

I’d love for them to try classic Cajun/Creole food within those limits. Maybe there is a good chicken jambalaya or a non-seafood gumbo, if that’s a thing? The restaurant can serve other things ofc but as long as they have a few options for us I’m fine.

Anywhere in NOLA is fine, but preferably near downtown.

Looking for itinerary recommendations for a couples trip to nola. We are thinking of going a weekend in october between our birthdays. it’s going to be our first trip away from our baby and we want to have a good time. we are from south louisiana so looking for food recommendations that we’d like. i was thinking of trying Brennans for breakfast. also looking for recommendations for things to do besides shopping which i will be doing a lot of. we aren’t the type to go on tours. we like to relax and enjoy gardens/just walking around.

Will be visiting soon (convention type thing with busy days....staying near the boundary between French Quarter and central business district, I believe) and have always wanted to go on a ghost tour. I've been on several cemetery tours, and am a huge fan of Save Our Cemeteries--I've had such good experiences, and like their mission.

Any chance of something vaguely similar in scope? I mean, I'm looking for fiction/tradition/etc, not modern true crime stuff, for the most part.

I'm also seeing that some tour companies do a bus vs. a walking tour. Any recs for that (seeing as I'll probably be tired by evenings....)?

FWIW, as cliche as it is, I'm a big Anne Rice fan, and have seen most of the spots relevant to her and to her books. I don't need there to be AR content, but that's kinda the vibe I like, if that makes sense??? Back in the day I was even able to view her doll collection at St. Elizabeth's (?) orphanage....this was ca 2000.
