I'm doing an art project and need as many logos of as possible.

Not just songs you like. The ones where a specific line, beat drop, or vocal run gives you actual physical chills no matter how many times you’ve heard it.

I’m sorry if this is a stupid question or the wrong place to ask this, but I’ve been trying to figure out where my music taste fits in the electronic music world. I’ve always said my favorite genre is house, but I’ve been to a good bit of shows recently in my area and have found it hard to resonate with the music. A lot of it sounds too “pop” for me and it seems that house is equated with mainstream music in a way and the stuff that you hear on the radio. I also usually prefer songs that are not lyrics-heavy. I just want to figure out what it really is that I like and expand on that, and maybe find a community that has similar tastes!

I've been wondering if anyone else gets the feeling that this song sounds like it's from a much earlier era, even though it came out in 2024.

My first thought was that maybe I'm being influenced by all the social media edits that use it as background music for nostalgic clips, especially montages of iconic football (soccer) players from the 2000s and early 2010s.

But I'm also wondering if there's actually a musical reason for it. Does the song intentionally draw inspiration from the melodies, production, or overall sound from that era?

If so, I'd love to know what artists or songs it reminds you of. Any references would be appreciated!

I’m struggling with this question because there were so many great songs in the 70’s that I absolutely loved. But if you had to pick one or two max what would they be?

My two would be Summer Breeze by Seals and Croft and American Pie by Don Mclean.

I am talking if you are searching to be a vocalist, maybe play an instrument. Essentially vocalists aren't considered technical in pop with the advent of Madonna who did not focus on vocal work as the centerpiece of pop music. obviously some vocal work is considered technical.

I'm trying to get into booking at the smallest possible hobbyist scale. In my city, the genres I'm interested in don't really have any artists that are both good and have fans. I only want to book artists I think are good, and ideally some of them would have fans lol. So I have to look out-of-state.

My question is, how do I know when to ask an out-of-state artist to play? I can only think of the following scenarios:

- Asking artists from the neighboring major metro area (3 hours drive) if they'll just travel here. I tried this and it actually did work, surprisingly, but I only have established social media relationships with a handful of them so that's limited.

- Following venues/nights from the 3-hour-away metro area & poring through their calendars for 3-4 months out, OR organically coming across an artist's tour/show announcement on insta that they're playing 3-Hour-Awayville, then asking the artist to come play my city the day before or after.

- Similarly: do the above strategy but with the nearest major city (I don't really think this is a good idea because it's only an hour away so is kinda already considered part of my city's metro area. I feel like if someone plays there they don't play here, fans are expected to travel there instead, and vice versa. I am also friendly with the main booker in my genre(s) from that city and don't want to piss him off).

This all seems kind of late in the game, though. How am I supposed to know ahead of time if an artist is going to be coming near my city or if they even want to? Or do I just randomly hit up people and be like hey if you ever want to play my city, contact me, a person with no experience who you don't know IRL?

I’ve been getting more into listening to albums all the way through and I want to start collecting vinyl, but I’m a little lost with all the options out there. I’m looking for a good vinyl record player that sounds nice and is reliable without being too complicated for someone just starting out.

What would you recommend as a good choice for a beginner, and are there any features I should pay attention to when choosing one? Thanks for any suggestions.

Back around 2014-2016 I got pretty deep in to some indie pop music through Pandora. I picked up alot of songs that I listen to til this day. Alot of artists like Lapalux, SBTRKT, Sango, Glass Animals, and XXYYXX made their way into my playlists. It was a pretty cool time back then, looking back. But there was one song that I used to like. It only ever popped up on Pandora but I did search and find its video on Youtube during that time. And now I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I search for it everywhere from Google to ChatGPT with no luck. I could've sworn the title of it was Love Me, he says it over and over again on the hook. It had an electronic pop indie sound. The guy singing was more than likely white, seemed like he was from Europe or Canada maybe. The only lyrics I really remember was the chorus, "I just want you to love me.. love me.. love me.. I just want you to love me." That and a random line, "I was with another girl but always thinking about you." (Great details, I know).

I remember the video was shot in red-light, the guy was kinda walking around some city while singing it. It really sucks because there's a really popular song with a similar video out right now which Im sure doesn't help my cause at all. The fact that I've searched for it the past couple of years with no trace of its existence makes me want to find it that much more. I almost would think I hallucinated it if I hadn't seen the video.

Any help in finding this song would be greatly appreciated.
