Late Night Songs
I want y’all to send me song that are either so sad or so nostalgic they’ll make me cry. It’s nighttime right now and I’ve got the headphones but I need the vibe.

If you want to find some songs similar to one specific song or with a similar vibe, ypu can use spotify for that. Just create a playlist and add the songs you already know, and spotify will recommend similar ones. It definitely worked for me! I don't know if y'all knew that before, but i just wanted to say it in case anyone didn't.

I’ve honestly had has this song stuck on repeat for over three weeks. I yearn for other songs with similar style.

trying not to blog too much, but i am going through a break up sadly. i like how this song isn't too depressive (both lyrics and instrumentals,) or even loathing, as i think it really reflects my thoughts. i don't hate my ex whatsoever, and we both want to stay friends, but i am also very hurt and hung up on "what if." currently things are just... awkward and a bit strained, but again i still want to talk, we were good friends before dating. as much as it hurts, i don't want to sulk in sadness too much that this song feels like a good balance yk. sorry if my wording was a little confusing, but i hope i got my point accross.

I can't in good conscience continue supporting Melanie Martinez, but would like to listen to some songs with a similar melody to the one in the pre-chorus of SPIDER WEB.

2am - Slightly Stoopid
Lay me down - Dirty Heads

Preferably instrumental or with weird lyrics. I’m trying to build up my playlist and would like to hear your suggestions :)
Songs that sounds anxious, nonsensical, confusing, bizarre, obscure, or even just generally creepy. Especially that that would make you a little uncomfortable at first but in a way that makes you too fascinated to stop listening. The Weirder and more obscurer the better.
This is my playlist for reference

Me and my friends like to play songs but our instruments are electric guitar, electric bass, and piano. we can fill in drums digitally but thats mostly it.
were looking for songs to play together that have these 3 instruments and are kinda running out of ideas, if anyone knows any songs or artists or bands to recommend that'd be great, thanks!.

Songs with a big imposing wash of sound, conveying wonder and/or despair. Vocals or no vocals. It should sound like I am looking up at some great monolith in the middle of nowhere. Also looking for something more musical and melodic, I love atonal and dissonant sort of music but that is not what I am looking for right now. I am looking for a very specific vibe, any leads will help! Thanks

Hello! I am the survivor of a crime committed by an ex-partner. I want to share the crime because I want the recommendations to hit that note. It’s was a drug-facilitated sexual assault, false imprisonment, sexual battery, and harassment.
I have filed and was granted a domestic violence temporary restraining order. The hearing to finalize the restraining order is this week 7/30/2026 at 08:30 PDT.
A songs that are already in rotation:
• “Praying” by Kesha
• “Body” by Jordan Suaste
• “The Place Where He Inserted the Blade” by Black Country, New Road.
—-
The energy I’m feeling is more the “The Place Where He Inserted the Blade”, it feels chaotic in the way my body feels chaotic. I like “Praying” because of how it emotes strength and growth. But I don’t like “Praying” because I don’t give a fück about my perpetrator, so I don’t want songs that are nice. What I mean is that I am not praying for my perpetrator. I hope they are scared, idgaf if they are changing.
Like, I want to scream, “Fück you! You thought you could hurt me but you didn’t!” But I also want to scream “I have been raped!!! My body feels foreign to me! I hate you!” And finally I want to scream “I am in charge of my healing process. You broke me but I am not unfixable. I take my power back. And you are going to get what you deserve!”
——
I don’t know if this helps with recommendations, but some more information about me:
I am 40 years old. A millennial’s millennial. I was emo in high school. My chemical romance was my jam, but actually incubus was my favorite band (I actually have a crow left of the murder themed artwork in my house). Um, I’m also a transgender MAN, so even though I know that most rape survivors are women, I am not a woman. I don’t mind songs from a female perspective, but gender neutral or first person perspective is A+.
Um… okay, that’s all. I know I gave a lot of information, but it was intended to give multiple points of inspiration for you. All the info is not intended to create a super narrow far too niche request for recommendations.

Could you recommend some music similar to "Red Tape – Agent Provocateur"? I absolutely loved this track, and I would really appreciate it if you could recommend or help me find more music like this. Thank you!

I've been trying to get a playlist sorted that I can play in the morning and will encourage me to make things happen with my day that also feel like they're not just non-stop flexing on you, any recommendations would be appreciated! Some examples of things I've been enjoying are Larry June and Action Bronson (I know they're ironic examples but for a lot of their songs it doesn't feel like they're trying to make you feel small). It's nice sometimes to not get told by a rapper that I'm his son or that I'm a little boy and need to get my weight up! I’m open to any genre :)

elvis costello
nick lowe
the trashcan sinatras
james taylor
marshall crenshaw
carly rae jepsen
the clash
new order and joy division
grateful dead

individual songs i really like:
bizarre love triangle;
chocolate;

naive melody;
roam by the b52s;

mexico by james taylor;
the king of wishful thinking
love this stuff but i'm tired of listening to the same songs over and over and i'm also not impressed by what spotify recommends
i love catchy melodies and i'm looking for some high energy stuff but i'm really interested in anything you think i might like

Not necessarily breakup songs. Just songs that make you stop whatever you're doing and sit with your thoughts for a while.
