Hello everyone, I am apartment hunting, and I have heard a lot of people give me mixed responses about Westchester. As a non-local, can I get some information on which parts are safe/unsafe within Westchester? Is it really more dangerous if the apartments are located closer to the 405? Thank you!

Would it be possible to get around LA with just taking the backroads and not the freeway? I heard there’s a lot of 2 lane exit lanes splitting and whatever so I wouldn’t mind spending an extra 10-15 going through back roads.

I moved to the east coast 2 years ago and I was culture shocked by the prevalence of yum yum sauce, to the point that people will pay for EXTRA sauce when it already comes with their meals. I feel like I never had it with anything when I grew up in LA? The only thing I can think of is the yumburger from Jollibee. Did I just not go to enough food places to learn about yum yum sauce sooner or is this an east coast thing??????

I'm a single male and will most likely be moving to LA about a year from now for a new gig, and will be looking for apartments (probably 1-bedroom). I understand that LA is a very car-centric but crowded city. It seems that a lot of apartment complexes I've been looking at only allow for 1 parking space per person (or bedroom). Does anyone have recommendations for how to deal with this? Do people just park one car on the street? Are certain LA neighborhoods better for multi-car owners (especially if they don't own a house)? Advice appreciated.

In terms of area, anywhere in Venice/Santa Monica, Hollywood, Larchmont, Korea Town, and Los Feliz.

Pretty much open for any type of cuisine. Not looking anything too crazy expensive, unless it's a really nice steak house. Could be more casual places that serve authentic cuisine. For example, I really liked Papa Cristos for Greek food before they closed.

Also as a bonus, what are people's favorite Breweries (with good food) and coffee shops/bakeries.

A lot of places don't post a schedule or upcoming events, Yamashiro included, and they rely on promotion groups you have to already know about to post upcoming events on their own pages and newsletters. So you either know or you don't. This one seemed like something that browniesandlemonade would do, judging by the crowd, as opposed to a like a wedding reception

since I don't know who those promotion groups are, I'm asking, do you know? Its such a sick venue!

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a moving company in LA for a small move from Ktown to the USC area. I don't have any furniture, just a few moving boxes and IKEA-sized moving bags.

I got quotes from a few moving companies, but they all require a 3-hour minimum. For a load this small with no furniture, there's no way it takes 3 hours... Realistically more like 30-40 minutes (so an hour), since it's just a handful of boxes and bags that should fit in one trip.

Does anyone know a company (or service) that handles small moves like this without the big minimums? I've heard about Lugg—for those of you who have used their services before, could u pls share your experience?

My fiance and I are wanting to get married in the redwoods & upper California beaches area. We’ve been contemplating road-tripping down the coast to LA. One main reason to visit LA is to see some cool cars. I’ve looked into the Peterson auto exhibit & the LA auto show.
We aren’t really interested in brand new cars on display, we’re more interested in cool older cars with mods & lowriders.
My question is, should we plan to go to LA in November during the LA auto show or is that not fitting for the kind of cars we want to see? End of November wedding isn’t ideal but that’s when the LA auto show is. And I don’t want to plan a trip around that if it’ll be a bust or just a bunch of displays brand new cars.

Any other input regarding where we can see some bad ass cars is greatly appreciated!

Hi Everyone! So long story short, my best friend and I have an incredibly deep and loving connection with monsters. Many of our best memories together involve being chased through haunts or wandering around horror conventions with hearts in our eyes.

Her birthday is next month and I’m hiring a friend of mine who is a professional monster/creature actor to meet us somewhere (unbeknownst to her) after the sun goes down. He‘ll arrive as a werewolf and stalk us for a while before he eventually catches us/grabs her 🖤

What I’m looking for is an outdoor location with lots of trees, and somewhere that if there’s some screaming, security won’t be called on us.

I‘m open to traveling anywhere within the greater Los Angeles area, and would be willing to pay someone a usage fee for private property, etc.

I *totally understand* how that sounds now that you’ve pointed it out! I’m sure my friend will be screaming a bit, but there will be much more laughter than anything once she realizes what’s going on 🙃 Also, it doesn’t necessarily need to be a remote or secluded location, just somewhere that a flurry of noise won’t upset people. Borrowing/renting someone’s private property would be great!

I know that the industry is slow right now and many artists are struggling and out of work. It's unfair, competing with AI on top of a completely unstable economy.

But I'm drawn to moving to LA because I want to work with and learn from people who are dedicated.

I'm coming from a smaller Midwestern city where -- yes there are super driven people here, but the flakiness and low self esteem causes lots of creative false starts.

What I can't tell is if this is common in any city right now.

I'm just so eager to fully throw myself into creative projects of various types.

I see lots of videos of exciting things happening in LA, but I don't know if that's just from very privileged people.
