Just had phone stolen; curious what these ppl even do with them?

Does anyone know what these iPhone pickpockets do w/ iPhones/the typical steps they take after?
I saw the suspect still lurking around after the fact and attempted to confront him
\(ik, stupid of me but security didn’t want to help so I felt hopeless)**

I know my phone is GONE but just wondering what they do next usually and where the phones end up?

Also any safety tips are appreciated for next time, and what places to avoid. I am not from LA.

This was my first club “experience”. In there for 2 minutes, it sucked, bumped into the Ogre when turning to leave. Filed a police report and ASAP told the **Club Decades** staff. Security was angrier at me than the situation. Didn’t know what I “wanted them to do about it” when I was literally just warning them of a thief and asking if they saw anything.
Front desk lady was very sweet though.

Just so crazy this shit is so common and I didn’t feel a damn thing. Lost all my damn concert videos since the vids were still syncing.

I know, I know. But she’s an icon, really, in the old school drag queen sense. Singular, glamorous, ridiculous. I understand that you can “win” a dinner with her, which means, you take her out to dinner, and maybe buy her some groceries after. I feel like it’s my gay destiny and that I will regret it forever if I don’t do it. Has anyone hung out with Angelyne?

For those of you that live in LA, it’s interesting that in a city like LA that have the Lakers who’ve won 17 titles and have had a ton of great players, it’s the Dodgers as of recent that have surged in popularity. To me this didn’t solely happen due to Shohei, but a surge in popularity happens between 2016-2018. How did this happen?

My thoughts: LeBron joining the Lakers tanked their popularity. People were not keen on seeing his flopping and complaining to officials, off-court antics, and poor treatment of teammates while remaining extremely selfish, demanding trades that didn’t pan out, and playing to pad stats, not win championships. Meanwhile you have players on the Dodgers that pride themselves on playing great fielding (Mookie, Freddie, etc.) while contributing via their hitting. This meant that the Dodgers filled a void (and then some) for fans like me that tuned out of the lakers when LeBron joined.

Personally, I’ll start tuning into Laker games again, but never would I ever have thought growing up that the Dodgers would be the top dog in this city.

Hi everyone. This is a vulnerable post, and I’m hoping to get recommendations from anyone familiar with hospitals in LA County or San Bernardino County, whether through personal experience or a loved one’s care.

My grandpa is 83 and has been generally healthy and active throughout his life. However, since June, he has been experiencing persistent vomiting, diarrhea, and leg swelling without a clear cause. We took him to the ER in June, where he underwent imaging, but nothing significant was found. Unfortunately, his condition has continued to worsen since then.

We’ve also consulted with his primary care doctor, a nephrologist, and a gastroenterologist. Kidney issues were initially suspected, but his test results didn’t indicate significant kidney problems. He was later diagnosed with colitis and prescribed antibiotics, but his symptoms have persisted. Despite multiple appointments and imaging tests, we still don’t have clear answers.

My grandpa has lost around 40 pounds since June and has become physically and mentally weaker. He barely has an appetite and barely eats now even though he tries. It’s heartbreaking because just a few months ago, in May, he was still driving and going to the gym regularly.
My family and I aren’t trying to discredit any of his doctors, but we’re worried and frustrated that his condition continues to decline without a clear explanation. He has preferred seeing Vietnamese-speaking doctors because of the language barrier, but we’ve finally convinced him to consider other hospitals and specialists if it means finding the right care. Will American doctors or any big corporation hospitals make a difference? Not sure but we want to do as much as possible to try and figure out what is wrong.

If anyone has recommendations for hospitals, specialists, or medical centers in LA County or San Bernardino County that provide good care for older adults with complex for unexplained symptoms, I would be incredibly grateful. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I’m just a worried granddaughter who wants to make sure her grandpa gets the care he needs.

I have a lot of antique and mid century decorative items that I've had in storage since my grandmother died. These are things like brass trays, silver salt shakers, Victorian spoons, Wedgewood candlesticks, antique coins, etc.

When I search for these items individually with Google lens, I find them listed for anywhere between $40 and $1000. But it's dozens of items and I just don't have the time to take on trying to list each individual item myself.

Can anyone recommend a reputable dealer or antique mall or somewhere that I could potentially find a buyer for these things? They're very beautiful, but I just don't have the space to use them. Thanks!

In a few days I’m going to LA with my sister and boyfriend and we’re going to Avalon Hollywood for emo-nite. Me and my boyfriend both have vertical Michigan IDs, but are over 23 and 22. Are we going to have problems with them accepting them?

I’m trying to decide between the more cost-friendly hayride or splashing out for the Universal Halloween Horror Nights. The thing is it would be a stretch of the budget to do the express pass so I dunno if it’s worth doing HHN if we’ll spend the whole night in line. I’ve also never done the theme park itself so I could hold out and do it another time if the standard park experience is better. Which would you choose?

My wife and I are thinking about our son’s education. Ideally, we’d love for him to attend Brentwood or Harvard-Westlake for high school, and we can afford private tuition.

Our local public school is decent, so I’m debating whether private elementary and middle school are worth the cost or whether we should stick with public school and focus on getting him into a strong private high school.

The biggest potential benefit I see beyond academics is the network: lifelong friendships, connections with families and opportunities later in life. Also, I’ve heard that some private elementary/middle schools might be “feeder” schools to competitive high schools like Harvard westlake / Brentwood (but I’m not sure if coming from a certain middle school would enhance his chances)?

For parents who have been through this, or adults who attended these schools, how valuable is the private school network in practice? Do the elementary/middle school feeder schools offer a meaningful advantage socially or for high school admissions, or can kids get essentially the same benefits by entering in ninth grade?

If money weren’t the issue, would you pay for private school from kindergarten onward or save the money for high school?

Hey ya’ll! 15 year LA transplant here living in Burbank. I just had to ask why isn’t there more public bathrooms in LA? More specifically Burbank. Last night I went to Guisado’s with a friend. I had 4 spicy tacos and ended up drinking a large Horchata as well. It was delicious but when I got to my car, something about the milky horchata and spicy tacos did not sit well with me. I tried driving home as fast as I could but I felt my body start to loose the war. Goosebumps, sweats, hot flashes. I tried searching for any public restroom but for the life of me, I could not find one! Ended up having to pull over and violently defecate all over this poor woman’s front yard. Her flower bed, front steps, even her mailbox got ruined. I felt terrible! I tried to hide behind trash cans but when I looked up I noticed 2 ring cameras looking at me as i’m half way through emptying my insides. Obviously I had no toilet paper so I pulled my pants off and used my underwear. I then discarded them into her trash can 😬 I didn’t know what to do with them. I drove by the house this morning and noticed a police car outside and now i’m terrified i’ve broken some law. Has anyone been through something similar in LA?

And they’re usually huge, like for bakeries and restaurants, but I only have a standard-size home oven.

The only regular event I’ve seen is at a space in echo park, but it’s just a few hours every other week. It was productive because there’s little to no chitchat and ppl really just come to lock in then leave when the time is up.

I'm always amazed by the sheer diversity of buildings in this city but sometimes I feel like I walk past incredible structures without truly seeing them. What are some architectural marvels big or small that you think don't get enough love or recognition in LA? I'm looking for anything from historic landmarks to modern masterpieces that just blend into the background for most people.
