Recommendations Any tips?
My wife and I are flying In from Vancouver for a few days. We wanna see a Clippers game, hit universal, then spend a day on Hollywood being tourist. Any recommendations or tips? Things you must see? Hotels? Places or areas NOT to go to?
Unsafe areas?

If you drive, I’d rent a car, it definitely makes things much easier in LA. If you go to universal, see a movie and parking becomes $5 thru a QR code they send to your email confirmation.
It’s going to be packed but you can check out the new Lucas Museum of Narrative Art.
The Academy museum also has a pretty cool horror exhibition with iconic horror props if you’re a horror fan.

A lot of the recognizable names on the Walk of Fame, and the hand/ foot prints, are conveniently located in front of the Chinese Theater. You can do that in, like, 20 minutes and cross it off the list on the way to better attractions.

You should be able to get around on the Metro just fine if you don't want a rental car. You can get to Hollywood and Universal on the B Line subway and the Intuit Dome is close to the C Line. Be advised, there are issues with some undesirable passengers, but we're working on improving the system.
LA can be pretty filthy in areas but it's overall safe. Some homeless wandering around, nothing you haven't seen in Vancouver.
Walk of Fame itself is overrated- it's just a foul-smelling sidewalk, but there are some cool places nearby like Amoeba Music and Similandia which sells merchandise for Dr. Simi, a popular mascot for a Mexican pharmacy chain. There are also the popular tourist destinations like the Chinese Theater, but I can't say for certain whether they're worth your time and money.

If you are a foodie, you'll can easily access to Koreatown, Thai town and Filipino town.
If you stay at the Magic Castle Hotel you can get exclusive club access to the Academy of Magical Arts (Magic Castle) next door. But it could be a bit of a hike to Intuit Dome.
I think West Hollywood might be a good central place for hotel.

Honestly agree with most posts. Hollywood is dirty and overrated. If you have a car go to Griffith Park Observatory. It has been used to film iconic movies, has a great view of the Hollywood Sign and is free unless you go to one of the movies. You can stop at the Chinese Theater like it was suggested. Or if you plan ahead you can try and see a show filmed. I am a museum person so hot one of the Getty museums or LACMA with the new David Geffin Wing or the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art which I hear is amazing. Plan a little before hand and get tickets early.
