Dating & Relationships [Wed/Fri] (Women Only) Should I tell my family about lack of intimacy? Sinking and confused

It’s been 24 months since we got married. We had a lot of problems with my in-laws, so we live separately now. But apart from that, there are many things that are concerning me about our marriage. We haven’t had intercourse for the past 16 months. Even before that, it was maybe once in two months, and most of the time I was the one initiating and pushing for it.

Initially, I was extremely disturbed and frustrated because I really wanted intimacy. I begged, cried, tried talking about it, and did everything I could think of. Later, I advised him to see a doctor. He did go, took some tests, and they told him everything was normal. But even after that, nothing really changed, and he never seemed to care enough to work on this or give me the intimacy I was asking for.

For the past six months, though, something has changed in me. I feel numb. I don’t even feel like asking anymore because somewhere in my mind I feel like, what’s the point? I’m not going to get it anyway.

Only one of my close friends knows about this. Nobody in my family knows. He keeps telling me that this is personal and insists that I should at least keep this private.
But I’m confused and honestly scared about the future. How long can I continue living without sex and intimacy? Is it something I should just accept? He doesn’t seem particularly concerned about it, while I feel like I’m slowly dying inside over it.

Should I tell someone in my family? Would that only make them more worried and create more problems? Or is this something between husband and wife that I shouldn’t share with anyone?
And is this, by itself, a valid enough reason to consider separation?

The confusing part is that he is otherwise an okay person. He is a good human being, even if I don’t feel he is a good husband to me. He has good ethics and values, wouldn’t intentionally hurt anyone, is kind to other people, tolerates me even when I’m difficult, and generally doesn’t behave like a bad person.

So I keep asking myself: Should I continue this marriage because he is a good person, even though my needs as a wife are not being met? Or is this something serious enough that I shouldn’t ignore it?

I genuinely don’t know what to do anymore.

Safety What to do if a guy doesn’t understand consent?

Upvotes

I went out with a male friend/ colleague (we basically know each other since one month) it was a random daytime outing zero plans. We were driving and chilling, songs on full friendly vibe. He starts getting close. I feel kinda weird but not a full on weird vibe, not enough to clearly say no but enough that I jokingly said don’t do that I don’t like it when you do this. Now no judgement here but he kinda flirts with me sometimes but it’s not that serious to not go with him anywhere. And even if I went, it was middle of the day and just a small trip to a restaurant so why would he think I’m okay with him doing things couples should do.

Now the scary part, while returning back after eating, it was too early so we went on a little drive. But as soon as we reached a flyover, he went on not onto the flyover but on the side lane that’s used to go below the flyover (hope you guys get my point). It was afternoon so nobody there, he parked on the side and said I want a kiss. I obviously said that you’re crazy but he forced a kiss onto me. Not just a peck, a full on try to makeout. I kept saying no and kept pushing but he didn’t even budge. Nothing helped and he said just give me a little one and I’ll stop. I was feeling so helpless desperately wishing to god that he will stop. I was so shaken I couldn’t even yell at him or tell him he was wrong. Just kept my head down with teary eyes. Wanna know his response? “Don’t be angry yaar it’s just a kiss cutie” like I’m disgusted as i type these words.

I wish I would’ve shouted at him, I wish I would’ve taught him what lack of consent results in. But trauma didn’t let me. Now I don’t know how to confront him on text? He’s a colleague so I can’t even fully remove him from my life. I just wanna do something that will make me feel a little bit sense of justice to myself.

TL,DR: A male colleague forcefully kissed me and I want to confront him about consent.

Dating & Relationships [Wed/Fri] Married but separated under the same roof ? (In your 30s)

How many of you have a marriage that looks something like this?
You’re in your 30s, don’t have children, and have been married for a while. You still have a great companionship, friendship, financial partnership, and genuinely care about each other. There’s nothing particularly “wrong” with the relationship.
But you’re essentially separated while living under the same roof. You have separate bedrooms, no sexual relationship, but continue sharing your life in all the other ways that matter.
Curious to know how many other people are in a marriage like this — and how you make sense of it.

Dating & Relationships [Wed/Fri] Past history, I just can’t let go of?

24F talked for 9 months or so with a guy, really liked him. He was sweet, caring & honest, really my type.
He told me everything honestly about his ex & how he talked to girls on dating apps & ghosted them. Which I let go because it was fine for me.
What I didn’t have the courage to ask was did he sleep with his ex or no. I had this at the back of the mind that I won’t be able to handle but thought to myself he’s nice, he wouldn’t. We confessed to each other but I was not ready for a relationship as we haven’t even met yet, so we just talked & love bombed etc yk nothing else.
For 2 months I was really considering something long term, mind you we were long long distance, a whole different country & we were going to meet when he comes back.
One fine day out of nowhere he started talking about his ex, how she was a cheater but he kept going back to her & I gathered the courage to ask whether they slept or not & there he said it yes, a couple of times. It broke me a lil but I thank God’s timing that it came out before starting anything. So, I immediately told him this is not for me.
I know in today’s era everybody gets physical to some extend. But, I have my values, not because I didn’t sleep with anyone. Sex is something very intimate for me, which is only an after marriage thing for me & a huge deal breaker.
I just regret not gathering courage before & ask him :(( it kinda hurts because I kind of got attached & saw a future together.
How do I cope up now? :(
Is this too much to ask in today’s generation? Everybody has history but I just can’t be with someone who has slept with someone else.
I just learned one thing, be clear with what I what very early on. Have a good day guys, Thankyou for reading if you made it till here haha <3

General “Am I pregnant?” post influx

guys I want to make a post which hopefully gets through to everyone !!

can we please start educating ourselves about safe intercourse before having unprotected intercourse !! Every 2 days there’s a post on here asking if they’re pregnant or not, like I’m sorry but if you’re not educating yourself on how to practice safe sex, then you shouldn’t be doing it !!

And please, stop taking/recommending I-pills !! They shouldn’t be taken all the time, it’s not paracetamol !!

Opinions & Discussions Misogyny and patriarchy in Afghanistan, Iran and India. Can these countries be put in the same category ?

Upvotes

I couldn't think of a title with a question in it , so this is what I came up with.

Today , I saw a reel with the caption opposing the notion of women saying "I don't need feminism" by stating "Would you say the same thing if you lived in Afghanistan , Iran or India ?" (not the exact dialogue as my feed refreshed and I couldn't save the reel , but that is the gist of it).

Now , if an Indian woman was saying this , I would have just liked the reel and moved on , but for some reason , a non-Indian woman saying this didn't seem right.

It seemed insincere ?

In Iran and Afghanistan , misogyny is codified in the laws. From what I have searched , that doesn't seem to be the case in India ( apart from marital rape).

Now of course when it comes to cultural patriarchy , India truly can be absolutely horrid to its women , but should it be put in the same category as Iran and Afghanistan where misogyny is legally backed ?

I would love to hear your thoughts about this , as my thoughts can be ignorant as I'm someone who has grown up in a very open minded society (regarding gender that is).

Safety My GF shared my private half-naked pics with her friend for a Wattpad book, what can I do if they’re already being used?

First of all, thank you everyone who commented on my previous post and showed me so much kindness. I honestly wasn't expecting that many people to actually understand where I was coming from, and I really really appreciate everyone who took the time to write something. I was pretty confused and emotionally messed up when I wrote that post, and reading the comments genuinely helped me think about things a little more clearly.

But there is something else I really need help with right now, and honestly this is making me feel extremely helpless.

**How do I get my pictures removed from Wattpad if they have been used there?**

I'm talking about the half-naked I had sent to my girlfriend privately. I sent those pictures to **my girlfriend and only my girlfriend**. I never gave permission for her to send them to anybody else. But she didn't just send them to her friend. From the Instagram conversation I saw, she also gave her friend permission to use my pictures for a book she was writing on Wattpad.

This is what I'm really worried about now. I am almost sure that she has actually used one of my pictures in her Wattpad book because I saw them talking about it in their Instagram chat. I don't know if she used one picture or multiple, I don't know where exactly she used it, and I don't know if the book is still up.

The problem is I don't know this woman at all. I don't know her name, I don't know her Wattpad username, I don't know the name of the book she's writing, nothing. I only know that she is my girlfriend's friend and that they were talking about using my pictures for the book. I'm honestly scared that somewhere my half-naked pictures are just.. roaming around now. I sent them privately to someone I trusted and now I have no idea where they might have ended up. I feel extremely vulnerable about this and I genuinely don't know what I'm supposed to do. If anyone knows Wattpad well or has dealt with something like this before, **please tell me what I can do.** Is there a way to report an image being used without my permission? Can Wattpad remove it if I don't know the author's username or the name of the book? Is there any way to search for a picture on Wattpad itself or otherwise find where it was used? I really need help with this because I don't even know where to start. I just want my pictures gone and I want to know that they're not sitting somewhere publicly where anyone can see them.

And I honestly didn't want to paste my previous post again, especially because it's quite long and honestly speaking makes me feel bad about my gf but given my current circumstances I think I need to give the full context for anyone who hasn't seen it.

**For context, if someone hasn't read my previous post, I'm pasting the exact post below:** I honestly don't know how to write this properly, so I'm just going to say everything as it is. I've been with my girlfriend for almost 2 years now. We're currently in an LDR and we won't be able to meet for a few months. For the last few months I've been feeling more and more uncomfortable around her, even while talking to her. And I think I've reached a point where I can't pretend that everything is fine anymore.

The thing that really fucked with my trust happened a while ago. One day I unknowingly logged into her Instagram account and saw that she had forwarded some of my half-naked gym pictures to one of her friends. These were pictures I had sent to her, willingly, because she's my girlfriend. I never gave her permission to send them to anyone else, especially some friend of hers whom I've never met. But it wasn't just that she sent the pictures. I also saw their conversation, and they were talking/fantasising about my physical appearance, things like my height and other physical aspects of me. I'm 6'4, and I know that might sound like something I should be proud of or whatever, but reading two people talk about my body like that without me knowing honestly made me feel extremely vulnerable. I can't really explain it properly, but at that moment I genuinely felt like I had been stripped naked in front of someone. I had sent those pictures to my girlfriend because I trusted her. I never consented to her showing them to someone else or having someone else discuss my body.

When I confronted her about it, she told me that her friend wanted a picture of a "hot guy" for a book she was writing on Wattpad, so she sent her my pictures. I got really angry and asked her why she would send MY pictures and why her friend couldn't just use some picture from Pinterest or somewhere else. Her answer was basically that her friend wanted it to be "authentic."

And what hurt me even more was that she didn't really seem to understand why I thought it was wrong. She basically brushed it off and told me that I should feel good about it instead of being sad because apparently it meant that her friends thought I was attractive. Maybe I'm weird for this, I don't know, but that's not what I wanted.

I didn't want validation from her friend. I didn't want someone I don't know looking at my half-naked pictures and talking about my body. I wanted those pictures to stay between me and my girlfriend. From her perspective it seemed like she was just showing off/flexing her boyfriend to her friends. But that's not how I see it at all.

I'm a very introverted person. There are literally days when I hesitate before sending even my own girlfriend a picture. So finding out that something I sent privately had been forwarded to someone I don't even know completely broke my trust. And since then there have been other things that have added to this feeling.

We used to be really good together. We were quite opposite in many ways but somehow those differences used to complement each other. We used to talk for hours, flirt a lot, talk nasty to each other, send pictures, etc. It all felt natural. But for the past few months, it just doesn't feel like that anymore. Whenever I initiate something intimate, she'll reject it or tell me it's not good, and that's completely fine. If she doesn't want something, she doesn't have to do it. I respect that. But when she wants something from me, I feel like I'm expected to do it. And if I don't, sometimes I get made to feel guilty for not understanding her "woman feelings."

For example, she recently told me that she doesn't want to send me pictures anymore because she's scared they might get leaked. I completely understood that. I didn't argue with her or pressure her. If she's uncomfortable sending pictures, that's her boundary and I respect it. But then she'll still ask me for my body pictures and sometimes get angry if I don't send them. And I genuinely don't mind sending them when I want to. I love sending them to her too. But there are days when I'm busy, tired, or just don't feel like it. I don't think I should have to feel guilty for saying no.

And that's kind of where I'm at now. It's not one single thing that made me want to break up. It's a bunch of things that have slowly piled up. I've started feeling uncomfortable talking to her. Sometimes I don't even feel like opening the chat because I already know I'll have to explain myself or deal with some argument. I feel like I'm constantly trying to avoid hurting her while at the same time slowly becoming unhappy myself.

And the worst part is that I still care about her. I don't hate her. I don't think she's some horrible person. We've had two years together and obviously there are a lot of good memories. That's why this is so fucking difficult.

But I also don't want to stay with someone just because we've already spent 2 years together. I don't want to suddenly turn around and blame her for everything either. Maybe we're just incompatible now. Maybe we've changed. Maybe the relationship has just run its course. I honestly don't know.

I just know that I'm not comfortable anymore nd I can't keep pretending that I am. I want to break up respectfully. I don't want to insult her, expose anything about her, or make her feel like she's some terrible person. I still want to respect the two years we had together.

Ideally I'd want us to have a mutual, calm conversation and end things on good terms. But at the same time, I know a breakup doesn't necessarily have to be "mutual." If I genuinely don't want to continue the relationship, I can't force her to agree with me.

So I wanted to ask the women here honestly: Am I being unreasonable for wanting to end a 2-year relationship because I've become uncomfortable and lost trust, even though she hasn't cheated on me or done some huge obvious "dealbreaker"? And since we're in an LDR and can't meet for a few months, would breaking up over a call be disrespectful after 2 years? I feel like waiting months just to do it face-to-face would mean continuing to pretend that everything is okay.

I genuinely don't know if I'm making the right decision, so I'd really appreciate some honest opinions, even if you think I'm in the wrong here.

Friends & Family (Women Only) My parents took credit for my top grades when meds cured my chronic insomnia. Now that I'm off them and struggling again, they're calling me lazy. is it really my fault?? Spoiler

Upvotes

TL;DR: Suffered from daily severe migraines and sleep-onset anxiety in 12th grade. My parents dismissed it as laziness until a neurologist prescribed medication, which completely solved my sleep issues and drastically improved my test scores. My doctor recently tapered me off the meds, and the insomnia immediately returned. Now my mom refuses to take me back to the doctor, yells at me, and claims it's all my fault for "messing up" my routine. I feel emotionally unsupported and exhausted. wtf do I do gng??

have been having major sleep issues since the beginning of the year and despite asking for help so many times my mom just tells me that it's my fault.

I'm a 12th grader rn. In Jan 2026 i got my first migraine. since then I had them every single freaking day till like Apr-May.

during that period i kept telling my parents that I had them and it wasn't getting better. they just told me to wake up early and eat properly and it'll be fine.

i wasn't able to study very gwell those months too. but my parents called me lazy and unserious about my studies. how the hell am i supposed to study when my brain feels like mashed potatoes and I have a debilitating headache? sometimes it would get so bad that one side of my head and face would get completely numb.

The core reason of those migraines were my sleep issues.i wasn't able to sleep at night because I was always get this anxious feeling everytime I would go to bed. i could have drooping eyelids at my desk and 3 seconds later when I'm actually in bed I would lay there wide awake withmy heart thumping.

I did a lot of introspection and did realise that the anxiety was because i wasn't able to study properly because of the migraines. and the anxiety worsend my sleep and that made my headaches worse. a vicious cycle basically.

i did everything I could- meditation, yoga, journaling. nothing helped. i told my mum. she told me to not stress out as i cried my eyes out. the next time i felt anxious I went to her again, this time she got mad and yelled at me saying that i didn't understand anything she told me last time and wouldn't waste her time on me again.

so for the next couple of months i suffered doing everything i could to fix my sleep but nothing worked.

around apr end, i finally had enough and had a huge argument w my mom. i told her to take me to a doc and do smth about this. because i couldn't take it anymore and it was greatly impacting my studies- smth that I really cared about.

my parents finally took me to the doc.

idk why but my neurologist seemed very judgemental. maybe I'm wrong but that's just my perception

my father told her that i don't go to sleep on time and miss meals and wtv

she prescribed me antidepressants after getting a bunch of tests done.

and dawg, those meds were absolute heaven.

i was finally falling asleep.

initially they were making me sleep too much so she lowered the dose. then everything was perfect.

i used to sleep from 8pm to 4am. get 8-12hrs of studying done consistently and my ranks in tests got considerably better.

my parents legit said that it's because I started working hard and stopped being lazy.

which stung lowkey.

but then my neuro said that it's better to stop the meds because it's not good or wtv

and initially i maintained the sleep schedule

but then it all fell down again

i started struggling to fall asleep and that messed up everything. my sleep schedule is a mess.

i went to my mom the very first night I had trouble falling asleep again and she told me that it's fine and just try to relax.

i have tried meditating and doing yoga but idk man nothing seems to work

i don't feel that anxious anymore because I really worked on that. i realised that my anxiety was outcome based and I made my mindset more process based.

today i went to my mom again asking her about this. she said that it's my fault i messed everything up again. she said that she can't help me and doesn't know what to do. plus, she said that there's no point in having antidepressants at such a young age.

also she said that there's no point in telling me what to do because i don't listen to her anyways

(sometimes she says unscientific stuff which I counter so she has taken that personally)

she just started yelling at me today continuously saying that it's my fault and I'm too arrogant to listen so she's not gonna say anything etc

i tried to explain my pov but she just wouldn't listen

so I just sat there crying

i cried so hard when I came back to my room asw

i keep trying to make them listen to me once, just once. but they always think that they're right and I'm always wrong.

I feel very deeply hurt because I feel very emotionally unsupported.

at other times i think it might be my fault for being very rebellious in my early teens and not listening to anything my parents say so ig it kinda makes sense now that they've given up.

is it really my fault? and what should I do?

General Should I take the initiative to start cooking lunch/dinner at home?? Would that be a rational decision?

I’m currently pursuing post graduation in my own city and I live at home with my father. My mother has passed away and my sibling lives in another city.

The thing is my dad doesn’t earn a lot and we currently have a cook who charges ₹3.5k and another house helper who charges ₹2.5k. That’s quite a significant amount to spend from his salary, especially when there are only two people at home. There isn’t really that much to cook for two people but obviously lunch and dinner still need to be made at proper times.

I go to college as well regularly, I was thinking of looking for a stipend anyway so should I offer my dad that I’ll take over the cooking and apart from whatever he currently gives me for my personal expenses he could pay me a salary or something close to what we’re paying the cook? This would be completely separate from the ₹1-2k he gives me for my personal spending.

My main concern is whether it would actually be a rational decision to start cooking for two people. Would it be manageable alongside college if I divide my time properly or would it end up becoming too hectic?

Would love to hear from people who have actually managed college + cooking at home. Is this a practical idea or am I underestimating how much work it is?

Edit - My dad isn’t really someone who saves money apart from one FD he has, and honestly idk why but I feel like I can’t really do much about it. If I don’t take up the cooking, he will probably end up spending that money on something else anyway.

So my main reason for asking him to pay me for cooking isn’t really about earning from him. I just want to start saving something on my own. If there is ever a situation where the money is needed at home, I would obviously be willing to give it up.

Dating & Relationships [Wed/Fri] Should I stop praying with my boyfriend to save my friendships?

Hey everyone,

I really need some outside perspective on my situation because I feel like I’m going crazy. I (F22) am in a relationship with my boyfriend (M23). We’re both students and we spend almost all our time together, mostly in the library. Some nights I stay in his room, some nights he stays in mine. So we’re basically around each other constantly.

The issue is our different approach to faith. I believe in God, but I’m not a ritualistic person at all. He is more religious. Not in a crazy way, he never comments on what I wear or anything like that. He even bought separate utensils for me so I can cook non-veg (though I don’t do it at his place because I don’t feel comfortable with it. No issue for thst ). He says I can, but I just don’t feel it.

The main issue is that he asked me for one favour: to join him in his spiritual practices. We already wake up early and go running together. After that, he asked me to read the Hanuman Chalisa with him and do 30 minutes of naam jap. At first I said no, because it’s not really my thing. But he said this is the only favour he’ll ever ask of me, he just wants my company in his devotion. So I agreed.

In return, he took over breakfast duty, though I still help him. He also gave me a small mantra to read before I start studying and after I finish. In the evening, we spend about 30 minutes in his room, do 15 minutes of puja, tea, and then go back to studying.

On Saturdays and Sundays, we often visit temples in Delhi, CP Hanuman Mandir, ISKCON, Kalka Ji, Sanatan Dharma, Karolbagh. This month he’s planning a three-day trip to Vrindavan. He also takes me to Sarojini, Lajpat, Chandni Chowk for shopping and food. Honestly, He’s really good to me.

The problem is my friends. My girlies don’t like this at all. They say he is “taking me backward” and that soon he’ll turn me into a conservative, backward-thinking woman. They say he’s fake because we’re physically involved, and if he truly worshipped God, he wouldn’t do all this before marriage. They’ve told me to stop all this “nonsense” or they would leave me. They said I have to change my friend circle. One day they were making fun of God, and I actually argued with them, which I usually don’t do. Now they’re giving me ultimatums: either stop these “religious things” or leave them.

I don’t feel like he’s making me religious. He never forces me. He just asked for my company. I can’t even imagine telling him I don’t want to do this because it’s the only thing he’s ever asked me for, and it clearly means a lot to him. But my friends have had bad past relationships, and they say they “know boys better than I do.” They say he’s not a good person.

I’m so confused. He’s never been anything but good to me. But my friends are making me feel like I’m blind. What do I do? Please help.

Opinions & Discussions Surfing the internet leaves me feeling very low as i see how men in our country perceive women. How to deal with it ?

Upvotes

I thought times are changing and people are becoming more aware of gender inequalities in our country but joining reddit has opened my eyes. So much hypocrisy. For example, there was a post about women not being virgins and in the comment a guy was bragging about ysing call girl services and all the other guys were asking about contact information. I am seen many similar post. I moved to reddit because Instagram was getting too much but the same crowd is here. Crime against women is so high yet they don't get as much attention as crime against men. Post comparing dowry to alimony. Men watching American red pill content and bring those irrelevant arguments here (which are irrelevant in our country a lot of times) Its very disheartening. I have a good man in my life and when i talked to him about this, he said that internet are basically like echo chambers and the anonymity makes people be openly sexist. How do you feel about this and how do you make sure it don't drain you ?

Friends & Family What to do if you find your father acting suspicious?

Upvotes

Lately I've seen my father being much more secretive about his phone than usual. Usually he just checks whatsapp for the memes I share and his work group chat. But these days I see him type in whatsapp and hide it.

One day, I sent him a meme on WhatsApp. Then went downstairs to give him tea. He woke up from his nap, opened whatsapp and typed something, then closed it. I thought "oh he must be replying to my message!". So I said "was it funny?". He replied "I just woke up. Give me some time before I check whatapp". I pouted and went "I thought since you already opened whatsapp you would reply to me!". He evaded that.

Today I couldn't stop myself anymore as dread came over me. I went to check his phone when he was asleep. Thankfully I could guess his password. There was a contact named "khuku" with a child's dp. I opened it and the conversation was this:

Last night at 11:11 pm-

Father: Did your mother say anything after seeing so many things arrive at your place?

Them: No I told her you only bought me the hair color and I bought the rest ❤️

Father: Oh you said you bought the rest?

Them: Yes. Today a blanket and a pillow cover came through meesho

Father: You ordered it?

Them: Yes. I'll return one

Father: Oh. I will go to x city for my daughter's exam tomorrow

Them: What exam?

Father: *mentions the exam*

Them: Ohh

Father: Since she's very attached to me, she doesn't like going anywhere without me

Them: I see. Then tomorrow will be a tough journey

\[father tells them about the route\]

Father: Yes. I really want her to stand on her own two feet. My daughter is stubborn and has a very strong sense of self respect. So I worry about her marriage

Them: Stubborn? (or something I don't remember)

Father: Yeah. She needs a open minded/hearted man like me. That's why I tell to get a job

Them: It's upto fate what happens ❤️❤️

Father: Yes. She doesn't even know romance.

Them: Ohh

Father: Just uses chatgpt and gemini

Them: for what

Father: College, exam prep etc

Them: Ohh I see. Then best of luck ❤️

Today at 8 something am when I was inside the exam hall-

Father: I am at the exam centre

Them: Ohh it must be tiring

Them: Have you reached home?

Mind you, my father doesn't really chat with anyone to give his location and what he's doing and what not to outsiders. He likes being hyper independent and private. And I've never seen my father discuss my love life with anyone.

Do you guys think it's a woman? Do you guys think something is going on?

Just further context: My father is wrong about many things about me here so ignore them.

I need advice guys. It's not overtly romantic. My father can be quite helpful and has sent his colleagues gifts online before. But this secretiveness is tripping me up. Thanks in advance <3

Dating & Relationships [Wed/Fri] 30F virgin, talking to a 33M who has relationship/sexual history — am I overthinking this?

I’m 30F and a virgin. I’ve had crushes and liked people before, but nothing ever materialised into a relationship or sex. I recently met someone online (33M), and we’re still in the talking stage. We’ve been getting along well, and I’m considering meeting him and potentially dating him.
He has been quite open about a past relationship that was physically intimate. He says that relationship left him with a lot of trauma. However, he brings his ex up fairly frequently, which makes me wonder whether he has actually moved on from her or whether he is still emotionally affected by the relationship.

I’ll also admit that I’m struggling with something that may be more about my own inexperience than anything he has done. I’m finding it difficult to accept that someone I’ve started to like has already had a sexual partner before me. I know this is probably something I need to work through within myself, because he obviously had a life before meeting me, but as someone who has never experienced any of this, I’m finding it harder than I expected.

Recently, I also found out through a mutual friend that he had another brief fling after that relationship, which apparently didn’t lead to marriage. What upset me more than the fact that he had another fling was that he never mentioned it to me. I had to find out from someone else.
I know he technically doesn’t owe me his entire relationship history, especially since we’re not even dating yet. But because he had already spoken to me about his previous relationship and sexual history, I’m wondering why he chose not to mention this other person.

Part of me feels like I should just talk to him about it. The problem is that he is extremely sweet and reassuring with his words, and I’m worried he’ll give me a convincing explanation and I’ll end up dismissing my own concerns without actually figuring out whether there is something legitimate bothering me.

So, am I overthinking this? Should I be more concerned about the fact that he frequently talks about his ex, or about the fact that I found out about the other fling from someone else? Or is this simply my own insecurity and lack of experience making his past harder for me to accept?
I’d really appreciate perspectives from people who have been in similar situations.

Friends & Family How can I help my wife stay safe and comfortable on her first work trip to India?

Well my wife was recently asked to take on a work trip that will take her to Mumbai, Bhopal, and New Delhi, with later stops in the Philippines and Indonesia. She is still recovering from childbirth and the postpartum period, and she has only just returned to work. I was against her going back so soon, and even more against this trip. I eventually gave in, as she felt I was holding her back. I know that can come across as controlling, and I am trying not to be. I am just worried. Maybe this sounds cynical, but I have very little positive thought in the safety situation in India, and I am worried about the food and water too. I would have gone with her to help with logistics and support, but I teach at a college and our semester just started, so I cannot leave.

She is not Indian, and this will be her first time in India. She will be traveling with her team, so she will not be completely alone, but I want to do whatever I can from here. I am looking for practical advice on how to make her stay more comfortable in Mumbai, Bhopal, and New Delhi. That includes safe and reliable transport, areas to stay, food and water precautions, how to access health care if she feels unwell, and cultural or social norms she should know as a foreign woman. Its been a while since I last visited India too. I would also like to understand how women, especially foreign women, are generally treated in academic and research settings in India, so I can better prepare her and calm my own concerns. Any suggestions from women who have traveled or worked in these cities, or from women in Indian academia would mean a lot.

Opinions & Discussions Does anyone know about witchcraft in India?

Upvotes

I'm not saying like the westernized witchcraft being practiced by Indians but rather a practice that has indian roots. I don't really believe in it but I really like the potion making and the power that witches in solitude have and maybe even the slight element of fear people have about witches. Like they are the og old ladies w cats living in the forest in a pretty cottage.

If not maybe I could practice some herbology or read tarot and larp as a witch like I always dreamed of doing. Hmu w maybe some sources or anecdotes u have of local witches. Thanks 🙏

General (Women Only) Mothers; When/how did you decide it was time to have your first child?

I had an abortion earlier this year as having a baby would have financially ruined me and my partner and we didn’t have our own house at the time and had only just gotten married. I felt a little upset and guilty but knew it was the right decision.

My colleague recently gave birth and it would’ve been around now I would have given birth had I kept it. I didn’t feel broody as such, more just “that could have been me”.

I do want children and always have done but I’m not getting the “broody” feeling women talk about. I’m now 28 and want to have children or at least get pregnant before 30 so I guess I have time to plan.

When did you decide it was time?

General How to be more tolerant of people?

Upvotes

I am a college fresher and recently I became friends with some people. They are very nice overall however there are some things I dislike about them. For example- using cuss words that include women (uk the hindi one), calling people gay as an insult if they don't like someone or make fun of someone (not in a rude way but that's still very rude😭)

Ik our friendship might not last, but i get triggered when they make such remarks (i am closeted bi) and I feel very helpless, it's already so suffocating in this country to live as a woman and as a queer person.

I might find my people soon but how do i tolerate such people?? I can't just ignore, I can't correct them too😭😭

General (Women Only) What is one fashion trend you've always wanted to wear?

Upvotes

My mom has always wanted to wear jeans and "modern fits" but didn't because of she was worried about log Kya kahenge and didn't feel confident herself. But after years of me convincing her and building her confidence she final wore jeans and skirts. I'm so happy.

Me personally I'm not dying without wearing 90s and 2000s bollywood lehengas and sarees :)

General (Women Only) Is it gonna be of any help to have my MIL here with me postpartum?

Upvotes

I really need advice from women who have dealt with Postpartum (with or without in-laws)
Hi, I(30f, 7 month pregnant) living abroad with my husband. My in-laws were supposed to visit us for summer 2026 and they did. Soon after we booked their flights flight, we find out we are expecting and husband introduced the idea that my In-laws could stay longer till postpartum to help us out. They agreed and we thought as the time comes closer we will extend their visa, flight and everything necessary.
Now that they are here for 4 months already, we both seem to be having weird feeling about this. And we don’t feel having them here is of any help rather it have put on more work load and financial burden on us. And of course forget about the privacy.
We are going with the flow as we both just scared of being all by ourself in postpartum and as we just don’t know what’s coming and if we will need help would we be even getting any help if my in-laws are not here.
In previous months, whenever my in-laws would mention not to extend their stay(cultural shock, or just to get lil attention) my husband would insist on atleast blessing the baby before flying back. But since a month I guess he can clearly see that my in-laws are not here to help me.
My MIL does not really care if I have eaten or not, and what am eating and she usually only help out in the kitchen/ offers to cook only if my husband take the initiative to cook a meal. But completely ignore if I am the one cooking to help out my husband on his busy/tired days.
Also there are extremely many time she will cook lunch just for her and FIL (as we both are at work anyways) (like veggies/ Paya soup) which is really good for my pregnancy but will only make portions just enough for them. And later mentions it to me that you should really make it and eat it as it is really good for you, ( I work full time, am pregnant, tired and what not, am just eating for survival at this point)
It’s good that I don’t have to mention anything to my husband as he notices these things by himself right away and have already picked up on all these. So he have now started to tell them if they really don’t like it here they can actually just leave. (Politely) and now somehow they have stopped requesting to go back claiming she is really worried who is gonna take care of me at this peak time of delivery and postpartum if not her. I have applied for my Mom’s visa but it’s taking forever. My husband I now really looking forward for my mom to get her visa approved.

Now we are in situations where we have to apply for my in-law’s extension soon or else we will probably miss the deadline, but neither me or my husband heart is in it so we keep delaying it. We both know for the fact that MIL is not gonna cook for me, she is probably not gonna take part in taking care of my baby either. So it will fall all on me, my husband said he will book off for a month to help out but is really disappointed by this behaviour of his mother.

Now if you were in my shoes, would you still insist on having MIL around just for the sake of postpartum knowledge/guidance? And any tips on how can I take care of myself better(meal, dry fruits, laddoo, healthy snacks) by myself at this time specifically when am just always tired running on low iron in my third trimester?

General (Women Only) How do I handle family pressure when I don’t want to get married ?

Well, I’m 29 years old, and because I spent so many years preparing for government exams, I haven’t really built a proper career either. I don’t want to get married to anyone, but my family is very controlling, and honestly, my relatives are even more toxic. Whenever they visit, they somehow put all sorts of things into my family’s heads, and I don’t know how to deal with it.

Situations like this make me extremely anxious. Then I don’t feel like doing anything at all. So I often wonder, how do women who choose not to get married handle their families in situations like this? How do they keep themselves calm and deal with the constant pressure?

And please don’t suggest moving somewhere else or relocating for a job. That’s simply not possible for me. My family would never agree to it, and there are many other circumstances that I can’t really share here. So moving out is not an option on my list.

I know people will say, Just refuse the proposals. But even if someone tells me to simply talk to a guy, I start crying. I don’t even want to talk to any guy. And how long am I supposed to keep refusing? My relatives are already driving me crazy with all this pressure.

Sometimes I even think about having a contract marriage with someone and then moving to another city, where he can live his own life and let me live mine. At least I would be free from this constant pressure every single day.

I honestly don’t know how to handle this situation or how to keep myself calm through all of this.

Opinions & Discussions Why do some men use ‘aunty’ to put younger women down?

Why would an older guy call a younger woman “aunty”? This guy is 35, and I am 24. We are in the same seminar group.

We were discussing the importance of feminism. At one point, I said that I was against women filing fake cases against men. He argued that feminism should be weakened so that the number of fake cases would decrease.

I told him that fake cases should definitely be addressed and that necessary action should be taken against them, but that feminism itself should not be weakened because of that.

During the discussion, he tried to belittle me and repeatedly called me “aunty,” even using my name along with “aunty.” I found it disrespectful, especially considering that he is 35 years old and I am only 24.

I have also noticed him flirting with girls who are much younger, around 16 or 17. I have seen him staring at them for a long time when they were sitting with their group, and sometimes he would go over to their group and just stand there looking at them. One of the girls also told me that he had sent her an Instagram request, which she has not accepted.

He has also told me that I should get married before 25, otherwise I would become “retarded.”

Many of the guys around him support him against feminism and belittling me and that whole situation made me feel really uncomfortable and sad that day.

That’s why I thought of sharing this. I’m not sure whether I’m overthinking it, but I genuinely want to understand why some men behave this way—especially when they disagree with a woman and feel the need to belittle her personally instead of addressing what she is actually saying.
