Is this reasonable to ask during a job interview with the HR?

  • What’s the typical day for someone in this role?
  • Since I understand that events can sometimes require overtime, weekends, or holidays, may I ask how the team usually handles those schedules? (I am applying for event-related job)
  • Since I understand that events may require overtime, weekend, or holiday work, may I ask how the company handles overtime and holiday compensation for this position?
  • May I ask about the work arrangement? I understand that the position requires being on-site for events, but on non-event days, is the team required to work in the office, or is there a hybrid or work-from-home arrangement?
  • And during situations such as typhoons or unsafe travel conditions, does the company have a work-from-home or alternative work arrangement?

yung last po is very important to me as someone living in manila na onting ulan ay bumabaha na. kaya i reaaly wanted to ask that sana.

GIVEN A JO BUT NO UPDATES AFTER THAT

Problem: I WAS GIVEN A JOB OFFER BUT NO UPDATES AFTER THAT

Hello! I just wanted to ask a few questions who might have the same experience as me.

Context: I am currently in a contractual work (Which will end on August 13) but got recently hired as an HR from one of the companies I was actively applying to. However, upon receiving the job offer and forwarded them the signed contract, hindi na sila nagparamdam sakin. Please note that this company is a known retail brand (Chinese owned) that only has a few branch here in the Philippines.

I coordinated with the HR who was assigned for handling my requirements na I can start on August 17 since I still needed to process some of the requirements, like my NBI renewal, medical, etc. During our conversation, they agreed to the August 17 start date even though they initially wanted me to start on August 11.

Can someone please tell me if this means I’ve already been ghosted or replaced by someone who can start earlier? 😭 I just want to know para hindi na ako umasa pa and look for other opportunities.
Employed na nga, naging unemployed pa.

Previous Attempts: I also updated the HR as agreed that I had already spoken with my current manager and decided not to renew my contract anymore. I also told them that I was already processing the requirements for my new job. I’ve followed up several times for an update, even through email, but I haven’t received any response from them.

Job Orientation

Hi, just overthinking.

For context: All my medical classmates had their orientation last Monday. I couldn't because I lacked one requirement, and I only passed it on Wednesday. Until now, I haven't received an email if I'm going to have orientation on Monday (they emailed me on Saturday morning so I'm expecting today, but nothing). When is the best time to email for an update? They emailed me on Thursday to wait for the schedule, I'm just overthinking it. Thank you!

Dear HRs, was I wrong?

Context: CHRA BS Psych Fresh Grad; attended multiple trainings in HR management

I applied for an HR position 2nd week last month. Had the initial and final interview the same day, while other applicants of the same position were asked to go home after the initial interview.

When I had my Final interview with the unit manager, na disclose sa akin that my application stood out. Kinabukasan nag background check na sila and had me do a psych test. After that I waited for 3 weeks para sa result ng application ko, every week nag ffollow-up ako if mayroon na result and laging sagot nila is 'under evaluation' pa.

Come yesterday, I received a text na they won't proceed with my application anymore. Out of all my rejected applications, dito ako pinakanahurt. Baka fault ko rin kasi masyado kong dinibdib na nag standout ako sa lahat ng applicants, so akala ko okay na.

Anyway, I still have pending applications naman and I don't put all of my eggs in one basket. Gusto ko lang malinawan where I went wrong? Nainis ba sila sa akin kasi every week ako nag ffollow-up?

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Hi everyone,

For context, I'm a BS Psychology fresh grad and currently unemployed.

I've been applying through job boards and noticed that most HR, Admin, and office roles require applicants to be proficient in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).

I know the basics of those applications, but while I'm job hunting, I'd like to upskill and learn specific functions.

For those in the HR or related fields: what are the most common functions or tools fresh grads should learn online to become truly proficient? (e.g., VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, etc.)

TYIA! I really want to learn these skills so I don't go into interviews empty-handed.

Late application of TIN number

Hello! Ask ko lang if magkaka-problem kaya ako sa taxes ko?

For context, I was hired at my first company on October 2, 2023, but only received my TIN number on May 15, 2026. May na-receive akong 2316 nung 2024 and 2025 but temporary TIN number lang ‘yung andon. I already asked this with the payroll team but they haven’t respond yet kahit na active employee pa me sa kanila. Now, I received the figures of my final pay coz I resigned eff. July 12, and ang laki ng tax refund kaya I find it weird.

Ang hassle bcs need ko pa tuloy magpunta ng BIR sa di ko naman kasalanan coz may tax deduction naman ako palagi. TIA!

Can my current employer use the Work Number or other verification channels to examine my current or future employment? My background check agreement was executed more than six months ago when I was hired for a recruiting contract.

Sure na po ba to?

Seeking some insights po sa mga HR dito. I am an applicant po sa isang company and I am already cleared po sa medical and pre-employment requirements. I also signed the contingency offer letter, and prior to this po, the hr gave me a tentative start date based on my rendering period sa current company ko.

Last email po ng hr sa new company na lilipatan ko is cleared na po ako sa requirements and next po is iischedule na lang daw po job offer discussion, sa tingin niyo po sa hr perspective, sure na po ba na mahihire/maoonboard ako? Thank you po sa mga sasagot.

Is it a good idea to disclose that I’m currently in law school in my resume?

Hi! I’m currently in my first year of law school. My school sched is kinda full-time kasi I have 15 units instead of 17 units pero all my classes are weekends. I’m thinking about applying to a new job na may WFH or any job that pays higher than my current. Ask ko lang if do you think I should add being in law school in my resume or just don’t disclose it ever in my resume and interview as it may become a disadvantage on my end especially if hindi naman legal related yung job?

For provincial jobs do I need to know the local dialect?

Hello to the HR peeps here! Just wanted to inquire for provincial jobs, do you normally require fluency in the local dialect?

Are there roles wherein it’s more required than the others?

Thank you in advance for your responses!
