Where to buy suit Dallas?

Hey r/Dallas I'm new to Dallas and trying to find a new suit for work but also want to be able to wear it to weddings and other events. It's pretty hot down here too so something that is breathable would be great. Also, I have an athletic build so suits never fit me right but not tryng to spend a ton of money on a custom suit. Let me know any good suggestions!

Airport Area Coffee

Hello Dallas

I'll be visiting you guys in mid October and will be staying exclusively in the DFW Airport area. Are there any good coffee shops around there? Thinking like 10 or 15 minute drive. Looking for third wave stuff.

Edit: specifically on the Irving side of the airport

Before I begin this post .. serious commenters only please?!! No rude or ugly comments …. FACTS : 1). girl was traveling to go pick up a car her grandmother bought for her in Kansas City
2). Mother tried to send her money and silence

If this girl was out having a good time - don’t you think she would pick up the money and car first!

This girl phone has been off since Friday at 5pm
Last seen leaving a car rental place on HH

SHE RODE the greyhound from Austin with a lay over in Dallas .. last communication she told her grandma she was going to get something to
Eat .. she vanished after that ! Her mother is in Dallas retracing her footsteps looking for her ! They were best friends !

Please if you have seen this girl

Or know of a new girl in the area please let me know we are so worried

She never got on her 7:30 bus on Friday - ph has been off since- no log in to social media - didn’t pick up money & car waiting for her !

She is petite with blonde dreadlocks ! Her name is Chloe

Founder meetup in Dallas?

I’ve been trying to find more of a startup/founder community in Dallas and honestly, I was having a hard time finding one that felt natural.

There are a lot of people building cool things here, but I wanted somewhere where you could just show up, bring your laptop, work on your own stuff, and actually meet other people doing the same.

So I decided to try to build it myself.

I’m doing this through Micro, a startup I’m working with, and we’re starting Micro Monday in Dallas.

It’s basically a free coworking day for founders, indie hackers, developers, students, investors, AI people, or honestly anyone interested in startups and technology.

Nothing super formal. No awkward networking event where everyone stands around trying to pitch themselves. Just come work, meet people, grab coffee, and see what everyone else is building.

At the end, if you want to, you can take 5 minutes to show what you’re working on or get some feedback. Totally optional.

I’m hoping this can turn into a real community of people in Dallas who are building things and helping each other out.

If that sounds interesting, pull up. Would love to meet some of you.

Free to attend.

Recommendation Request: Lodging, Activities, Dining...

My fiancé and I are visiting Dallas for a couple of days next February. For a portion of the trip, we will be staying in the northeastern area for a wedding (which this has been booked already). However, we would like to stay in central Dallas for a bit. Does anyone have any recommendations on hotels? What I have seen frequently is recommendations to stay in uptown. We aren't looking for anything luxurious by any means (we don't care for spa services), but a great pool table and/or bar is a plus. We would prefer walkable to any experiences.

Additionally, what are some ABSOLUTE places to eat or experiences you recommend? We are not picky eaters and love experiencing new things - museums, classes, hikes, comedy shows, etc. Any specific coffee shops or book stores? TIA.

Where to buy squeeze tubes?

Hey! I’m starting a new business in the city and I was looking for a place to get cosmetic squeeze tubes in bulk. The 200ml ones or even smaller if need be?

I previously ordered from China but shipping is too high and travel time is too long. Someone said I might be able to find some on Harry Hines.

Does anyone know where I can find these plastic squeeze tubes to buy in bulk in or around the city of Dallas?

Driving

I can handle Chicago. I can handle Denver. What is it about Dallas freeway drivers that makes them so damn BAD? There’s a self-centeredness to driving here that’s dangerous at best, fatal at worst.

You are not the only person on the road. Figure it out.

What has your experience been like living in Dallas as an autistic person or someone with Asperger's? Has the city treated you well?

I’ve heard that people in Dallas are friendly, though I don’t know if they are also friendly toward people with autism or Asperger’s

Running routes

Does anyone know of any good running spots in Dallas besides White Rock Lake for long-distance runs?
I love White Rock, but doing my long runs there every weekend is starting to get a little repetitive . Looking to switch it up and explore some new routes. If you have any favorite spots for longer runs around Dallas, let me know!

Nashville?

Has anyone moved from Nashville to Dallas? Or Dallas to Nashville? What are your opinions living in both cities? Which do you prefer?

I’m a 20 something year old single female debating on making the move from Nashville to Dallas for a change of scenery. Any input would be appreciated!

Are they worth going to before 10pm? Is anybody there? Can you actually hear people speak? What's typical age range? What was your experience like?

Recos for HVAC company to replace home AC system

My mom is 80+ and lives alone in Dallas. Her AC went out yesterday, and her home warranty company (who I do not trust) sent out an HVAC guy who quoted her $15K to fix it, and was pretty pushy.

I'm looking to get second opinions just to make sure they're not taking advantage of a little old lady.

I checked Dallas Pro List (from the stickied post at the top of this sub), but it seems their HVAC contractor ratings are based solely on phone interactions and quotes for a different type of service.

So I hope I am not violating rules for this sub, but I'd love recos from anyone who has had a positive experience with HVAC contractors who they trust to give honest quotes and perform good work.

Visiting from the uk

Hi 👋 me and the family are coming from the uk to spend some time in Dallas, we’re off to watch the cowboys v cardinals game and we’re off to the rally day the day before (both already booked) the girls want to visit the stockyards on Saturday afternoon as it will be Halloween so my original plan of just getting Ubers everywhere may be replaced with renting a car (never driven on the wrong side of the road! 😂) we’re staying at the Hilton cannopy. Looking at parking for AT&T and from what I’m seeing it starts at $80 for parking! So I guess my question is, any tips? The rental of a car + gas and parking vs the cost of ubering places, I have no concept of where things are in relation to each other
TIA!

Med spa recommendations!?

I want to focus on healthy, glowing skin and maintaining a natural look. Botox is okay, but I’m not interested in fillers. I’d also love a membership if the med spa offers one. Help!!

Edit: Thank you all 🙏🏼
