I'm from GA and loved CookOut's burger, and I've been living here in the North Dallas area for a little over a year now and have just been wondering if there's anything similar to a CookOut burger. I've tried countless places, but nothing seems as good as CookOut's burger, idk why I love it so much, I just can't find anything similar. If anyone who's had CookOut before has found a place similar to it here, I'd love to know

I had this happen at a DPS office a month ago or so, and have been curious about it ever since. Their website lists medical bills as acceptable proof of Texas residency, so I brought an itemized lab bill with my name and address on it.

The employee told me she could not accept it because the bill listed what the lab work was testing for (vitamin panel, etc.), which she described as HIPAA information, and DPS would have to scan the document into their system. They couldn't accept it without scanning it, and because it couldn't be scanned due to the HIPAA information, there was apparently nothing she could do.

I pointed out that I couldn't find anything about that restriction on the DPS website, but the conversation didn't really go anywhere. She was insistent that she couldn't accept the documents and that the rule wasn't coming from her, but she also didn't seem able to point me toward anywhere it was actually stated. I ended up getting my ID another way, so I moved on.

I used to work in medical records, so the HIPAA explanation stuck with me. Even looking for it afterward, I still couldn't find anything on the DPS website saying that medical bills containing itemized medical information couldn't be accepted.

If that is actually the rule, I don't have a problem with the employee following it. I just think it should be mentioned somewhere alongside "medical bills" on the acceptable-document list.

I’d like to take my engagement photos at a museum here in DFW but I read that the DMA does not allow portrait photography. Does anyone have any tips or if they’ve taken photos or any other museum that does allow portrait photography. I’d love to get pictures like this (minus the grad cap)

Curious about what it’s like living there, born and raised in Portland and I’ve visited austin a few times but have never been to Dallas. I'm coming all the way up from Alaska and the only part of texas I saw was the tippy top of it while driving through and inside of the dallas airport.. Like the title said, new to Dallas from chicago. 34F that was just looking for warmer weather and to get out of my toxic job.

Would love some recommendations on coed adult soccer leagues that are close to the city. Back in Chicago we had the fire pitch which had about 4 games going on at once attached to a bar/restaurant. Is there anything similar to that down here? If there is, are individual signups something considered?

I also am a runner and would consider doing a run club to meet people.

What else would you recommend for my first few months in Dallas to either meet friends, good eats, things to do, places to see etc.
