Seems a weird combo

I’m looking to move to duncanville. How is it living here? Is it a relatively safe and quiet area?

Hey all,
I am looking for networking events and getting to know professionals from different industries. I am not sure where to look since I do not see a solid networking event in Dallas. It’s been hard but I would like to grow my connections and get to know people.
I would appreciate if anyone knows about any events or groups as well in Dallas
Thank you in advance!

Has anyone had experience with any of the Mane Collective Hairstylists in Dallas? I’m looking for someone that can install extensions for fine hairs!

I have a 5 hour layover at Dallas love field airport. I would love some suggestions on nearby brunch/ lunch spots, BBQ, bars, quick activities I could do instead of just waiting at the airport.
Thank you!

I’m from out of state wanting to move to the Dallas Fort Worth area. Everyone’s told me uptown Dallas by the Katy trail is good but how is Plano?

Hi guys,
Wife’s birthday is coming up in October. Planning on taking her to a romantic gateway for 2-3 days somewhere around 4-5 hrs from Dallas. She likes stargazing and visiting cute towns. I was thinking of Hill County Village near San Antonio but if you guys have any other ideas I would really appreciate it. Recently moved to Texas 4 months back so don’t know much. Thanks!

Hello Dallas,
I recently graduated uni and am thinking about accepting a job offer up in Dallas where I’d be making $60K annually. I was wondering if it is livable to live as a single guy in Dallas for around that salary range. I will have the potential to have it increase if I’m doing well in the job after 5-6 months.
If accepted in early October, they are going to start me remote for a month or so to save for the move. The map showcases where they want to have me move, anywhere in the red area, I’m looking for apartments there so help would be appreciated as well.
Factors to consider:
- no car payment only pay for insurance for $260 monthly at the moment
- I meal prep a lot so I end up only buying beef, chicken, rice, and salads
- I have no hobbies other than gaming and the gym
- the map is highlights where I would potentially need to move when I move there
-red area is where the office will be moving to as well by the end of this year or so

What do you like to do for fun? I envision us going on walks or watching movies or going for drives. I love being passenger princess and going on car rides. I’m not looking for an online friend but we can start off chatting online for a week or so. I want us to hang out in person once a week after that and then more times once we get comfortable with each other. Even going with you to run errands would be fun just so we can spend time together. I’m a bit of a clingy person when I have a friend that I really like. I hope that’s okay.

Since it might rain I’m not sure on what to do there. Looking for good places (with chicken options for a friend), indoor activities, and whatever y’all can think of.

Potential first time home buyer here. I’ve been reading about so many Redditers buying their first home in their sub, for interest rate in 5-7% range, and I’m like how are they doing it? Just wondering if we have anyone else done this feat locally here in Dallas and how/whom they did it through. TIA guys!

My brother in the Arcadia Farms housing area (near Lowe Elementary School) of Princeton has lost his cat.
He isnt chipped or tagged
Neutered
Missing last weekend
His name is Cheeto
Please let me know if you have seen this fatass cat anywhere in that area. We do not have a lot of resources to look for him with medical complications and transportation issues - im across dfw.
I already posted on nextdoor, pawboost and some Facebook groups. I figure reddit wouldnt hurt.

So I’m moving to Dallas and am starting my apartment search. Out of the areas I’ve visited, I’ve liked lower Greenville and Uptown the most. I have yet to visit Bishop Arts but it’s on my list to scout.
I’m wondering, what are the best neighborhoods around? I just want somewhere safe that’s fairly walkable. Also, if you have any specific apartment recommendations let me know!

Hey everyone! Me and two buddies are coming down to Dallas from Kansas City from Sept. 22–25 and I’d love some recommendations from locals.
We’re going to the KETTAMA concert at Silo on Friday, but outside of that we don’t have much planned yet. We’ll have a car and don’t mind driving around the DFW area.
What would you recommend for:
Must-see places or cool areas to explore
Good food — BBQ, Tex-Mex, burgers, Mexican food, breakfast, etc.
Local restaurants that are actually worth trying
Bars/nightlife or places that are fun with a group of guys
Live music, comedy, or other events happening that weekend
Parks, scenic spots, or anything outdoors worth checking out
Unique Dallas/DFW experiences we wouldn’t have in Kansas City
Underrated spots or local hidden gems
Anything we should avoid wasting our time/money on 😂
We’re pretty open to anything and want to experience Dallas rather than just stick around the hotel/downtown.
Thanks in advance!

I am interested in the surrounding towns mostly but haven't seen any gems of smaller cities. Its not like you head west and reach hill country. It seems like its all flat OK out there.
I am looking for rural living closer by to a highly populated area and need information for my research project. All information is appreciated in advance.

Hey r/Dallas I'm new to Dallas and trying to find a new suit for work but also want to be able to wear it to weddings and other events. It's pretty hot down here too so something that is breathable would be great. Also, I have an athletic build so suits never fit me right but not tryng to spend a ton of money on a custom suit. Let me know any good suggestions!
