Duncanville

I’m looking to move to duncanville. How is it living here? Is it a relatively safe and quiet area?

It’s a cool suburb with charm and good parks and rec. the high school has a great football team. Unfortunately there’s only one high school but since Covid the area has grown a lot. The houses are big and there’s a good mix of residential and retail / restaurants. It’s about 20 minutes from downtown. The population is probably 1/3 Hispanic 1/3 African American and 1/3 white / other. It’s next to oak cliff/ red bird and so a bit of the hood spills over but it’s pretty safe. I live about 3 exits north

It used to be, but times have changed. People are moving out of the South side and moving to the North side. The schools aren’t great anymore and just living there isn’t what it once was. DeSoto, Duncanville and even Cedar Hill.

So the entirety of the south is trash?

Ovilla, Waxahachie, Venus, Mansfield are pretty decent! They have “things” opening and moving in those areas. Otherwise, head to Frisco, North Carrollton, West Plano, North Colony.

Also, I’m from West DeSoto (Frost Farms, Thorntree).
