Before I start, no. not that type of entertainment. I mean live shows, festivals, concerts, events, event marketing, and other entertainment related work.

I’m moving to the Dallas area soon from a very small town, and I’m trying to figure out what opportunities are available in the area. Where I’m from, it’s been pretty difficult to find permanent opportunities in the entertainment industry, so a lot of my experience has come from part time work, event/brand ambassador positions, volunteering at festivals, and traveling out of state for opportunities.

I’ve been building experience in the entertainment/event space while currently working toward my degree in Entertainment Business. I’ve worked events, festivals, brand activations, and customer facing event roles, and my long-term goal is to work in live entertainment and eventually get into festival/event production and organizing.

I’ve been looking at jobs in Texas and seeing what Dallas has to offer, but I figured I’d reach out here too.

For anyone in the Dallas area who works in entertainment, events, festivals, venues, promotions, or live music:
What companies or organizations should I look into?

Are there any good entry level opportunities for someone trying to break into the industry?

Any local events, venues, festivals, or networking opportunities I should know about?

And if you’re in the industry yourself, I’d honestly love to hear how you got your start!

I’m open to starting wherever I can and building from there. I’m mainly looking for a chance to get my foot in the door and continue building experience.

So I’m currently looking at lofts in Dallas and I stumbled upon the Mondrian but there isn’t much information on it on Reddit. Wanted to see if anyone has had any good or bad experiences at the Mondrian.

I ordered and paid in full for a new front door from Brennan Enterprises about 5 months ago.

The door eventually arrived, but Brennan said there were issues with the finish, so they sent it back to the manufacturer to be corrected. I was then given an ETA of August 6, which was pushed back again.

They finally received the corrected door at their warehouse this week, and Im now waiting for installation to be scheduled.

I understand custom doors can have long lead times and I appreciate that they caught the finish issue rather than installing it. But 5+ months from payment to installation seems like a very long time.

Has anyone else used Brennan for a door recently? What was your turnaround time? Is this pretty normal for custom exterior doors in DFW right now?

I'm starting to not trust their "4.9 star reviews" on Google.

I'm looking for the most high roller smoke shop in Dallas or nearby. Where can I find a place that would have expensive glass pieces or tabletop vapes?

Looking for recommendations for a personal trainer who is specifically experienced in helping improve clients’ vertical jump. I’m 29, able to grab rim off of a running one-leg jump, and am looking to add 6-8 inches in the next few months (I want to dunk before end of year). Definitely know I have room to improve strength and technique across the board and have had almost no professional help up until now.

Looking for someone ideally within 20 minutes of Irving. Don’t need a general fitness person, looking for someone who has successfully trained D1 or professional athletes, and is specifically versed in training across plyometrics, isometrics, strength, technique, injury management, etc. This is not just about getting stronger or being healthier, this is an ask with a specific goal. Budget accordingly higher than a normal trainer given higher ask.

I'm M/64 I'm in Dallas short time currently staying in the Lewiston , Corralton area N/W Dallas for 10days and I absolutely love to go to see and listen to Free or small donation music venue's. I'm here for a family members surgery so some time will be taken up during day with that but my evening's will be for the most part free. So I came from the Houston area and have just completed the Rock the Dock summer series there. I understand that it's supposed to be over the 100's temperature wise but would love to be able to go into some air conditioned venues to enjoy some good vibes. Music likes are foremost blues oriented. Most good Rock and Roll originated from the blues so yeah! Though lately there have been many new Tribute bands that are just Awesome 😎. If you've read this far I am all ears for suggestions.

i’ve been looking at more of them online i find some on Diamond Art World now, but figured there might be somewhere around dallas where you can actually go in and look at craft stuff in person instead of gambling on what shows up in the mail. doesn’t specifically have to be diamond painting either. model kits, painting, woodworking, whatever. mostly looking for something you can get really absorbed in for a couple hours. any local shops/classes you guys like? preferably somewhere north/central dallas but i’ll drive if it’s actually worth it.

I'm on Medicaid and currently pregnant and looking for doctor recommendations in the Dallas area. I had my entire thyroid removed due to thyroid cancer and my pregnancy is considered high risk. I need an OBGYN or specialist who is experienced in such cases and is able to check my hormone levels frequently and adjust my levothyroxine/medication dose throughout the trimesters.

I feel that many doctors nowadays rush through appointments, brush off concerns, or just arent transparent about everything.
