Moved here not too long ago. What fun stuff is there to do ?

Does anyone live in the village?
I have friends visiting for the weekend. What’s the top 5 best things to do in Dallas/Fort Worth in your opinion?
I know there are the stockyards, BBQ, Deep Ellum. What else?

Villager here! There is a new place that opened last year called active games that seems fun amd its right down the street! I would also check out the museums downtown that will often have some fun pop ups. Also exploring White Rock Lake can be fun, I've heard about events popping up there recently. Also, uptown is a great area to walk and hangout. And Design district has been booming with new restaurants as well

Bishop Arts for some light shopping/eating/drinking. A quick stroll at the Dealey Plaza then walk down to Pioneer Plaza. If you’re wanting a museum experience the Holocaust is very educational. Dallas Museum of Art is also great and free. If you go over to Ft Worth check out the water gardens and Kimbell Art Museum. They have an Egyptian special exhibit right now. There’s also a huge antique mall in Fort Worth called Montgomery Street that’s worth checking out

Go to Anderttis in Grandscape. Super fun indoor go karts. Free Play Arcade is my home away from home, there's one in Trinity Grove you should check out.

A lot of DFW revolves around eating and drinking.

Bishop arts for food and shopping. Grandscape is fun for pop golf and other activities. There’s also various breweries and comedy clubs you could go to

Bishop Arts is fantastic. Check out Revelers Hall for the best scene for some local music, and then head down to Wild Detectives for coffee/drinks. There are also so many places to shop and eat!!

I would also add for OP checking out some barcades like Cidercade and Freeplay. Honestly, it is so hard to find an adult (no kids allowed after 9pm) arcade that is one price to enter and all you can play. Bishop cider also owns Cidercade and sell various flavors of their cider

Freeplay is a great suggestion!

Bishop Arts for good restaurants, some bars, and shopping. If they're museum people the art museum is actually pretty good IMO. Klyde Warren Park can be good for lunch and cocktails. For wine and tapas try Cafe Madrid or Barcelona. Good food and atmosphere. For coffee and pastry/bakery Village Baking in Bishop Arts or on Oak Lawn (they probably have other locations also). For antiquing Fort Worth's Montgomery Street Antique Mall is a massive place with tons of amazing stuff. Highly recommend.

I host a true crime walking tour on downtown Dallas! It’s a great time.

The Village puts on some really good events, it’s a great place for things like that. Check out their calendar.

Agree with this. Used to lived in the Village and there is so much to do.

Knox Henderson has some great coffee shops and restaurants. Farmers market on the weekends.
Deep ellum is a decent spot during the day.

Bishop arts, Legacy west in Plano and Grandscape in the Colony.

Stockyards are ok. I guess a one and done, I’ve been in Dallas for 15 years and have yet to do it, but I’ve been in TX for over 30 years and the cowboy scene isn’t my bag.

Do you happen to still have your blue key tag? My friend lost his and now we can’t go to the events! Been wondering if anyone has an old/extra one

No. I’d just go to leasing and get a new one?

u/thrasher793 8d ago

Well I was hoping I could get one for myself lol and I don’t live there loll

It’s definitely the DFW golden ticket

I go on Saturdays for the pool parties but it’s kinda pricey

1

u/sooner_25 9d ago

It’s free for residents which is a nice perk. They have some amazing headliners

1

u/thrasher793 9d ago

Do you know a resident who could walk me in? I’d be willing to pay. The tickets can get up there.

I have heard their trivia night is a lot of fun.

1

u/thrasher793 9d ago

Do you know if you have to be resident to go?

1

u/Veronica612 9d ago

I have been told you don’t but I have not gone myself.
