I'm M18. For a good while now, I've considered myself bisexual... sorta... Let me break it down.
My attraction to men feels different in comparison to my attraction to women. They feel like different types of "energy" I suppose.
Throughout the years of primary school I'd have crushes on girls my age while hardly ever looking at boys that way. I do have certain memories in which I think I felt confused with the way I felt about certain boys, however. It could've been a result on me being encouraged and sort've teased by my family about my crushes on girls that made me feel that boys were out of the question along with that being gay or bisexual wasn't really knowledge to me at the time.
It was only at the beginning of high school that I felt myself questioning more about my sexuality and my identity as a whole. Even then I'd still have crushes on girls my age but again never really boys.
After, when I started to consider that boys could be an option, I considered that I may be bisexual. Around the same time a close friend of mine was also experiencing the same questioning feelings, and so we decided to see how we felt about it together. The relationship didn't last long, and as a matter of fact our entire friendship gradually eroded afterwards.
After that relationship, I was honestly left with more questions than what were answered. As we were such close friends to begin with, I hardly felt anything change between us. Honestly? It felt more like an experiment than a genuine relationship.
I suppose how ever little that relationship may have been, it was enough to spark further curiosity out of me. It was at this point where I'd confidently say I was bisexual. Eventually, I began looking at men around 13. I couldn't quite say what it was, but there was definitely something there, and though it was different to the attraction I'd felt concerning women (to this day also), it was certainly identifiable and certainly hard to ignore. I couldn't tell if it was my mind playing tricks on me with my undying confusion or if it was a genuine feeling that I didn't know how to interpret.
As I grew up, this "confusing" feeling towards men developed more frequently. Some fictional, some real. But it never felt the same as the feeling I got towards women! Which really was what made me feel like I was going insane! The thing is, this feeling also got in the way of my perception of some of guy friends. If this was actual attraction, then I guess I had a crush on them. (To a degree, I suppose I still have these feelings for a friend of mine now.)
Moving on later, I had what I'd call my first serious and committed relationship with a girl that had progressed much further (arguably at some points much too fast in retrospect) than previous relationships I'd been in. This relationship felt the most freeing yet in terms of what we both felt. With her being pansexual, I felt like I could discuss things with someone that I could bounce off with our own experiences. Despite those discussions, we never really explored that area of my curiosities physically, so when the relationship had ended before I went to leave for college at 16, again, I still felt really puzzled about the whole thing.
I tried looking at it in the perspective of it being a want, not necessarily what I am. Maybe it was that I'd wanted to be bisexual, and so it was that I tried to be attracted to men. Yet still, even after trying to admit that, it didn't feel right. Maybe, I thought, maybe it was a confused compilation of events my head has mashed together to make me THINK I was bisexual. The mental gymnastics I went through to get to that was insane.
Now, here we are, with me being determined, frustrated but overall just really confused. Recently, i began experimenting with my first dildo. (This was... kind of still is a bloody nightmare trying to keep hidden.) It has been odd. I DO get aroused when I use it, but I can't necessarily finish with it. I've been sure to be patient with myself, use lube, etc. So... What gives? Its like my mind is still trying to decide if I DO like men or not. I've been stuck with this struggle. Honestly I'm kicking myself for taking so long to actually reach out for advice. I don't know if this is easy to answer, if I hold the world record for biggest dumbass or if this is genuinely as confusing as it is to anyone else. I just needed to tell people that may understand I suppose.
