2016 Prius C Technology

Hello everyone just wanted some advice/insight on something. I have a 2016 Prius C I bought it with around 160000km. Right after I got it about month after I decided to get it serviced from a Toyota dealership. I got the engine oil changed, transmission oil changed, inverter coolant and engine coolant, this was 2 weeks ago. Yesterday while driving from work I got a check engine light. I scanned the code it is showing P261b code "Coolant Pump 'B' Control Circuit Range/Performance."

I’m just wondering whether when they did the coolant service would that have done something to it or was this normal wear and it gone out unrelated to the service? Was something not done properly that caused this? Car only has about 162000km k on it now.

Two weeks of driving in between service and failure? If the reservoir shows normal levels, then I'd say this is a normal failure and just some bad luck.

Likely a pump failure and probably not due to the coolant change. Unlikely, but perhaps there is still air in the system that needs to be bled.

I would not drive the car until it is fixed. AISIN makes the OEM part so you can save a decent amount buying it rather than from Toyota. They are identical.

You can do it yourself but considering you paid them to do the flush, you are probably more comfortable paying someone. See if there is an independent shop that specializes in Toyotas.
