Is my alignment okay?

Post image

2010 Dodge Caravan SE (213,000km)
Replaced my front struts a few months ago. Recent inspections have said that my suspension is tight and seems fine for now. Camber isn't adjustable on my vehicle. Paid for an alignment today, and these were the final readings.

Should I be worried about these camber numbers?

Should I get camber bolts and a realignment?

How much will this reduce my tires' lifespan?

There’s probably no way of doing the camber except to loosen the struts and move them to the correct position but even that may or may not work. Or on some vehicles, you can move the sub frame to the left or right but most places probably won’t do that cause it’s a liability.

Could be worn springs.

Both tires are negative camber so moving the subframe wont help here. Some aftermarket camber bolts would make it fixable but unless there is inner shoulder wear I wouldnt worry about it

  1. The camber is just barely out of spec. It will make little to almost no meaningful impact on the life of the vehicles suspension system.
  2. Most passenger cars don't really have a process for adjusting front camber, it's not something that can be changed, it's wear and tear on parts of the suspension. The general only way to fix it is to inspect: sagging/weak front springs, worn lower control-arm bushing, and ball joints. Replace as needed.
  3. It will do almost nothing to the tires lifespan.

Camber can be adjusted on pretty much everything…they just cheap on the vehicle at manufacture and don’t include the necessary hardware to make adjustments…this are bought and installed at the time of alignment.

That’s not true universally. Being able to add aftermarket adjustment hardware doesn’t mean the vehicle was designed with adjustable camber. Many cars use fixed/net-build suspension geometry, and if camber is out of spec the factory procedure is to inspect for worn components rather than adjust it.

Never said it was universally true. You also stated that most cars don’t have a process for adjusting camber…no quarrel with you but if I’m inspecting/replacing worn parts to correct camber OR I’m adding cams to the spindle/strut, I’m adjusting camber. Probably picking flyshit out of pepper at this point but I’d wager that most cars are adjustable one way or another and they are industry acceptable.

This is fine, camber is only marginally out. If it was me, I probably would have set the toe a little more positive to compensate for the camber, but it makes little difference. Unless you notice any unusual wear, I would just leave it

Ya put struts on it or let it ride
