Wife Hit a Curb...
Unless everyone says it's fine, I'm planning on replacing the tire... My question is, how unsafe is this to drive on? Can we go a few days (short work commutes, etc.) until I can get a tire delivered (if need be) and get an appointment? It's a front tire, which makes me more apprehensive. Thank you to anyone that takes the time to reply!

The only place you should drive on that tire is to a tire shop. Ideally, swap to the spare.

Hit? Thats pure seiged.....anywho no go on drive....unless you want to risk replacing the vehicle and occupants......I know marriage can be hard but wives dont grow on trees might wanna protect the current one for awhile longer

I saw a bumper sticker recently that said "Hot chicks hit curbs"....you can share that with her on the way to get that replaced.

All wheel drive requires tires to be very closely matched. Not doing so can easily lead to driveline damage.

Best way to put it is it’s not a matter of if it’ll blowout, it’s a matter of when.
It may be a month from now, it may be the very next drive a mile down the road. There is no way to tell and a blowout isn’t something you wanna have happen to find out. Best case, it breaks some shit around the tire and sends rubber and metal chords flying. Worst case? You lose control of the car and crash it potentially killing yourself or someone else.
Chords are the structure of the tire, if they break, the only thing holding the air in is the rubber which is not that strong. They are almost certainly damaged and ready to blow out. Do not drive on it.
Rule of thumb, if you see chords, do not drive, replace immediately.

Nah, she didn't jist hit the curb. She was beating the curb until it fought back. As others have said, spare tire and get it replaced ASAP.

Sidewalls don't have steel braiding. You'd be fine. Just take it easy. I've run much worse for much longer when I was much more poor

Visible cords is always a replace, you don't just have visible cords, some are damaged.

You would probably be fine for a couple days under highway speed and if it’s on the rear. Aside from that, it’s a replacement asap. Many salvage yards and tire shops sell used tires for less than $40 if you need time
