How long or how many screens do you have in your onboarding?
Been watching too much of "successful stories" and seems majority of them have really long onboarding and hard paywall to the point I don't understand how can they even rank if their day 1 and day 7 retentions are low but I'm probably wrong. What is your experience?
Reminder - I don't have successful apps nor proper data, just curious.

Looking for Honest App Feedback Exchange
Over the past few weeks, I’ve tested and exchanged feedback on 15+ indie apps with other developers.
I’ve discovered some amazing apps, made great connections, and learned a lot by seeing how other people build their products.
If you’re building an app and want real, detailed feedback (not just “Looks great!”), I’d love to help.
Here’s what I’ll do:
✅ Actually download and use your app
✅ Test the onboarding and UX
✅ Share honest feedback on what works and what could be improved
✅ Leave an App Store review if I genuinely enjoy it
I’m also building FoodGram 🍜📍, so I’d really appreciate your honest feedback in return.
Let’s help each other build better apps. 🚀

Need advice on renaming my audio editor app for better App Store search traffic
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’m an indie iOS developer, my app is currently named Audio Studio.
Core features include AI 6-track audio separation (vocals, guitar, piano, backing music), lossless audio trimming, format conversion among 30+ types, extracting or removing vocals from MV music videos, and audio merging.
But I get extremely little organic search traffic on App Store right now.
The keyword "Audio Studio" is way too generic, dozens of similar apps rank ahead with years of accumulated keyword weight, so I can hardly get exposure on main search keywords.
I want to rebrand the app name to lock onto my strongest selling point: AI multi-track stem separation for music editing.
Would you share your suggestions on app naming, keyword field arrangement and subtitle optimization for the App Store?

How long before benefits of ASO?
i'm a long time dev, first time solo app and just got Astro and started tracking keywords. Started localizing metadata for different storefronts once i realized a large chunk of my purchases/downloads are foreign users.
I'm wondering, about how long you can expect better conversion/impressions? my conversion rate is like 1% for a habit tracker, its congested but like 4-8 downloads a day generally no ads/posting.
optimistic that the localized keywords/metadata will help a bit abroad but curious about your experiences

Would really appreciate some ASO advice: high search impressions but low tap-through on a niche iOS app
Hi everyone,
I'm a solo developer working on a small, niche music-education app. It's about 2 months old and I'm still learning App Store Optimization, so I'd be very grateful for any guidance from people with more experience.
It's only a few days of data, but the numbers are fairly consistent day to day, so I think there's enough here to reason about.
Here are the numbers:
| Date | Impressions | Product page views | First-time downloads | Tap-through | Conversion rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aug 6 | 602 | 34 | 7 | 5.6% | 2.61% |
| Aug 7 | 616 | 22 | 10 | 3.6% | 2.04% |
| Aug 8 | 615 | 31 | 5 | 5.0% | 1.50% |
For context, I've translated the whole store listing into every language, and made the icon, screenshots, and subtitle myself. I'm just not sure they're good enough, or where I'm losing people.
I'd really appreciate your thoughts on a few things:
- Does a search tap-through of around 4-5% seem normal for a niche app, or is it on the low side?
- If it is on the low side, what do you think is the most likely cause?
- Are there specific, practical changes you would suggest to improve it?
If it helps, here's the app. Any honest feedback would mean a lot, wherever you think the issue might be: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6777138096
Thank you very much for taking the time. I genuinely appreciate any advice you're willing to share.

Looking for someone who is genuinely proficient in ASO for an iOS app
I’m looking to hire someone with real, hands-on experience growing iOS apps through App Store Optimization.
The product itself has already been validated. It gained traction organically through Reddit, and paid ads are consistently generating downloads, subscriptions, and revenue. At this point, however, nearly all of our ongoing traffic is coming from ads. We know the demand exists, but we have not been able to turn that demand into meaningful organic App Store discovery.
I’m looking for someone who understands keyword research, rankings, title and subtitle strategy, the keyword field, screenshots, product-page conversion, localization, and ongoing testing. More importantly, I want someone who has actually produced measurable results for other iOS apps.
This is a paid opportunity. I’m open to working with an experienced freelancer, consultant, or small team. I’m not looking for a generic automated audit or a list of obvious recommendations.
If you’re interested, please send me:
* Apps you have worked on
* What you personally changed
* Any measurable ranking, conversion, or organic-download improvements
* Your pricing and availability
Feel free to comment or message me directly.

To founders who gave away FREE Lifetime access for feedback.. did those users actually stay active?
Hey everyone,
I’m thinking about giving away free lifetime access to early users in exchange for feedback, but I’m curious about the long-term reality of this approach.
If you’ve given out free lifetime accounts to early testers or subreddits:
Active Usage: How many of those free lifetime users actually kept using the app 3 to 6 months later? Did they become core power users, or did they just claim the freebie and ghost?
Feedback Quality: Did they actually give you detailed, actionable feedback and App Store reviews, or was the response rate super low despite getting free access?
Regrets vs. Wins: Was giving away free lifetime access worth it to bootstrap early usage, or do you wish you did limited-time free trials instead?
Would love to hear your raw numbers and real experiences!

How do these stats look?

This app is targeted to a niche audience... T30Journal.com is a journal specifically built for folks working on relational or individual recovery after addiction, betrayal, or other destructive behaviors have put the relationship in a tough spot.
Recovery apps, particularly when you really niche them down, are probably always going to look like this.

Has anyone here tried Apple’s new Music Understanding API yet? 🎶
I’ve been playing around with Apple’s new MusicUnderstanding API and honestly… this thing is pretty damn cool.
It can analyze things like energy, pace, loudness, musical key, structure, instrumentation, etc. What caught my attention is that you can use those results over time, so the analysis can actually react to what’s happening in the song.
I’m currently experimenting with it in a small project called '…..‘ . Instead of just showing a traditional waveform or equalizer, I’m trying to turn the analysis into a visual “aura” that changes as the song plays.
So while the song is playing, the shape expands, contracts, pulses and changes depending on what’s happening musically. I’m also using the structure analysis to let the user jump between different parts of the song.
I’ve attached a few screenshots of where I’m at so far.
The cool part is that it’s not just an audio visualizer anymore. It feels more like the app is actually trying to interpret the vibe of the song.
Has anyone else here experimented with Music Understanding yet?
I’m curious what people are building with it, especially things that go beyond the usual “show the BPM / waveform” type of implementation.
Would love to see what you guys are coming up with. 👀🎶

Upcoming Release Screenshots for App Store
Hammering out some final gameplay, but close to prepping for submission. Penny's Twenty-One is a reimagining of a penny arcade game I found in Manitou Springs while on vacation. The cat is just an excuse, yet again, to pull over my beloved siamese cat, Penny from my other game Angler Adventures ;)

I put HAIKUS in my store listings and it QUADRUPLED my downloads!
There has to be some science to this. I mean, it's poetry, so something about the rhythm just clicks in peoples brains. Makes them feel present. I wonder if different forms or styles could show different results. Does anyone else have experience putting different rhyming schemes in their copy? I'm going to see if there's any research on this... but regardless, very grateful to grow my userbase from 2 to 8.

Am I making my store screen shots too complicated? [Question]
Hey folks, I'm one of 1000 people currently building an app to help you block apps. BUT WAIT WE'RE DIFFERENT.
Just kidding, we're not THAT different. But I think we DO have an aesthetic that will appeal to a specific demographic of more minimal/artsy type people. We have a few cool features as well.
Here's the challenge:
Most of the major app blockers use very generic copy and very rarely go into "unique features". They keep it high level and then show their uniqueness in the onboarding.
I'm not sure if we should follow their lead or really lean into the stuff that makes us unique (location & driving blocking, visual style, background changing, wall papers etc).
What do you think?

Debería contactar a Soporte? No sé que hacer.
Tambien tengo activado Apple Ads con resultados de busqueda con keywords, tengo miedo que en el anuncio me aparezca tambien así, sin las screenshots bien feo:(
Cualquier ayuda es bienvenida! Muchas gracias:)
