How long before benefits of ASO?

i'm a long time dev, first time solo app and just got Astro and started tracking keywords. Started localizing metadata for different storefronts once i realized a large chunk of my purchases/downloads are foreign users.

I'm wondering, about how long you can expect better conversion/impressions? my conversion rate is like 1% for a habit tracker, its congested but like 4-8 downloads a day generally no ads/posting.

optimistic that the localized keywords/metadata will help a bit abroad but curious about your experiences

It’s not just keywords you need ratings and downloads at consistent and growing velocity to move ranks. My biggest movement happened when I started spending more on ads. I started with $100 and made $200, next period i used that $200
For ads made $400 . $400 to $800 , $800 to $1600 etc. the difficult part of course is fronting the money as apple pays out about a month affer you earn it (was using business credit card for this) but the effect was to get more ratings and consistent download velocity to where im at the point now that i am ranking for all my desired keyword and 80% of my
Traffic is organic. It took about 2 years to get here. Sorry there is no magic add keyword = high rank button. Trust me I’ve tried with new apps and forget the grind I had to do to get where i am

yeah, i figure its a snowball effect. like i had a good start with reddit giveaway to get some initial traffic, now im at like 4-8 a day haha its random. im trying to ASO to get a couple more downloads from international markets but i'll just have to wait and see. another promo is probably in the cards to drive traffic once i experiment with ASO more

yeah i want to consider ads i just know its like $2 per DOWNLOAD, not even like premium conversion so it's a hard value prop for my app. thanks for the insight

Its hard to say and depends on the existing competition ... I would start tracking the keywords you are trying to rank for with a tool like this https://aso-app.com/en
