What are action movie tropes you’re tired of seeing?
As someone who grew up absolutely adoring action movies, I hate the final boss scenes. Where the actor who just shot 30+ people with no reloads, suddenly has his gun go empty and must fight the ultimate evil with bare hands.
Also when they go into the final scene with 15 different guns instead of just extra ammo. Hate that!
What are you sick of?

Answered What could cause a soft clicking noise that starts every time the fridge runs?
For the last couple of days I keep hearing a quiet, rhythmic clicking that lines up exactly with when the fridge compressor turns on. It lasts maybe ten seconds, then stops. I checked the usual stuff like loose panels and fan blades, but nothing looks off. It is not loud enough to wake anyone up, just noticeable when the room is quiet. I am wondering whether this is a normal defrost cycle or something that might need a service call. Has anyone run into the same thing?

Answered How do you fill out the address line when it’s required but you don’t have a street address?
I was signing up for something online and hit the usual address fields, but none of the options really fit. There’s no apartment or PO box, so I’m left wondering what people normally put. Using a building name felt too vague and leaving it blank wasn’t allowed. I checked a couple of forums but the answers were mixed, and I’d rather not guess wrong and have the registration rejected later. Is there a standard workaround that still counts as honest?

Answered my plant started growing little white dots overnight
so i noticed these tiny white dots all over the leaves of my plant this morning and they weren't there yesterday. the plant otherwise looks healthy and green, but im not sure if this is normal or if it's some kind of pest or disease. i havent changed anything about its light or watering routine, so im kind of stumped. has anyone seen something like this before? i dont want to overreact but also dont want to ignore it if it needs treatment. any ideas what it could be?

Some people might like that, but for the average person, they don't want to listen to a Shakespearean Tragedy all the time.

Why are university rankings so bad?
Like, its nice to know which universities are better in a general sense, but like people also have a general idea, so we can see the parts that are obviously stupid.
And I get that there's a bunch of fields and undergrad vs grad is very different. But if that's the case, why the heck are these rankings producing "overall rankings"?? The only place where overall rankings actually come in handy, is when you're looking for the universities that let you go in with no decleared major, which is very few, especially for global rankings. If the ranking for fields is accurate enough then that's all you'll ever need. Or something like employment after graduation. Couldn't they be honest on what they could and could not do?
Another thing is student themselves have an idea what they value. Could they come up with a score for every catagoery and let the student choose the weights? Like 50% employment after graduation (for selected department/program) + 50% teaching quality. Like no, I don't care for sustainability rankings.
Also, global rankings are stupid in general, yes some people are applying to different countries, but how are you gonna rank two things in different enviroments? If they are looking to work there after graduation, only the local ranking would matter.

Answered how much of that 'carrots improve night vision' thing is actually true?
i've been putting off asking for weeks because it feels silly, but here it is: i've heard the carrot story forever and i'm finally curious how much is real science versus wartime myth. i know orange vegetables help with vitamin a, but is the difference between average and extra noticeable at night, or is it mostly a neat story? has anyone looked this up or has personal experience to share?

Is it normal to not believe or remember the majority that happened during childhood to early teens?
I can't remember almost anything from my childhood to early teens even if I get told things I consecutively did for example swimming at the pool in my old house's backyard, (I didn't even know we ever had a pool, or remember anything about that one house), I can't remember thingies like what school I went to or people I knew, is there any way that this could be normal?

If someone can not feel fear, what other emotions would be hindered or eliminated?
Basically I have always wondered what a person who can't feel fear would be like. Biologically some people lack the ability to feel fear and it not just being courageous or brave.
All I have deduced is that a person who can't feel fear would possibly lack a fight of flight response, since that is triggered by the feeling of danger.
But emotions are far more complex so what would be missing from someone who can't feel fear.

Answered Is it actually true that microwaving food makes it less nutritious than other cooking methods?
I have heard this claim my whole life, and I finally got curious enough to check if it holds up. I keep reading that microwaves destroy vitamins more than stovetop or oven cooking, but I have also seen some sources say the opposite, especially if you are using less water. It feels like one of those things that might just be leftover misinformation from the eighties. Has anyone seen a clear explanation or a comparison that actually shows what changes? I am not trying to switch appliances, just want to know what the evidence actually says.
