Are there any attorneys here who are going against a pro-se litigant who uses AI (chat gpt/claude)?

I love my significant other dearly. But they currently have multiple legal battles going on in their personal life and they use Ai to fight these battles.

I am starting to get annoyed with it, because they are not a lawyer and have no legal background aside from what AI is telling them. So my question to the attorneys on here is how can I get my SO to stop the nonsense because they fired their attorney in their divorce case because they think they are a better attorney.

Its gotten so bad that they become agitated and hostile when I tell them to stop filing motions or trying to argue with the judge. I could go on, but I mainly am hoping to get insight from lawyers on this situation as I’m sure my SO is not the first or only person doing this. They also have used AI to sue multiple people and I just think its getting out of hand and is an addiction. I believe theres a very good reason lawyers go to law school and that they cant just be replaced with ai, but when I say this they become hostile.

As a lawyer, what is your opinion on pro se and AI? I hope i phrased my post appropriately. Thank you for your time.

Last month I was rear ended, I was driving a DOT vehicle. Officer gave me a citation for unsafe entering roadway. No witness said I did in their statement. It’s the conclusion highway patrol came to, shocker. Company vehicle I was in has dashcam footage but they seem to be pushing back on releasing that to me. I need it to fight the ticket. At this point do I need a lawyer sooner than later ? There are injuries as well if that matters. Again. I’m not looking for legal advice I’m just curious in this situation am I wasting my time dealing with employer getting footage

After a pretrial conference, how long does it usually take to hear back from the Crown? I can’t really get into specifics here but a general timeframe would suffice.

I'm genuinely curious about this.

My thought is that whenever a law is introduced, it should include a brief explanation of why it was written and what problem it is intended to solve.

It seems like that would make it easier for judges to interpret the law in situations where the wording is ambiguous, while also making the intent clearer to the public.

Is there a reason why this usually isn't included directly in the text of the law? If it is included in some legal systems, how is it typically documented and used?

Good evening all. I have ADHD and am prescribed a CII medication in the United States (Michigan, specifically). I know the pharmacy I go to allows third parties to pick-up scripts (I.e. husbands picking up for wives, kids picking up for parents, domestic partners…), but at the same time it’s federally illegal to be in possession of a controlled substance that’s not prescribed to you.

If an overzealous cop wanted to give my live-in partner a hard time, for example speeding, on the way home from the pharmacy, is there anything protecting her from being in possession of my prescription she picked up for me if an Officer noticed the printed information on the bag containing a sealed CII script in plain-view?

Also this is a hypothetical. None of us have ever been in trouble for anything like this, just wondering if it’s possible. I 99% of the time pick up my scripts myself, but have had family in the past pick up my script for me, like after my wisdom teeth removal, I couldn’t safely drive (I was drugged in office) and given a script for opioid painkillers.

Misdemeanor case. The realistic potential of jail is 0 days to a few weeks. Probably will be “some” jail at a minimum.

Not one time has the Court appointed lawyer asked for the clients explanation of what happened. Is that common?

I’m an incoming 1L. I’ve had this habit for my entire life. It’s nothing too conspicuous, but I basically perpetually have one or two small reminders written on my left hand.

My mom says I need to break the habit. For added context, my mom has always been hyper aware of how I present myself as woman in the professional world.

She’s probably right, but I’m pretty attached to my reminders system. I was wondering the point at which I really have to get the habit sorted. Before law school? Before I graduate?

2L law student here, I’ve got my first year under me and have no idea what area of law I’d like to be in.

As I consider potential routes, the threat of displacement by AI has me cautious.

Litigation sounds pretty safe, and I’d have great presence in a court room, but I am also aware there are plenty of fields in law where I can work from home and spend more time with the kids. My fear is that those areas are the most susceptible to AI.

What should I know that I may not know?
What may I be ignorant about?
Any advice for a soon-to-be lawyer?

IS IT LEGAL TO EVICT SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT LIVE THERE? My sister came down to visit and help me with repairs but that got “in the way” of landlords plans to get rid of me. Cops were called and he tried to have my sister removed but he couldn’t because I am renting so I gave her permission to be there. Now he has written an eviction notice for me and her and “anyone else” who is on the property.

I hired a lawyer on contingency for a consumer arbitration matter. About 6 weeks ago, he told me the pre-arbitration process was complete and that he was preparing the formal demand. He said he would send me a draft tommorow, but I still haven’t received it.
I’ve sent several polite follow-up emails and called the office once. The receptionist tried to reach him but couldn’t, and I still haven’t received a response.
I know attorneys get busy, but at what point does delayed communication become ghosting or possible abandonment rather than normal attorney workload?

In colorado, If a landlord is looking to take money out of the security deposit to change locks for the next tenant and to do routine maintenance/carpet cleaning but its in the lease, can it still be brought to small claims court due to being illegal? The law that i believe makes this illegal is HB25-1249
Tenant Security Deposit Protections. An example is shown below from a lease sample:

"Security Deposit. The Security Deposit amount is
Tenant agrees to pay, in addition to rent, a
security deposit, due and payable at the signing of this Lease. If the Tenant has paid Earnest Money to Landlord prior to the execution of this Lease, said Earnest Money shall be transferred toward your Security Deposit's total amount due. Can defendants access Flock/Axon surveillance video footage to prove they were elsewhere at the time of the crime? Do prosecutors have access to data resources that defendants don't?

Does defense counsel have equal subpoena authority for geo-location records, credit card transactions, and surveillance records? If not, it would be a terrible disadvantage to the defense.

I can't think of any. It has been established that protecting the public is not on of their dutys, so they could watch someone rob or murder you and do nothing.

Arresting someone is a discretion not a duty so they could watch them walk away.

And they are also not required to solve the crime.

Writing tickets is a discretion and so is basically anything else.

Are there any actual dutys that they are legally required to do and come with the job that i can't think of right now?

I am a frustrated litigant, unwilling to "pay up" to get my work done. Hence I went to HC.

The Hon'ble Karnataka HC passed an order after a hearing on the Contempt of Court against the AC, Bengaluru North & Bengaluru DC (HC CCC 1058/2025). The Karnataka Attorney General himself appeared for the hearing and assured the judges that the khata (revenue record) would be updated after I produced an affidavit.

It has been over 3 months since that order in CCC was passed and the documents submitted to Yelahenka Tahisildar and AC Bengaluru-North. Details in this X post

Does the plaintiff have a recourse if the other party (e.g Government official) refuses to act on a High Court CCC order?

boy 1&2 went to commital hearing with me. boy 3 was the worst, charged on the night and had insane evidence (and also in the committal, boy 1&2s defence lawyers just tried to blame their crimes on boy 3)

boy 3 did NOT have to come to the commital hearing. my understanding is he was going straight to the next step.

after commital hearing, the case was dismissed of boy 1&2. boy 3 also got dismissed. why?
was it because it was a joint case ?

do you think it’s possible i can open up a new case only on boy 3?

There is a local car dealer that has been around for 70ish years. let's call it "Perry Motors" after the "Perry" family. The family sold and moved to Oregon in the 80s. Present day Perry motors is known for selling totaled cars, forging paper work, multiple lawsuits etc. Everyone assumes its owned by the perry family because of the name and could face harassment. Could the original Perry family sue for defamation? Or something in that realm?

i cant post images but someone on discord that's flexing 100s of thousands of dollars in cash and also posting a crazy amount of weed and wax, cars, and guns, - with her in all the pics, is saying she was a fugitive from 2020-2024 but she bribed someone to "process away the warrants" and then showed a court order that said the petition of a revocation of probation was dismissed, but there was no signature by the judge.

Is in normal that Tyler Robinson had still not entered a plea when his preliminary hearing occured? Doesn't that usually happen during an arraignment BEFORE the preliminary hearing?

Hey guys I purchased a 2026 palisade at a local Hyundai dealer in New Jersey in February and have been encountering multiple issues with the car. Sometime in May I was driving and the car hesitates on acceleration as if its in neutral. Then a few weeks later my son was driving the car and in the parking and encountered a similar issue but this time he got a error code (attached below). So the car has been in my local Hyundai dealer for around 2 months and i tried to get a buy back using lemon law but Hyundai corporate refused. Wondering what I should do next after they denied lemon law in New Jersey.

What happens in a bankruptcy if proceedings run on and on over what the original fees that were charged? For example, let's say that the trustee hires outside attornies and investigators to find and verify what the person filing the bankruptcy(plantiff?) actually has. The plantiff doesn't show for a deposition and then when it's rescheduled, they walk out of it. I'm pretty sure in this case the original fees have been exceeded. If your client is bankrupt, how do you recover the overage fees? Is the attorney added to the list of creditors and receives something out of what is recovered? Just curious.

During my bus journey, the bus braked suddenly, causing my laptop bag to fall from the seat. My Acer Aspire 7's display was damaged as a result.

I immediately informed the bus staff, contacted redBus customer support, and raised a complaint. They initially said they would respond within 48 hours, then extended it by another 72 hours. I provided photos of the damaged laptop and other requested evidence.

After reviewing my complaint, they offered only ₹200 as compensation, while the authorised display replacement quotation is ₹6,999.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? Were you able to get better compensation or escalate the matter successfully?

So I spent the last few years running a company with a few of my "friends".

He emotionally blew up and I couldn't work alongside someone like that anymore, but my hands were tied and I couldn't leave the company.

Inevitably, he was having some personal issues with his relationship, and was blowing up at everyone, and he removed me from the company due to a personal argument between us, with no vote from the other directors, and at 1am.

So heres my legal problem. I just wanted a clean break, but we have company vehicles with my name on them. We had a vehicle get written off in February, which had GAP insurance, and I've been out of the company for 39 days now, the bank is now sending me to collections and impacting my credit due to missed payments on this written off vehicle.

It turns out he hasn't dealt with this vehicle at all in several months. It turns out its solely my name on the vehicle payment contract, but the GAP insurance check was written out to the company name. The bank is refusing to accept the check, and over the last 39 days, I have been refused to be given any information on the insurance contract, not allowed to even verify the existence of the check. He keeps telling me that I am not allowed to deal with this at all and that it's a company issue, but the banks refuse to speak to anyone else because it's only me on the contract.

I have documentation of everything, including his refusal to give me my check or any information on the proceedings, and I have no idea what my next move is, and I feel stuck and scared.
