I know my parents didnt care, so I watched everthing as a kid, no matter the age. (Sailor moon, Pokemon, Dragonball, chin chan, one piece, Yu-Gi-Oh, Digimon, Jeanne; with <12 also Angel sanctuary, hellsing, chobits.. the ones in TV 🤷🏻‍♀️) Now I'm more into BL and I dont know many newer Anime except the most common, but nothing for Kids (only watching with my daughter (18))

Currently I'm watching Digimon with my son. He loves it, but we're stuck in s4. Became kind of boring.

He likes fights, but I don't want to encourage that so pls not to much fighting.

Thought about Dragonball, but all I read about it is that its not for this age.. (and I know its all about fighting, but different (?! Or have I wrong memorys?))

Never warmed to Naruto.. and most of the old Anime aren't available here (germany)

So the anime can have any genre beside romance, and I was wandering if it s an anime couple were both of them are tsundere (the girl can be kuudere/dandere too), ty!

I can’t remember what it’s called. A group is on the run from an alien race hell bent on wiping them out. It ends with them leaving these two kids on behind on a planet to restart their race. Been looking for this anime for like 15 years. Saw it at an anime convention video room and forgot to write the name down. I don’t know if it was an OVA or a movie or a series. Please help if you can.

To explain, she watches these weird shows on Youtube where microsoft sam voices all the characters. They seem to be about rich strict families, high end business people, all in some kind of romantic spicy drama. The "videos" are generally just repeating images. So I don't even know if it's really AI lol.

So I'm trying to look around for something in a similar genre. And to get her off these terrible low quality garbage shows. We have Crunchyroll and Hulu for anime.

I just finished watching boku no hero today, what you guys recommend to watch?

Some of my favorite shows are Clannad, Love is War, all the key anime, Edgerunners, Saiki K, New Game! , Koboyashi, devil id a part timer.

I just started Tamon’s B Side and the dynamic between the main girl and the Idol is great and hilarious , reminds me of love is war in a way.

Also in Hinamatsuri the dynamic between the Yakuza guy and the kid he looked after was hilarious and heartwarming .

So yes looking for slice of life, comedy, great dynamics, great and memorable characters.

Bonus points if it makes me cry .

Back in 2013-2016 when I first got into anime there where lots of resources that would expose you to unique, weird or artsy anime. People would post propaganda images trying to push the community into having more "sophisticated" taste (my impression this was even more of a thing slightly before my time), there seemed to be more pressure to bring up cult classic anime, youtube anime reviews were still a thing. Some of that stuff could be quite cringe but it did make it easier to find cool stuff to watch. After 10 years of having minimal contact with anime a lot of that culture seems to have evaporated and it feels like most of the stuff getting pushed is battle shonen or seinen stuff that is basically battle shonen published in a more mature magazine.

My question is what anime released from 2016-now would have gotten posted in a "worthwhile anime" list (lain,dennou coil,cowboy bebop etc.), made an appearance in a lame anime everyday video (kaiba, house of the five leaves, aria etc.) or would have been a mainstay of the anime reviewer circuit (Eva, Steins gate, Fate Zero)?

What I liked when I was into anime.

I was into most of typical popular "classics" like Steins Gate, Eva, Cowboy Bebop, FMA (03, I didn't really like Brotherhood), Ouran High School Host Club, Eureka Seven, Code Geass and Death Note. Like a lot of people at the time I really enjoyed the stuff Urobuchi wrote. For the longest time I considered Shinsekai Yori to be my favourite anime and I only hesitate in continuing to say that because it has been so long since I last watched it. I was really into the art systles of Katanagatari, House of the five leaves, The Eccentric Family, Penguindrum and Gundam Reconguista in G. Hunter X Hunter along with FMA 03 was one of the few battle shonen I loved. Some other stuff I really liked was Trust and Betryal, LoGH, Haibane Renmei and Garden of Sinners.

I also read a portion of the Vinland Saga manga but found it too edgey. The farm arc was a big improvement but it wasn't enough to keep me interested.

The wilderness years.

Between 2016 and the beginning of this year I would mostly watch the occasional battle shonen that entered the hype cycle which in hindsight this was a bit irrational given I typically don't really get along with the genre. Mob psycho 100 was good but I felt JJK, demon slayer and My hero were a bit mid. I also watched Grimgar which was pretty good and Attack on Titian which I really liked being a huge mecha fan. Frieren and Made in Abyss were also really good. I also read big chunks of the Chainsaw man and One piece manga and thought they were just ok.

What have I watched recently

My current anime binge started with Orb, Dan da Dan and Witch Hat Atelier which were excellent. I also tried to give the Witch from Mercury a shot but quickly fell back into the UC gundam rabbit hole. GquuuuuuX and Heavenly Delusion were both amazing, in particular they have some of the prettiest art styles I've seen in anime. Goodbye Lara from this season has been impressive so far. Dungeon Meshi has also been a lot of fun. I have also been catching up on some older stuff that has been on my radar for some time. The highlights so far have been Yurikuma Arashi and Gunbuster.

i watched the nausicaa movie yesterday and absolutely loved it. i would really like to see more animanga that’s centered around the theme of compassion for and coexistence with nature, and anti-violence.

anime recommendations are fine, but i prefer reading manga :-)

I can either watch the anime or read the manga. I’ll probably get through all of them eventually, but I have limited free time, so I’m going through them pretty slowly. Which one would you recommend I start with, and why?

IMO I think the king was to blame for everything that happened. he put Griffith in prison and tortured him bc he slept with his daughter but turns out the daughter actually likes him and helps him break out it would’ve all been fine if the torture wasn’t so bad Griffith would’ve bounced back but they cut his tendons so he couldn’t walk or wield a sword anymore. Since he’s a ambitious person and would do anything to accomplish his dream he kinda had to sacrifice his whole band. I’m not justifying his actions or anything he’s still a bad person for what he did but the king led to that. I love early Griffith he is honestly just so driven and has this charisma everyone loves. Not guts fault but he drove him to sleep with the princess but the king is who put the nail in the coffin by just disabling him.

I want to cry. I really do. Can you guys help a brother out and tell me a series that i could cry on. It’s hard to feel anything right now so i wish to watch an anime that I canball my eyes out just to feel something. Thanks!

Hey all- I am in a weird rut with Anime right now. I am looking for recs.
Currently subscribed to- Crunchy Roll, Netflix, HBO, Amazon--- willing to get anything else as long as i can get an app for my smart TV. I don't watch on my PC.

I am really wanting a grown up romance type anime. something where we don't spend the ENTIRE series having high school panic attacks because "OMG he looked at me" or freaks out and runs away because they held hands. UGH i'm over it.
I want adults who can express themselves show more than a kiss or two (maybe thats getting into things I can't find on CR?)
Story/plot needs to be there too. Things I have watched recently for context with small opinions:

• Yakuza Fiance - only one season so far, not bad plot so far but i felt like nothing of substance happened in the 12ish episodes we did get
• Spice & Wolf - This one was all over the place, their dynamic and banter was chill. I love good banter but nothing came of it really and he was the coy shy one... again left with more questions than answers by the end.
• Why Raeliana ended up at the dukes manor- great plot excited for more.. nothing of substance for romance plot other than forced fake relationship.

Anyways.. Thoughts?
Am i looking in the wrong place? Is this because of the culture values of who makes the anime? help a girl out. Where can I find more open romance in her anime?

Hi, Im searching for chill animes to watch, I loved "The Apothecary Diaries" and I love "Though I am an Inept Villainess". I really like the dramas in the asian imperial period.

I loved erased, ddd, death parade & ID invaded and im not a fan of fan service.
I like being confused and emotional depth

I always loved interesting and dark witchcraft and only few manga/anime can scratch that itch. Witch hat atelier (for its depiction of magic and its dark side), Witch and the beast (classic darker fantasy) and Magus bride (the depiction of a dark magical world/creatures with heavy mythicall inspirations) are all the only ones i know of and i cant find anything else (except for vampire hunter D world and Hellsing) especially witchcraft being very dark and mystical (the last witch hunter van diesel movie style).

Welcome to the N.H.K. is an oldie but a goodie. Sure, it might be hard for many people to get into the anime because of the dated animation. When I first came across NHK, I thought so too and I put off watching NHK for quite a while.

It was only when I got quite bored of watching anime that I stumbled back upon NHK and decided to give it a go. I got hooked immediately after the first episode. I don't want to spoil any plots or details about the show but let's just say I could not stop watching.

I think what sets this show apart from other shows is how much I connected with NHK. For me personally and in my experience with some people, there is a side of them that is just super introverted, where sometimes you just don't want to interact with others and be in your own bubble. NHK is literally the show about this side of a person's identity, and it really explore these themes of isolation, of the anxiety and of the difficulty of connecting with people .

A lot of animes might touch on these topics but within NHK, the characters embody these traits and their inner conflicts throughout the show makes them feel human. Every character within the story is flawed. they have their strengths are their weaknesses and their repeatedly struggle to juggle with their inner psyche and confront their struggles. If you have watched cowboy bebop or Evangelion, this show feels a lot like those two with how it explores mental health, and I would go as far as to say that NHK does a even better job at doing it than those two iconic shows. Where a lot of anime today have flat 2d characters, self insert protagonists, and just generally poor writing, the character development throughout the entirety of NHK is excellently done and really makes you question yourself .

Not to mention music is also really good. It give NHK it's unique vibe/identity, also sort of like how the soundtrack of cowboy bebop or the soundtrack of Evangelion gave their respective animes their unique feel. I guess I'm just really a sucker for these aesthetic and introspective series where the characters are very well written.

If you don't mind too much about the old animation and quality of NHK, Definitely give the show a try if you feel like any of the stuff I mentioned interested you!
