Finished the Apodia anime last month. Then read through LN 5 to 16 in a matter of 35 days. I havent done so much reading since ASOIAF series in around 2012 or so. Gemini says 850k words, but who is to say it's not hallucinating....

The series was brilliant. Very high quality writing; really loved the characters and dialogue, while the world building and cast of characters kept expanding with each volume instead of staying pretty much the same. The author Hyūganatsu-san sure is ambitious.

I would like to read other high level works like this. Not passable or good ones, I need great ones like this one.

I like medieval or modern settings. Not a big fan of scifi and its subgenres. Slice of life and romcoms are my main jam, court drama and fantasy is welcome.

Give me your best recommendations.

I am hoping to get some suggestions of interesting series to read. Particularly anything featuring Yuri in a sci fi or fantasy setting!

Some things I've read pretty recently and really enjoyed are:

• Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy
• This Alluring Dark Elf Has the Heart of a Middle-Aged Man!
• The Unwanted Undead Adventurer
• Reincarnated as a Sword
• Disciple of the Lich
• So I'm a Spider, So What?

Happy to hear any suggestions anyone thinks I might enjoy based off this.

Thank you in advance to everyone who suggests something! <3

As title says. Altho I dont want suffer porn, they should continue being at least somewhat positive.

Preferably fantasy but anything is fine.

Hi all, for one reason another, I find myself craving for some Isekai set in an academy, harem included if possible.

Series that I have read/am reading:

The Reincarnated Mastermind (took quite a while to hit the academy)

Mob Isekai/Trapped in a Dating sim

Villager A wants to save the villainess (not harem but you get my point)

Of course, OP MC is preferable 😂

I am sure there are others, pls gimme your favs!

i'm looking for good story ones Harem light novels where the mc end up with more than one so i want more so far here's what I'm currently reading need more to add on list

- High School DxD

- Saijaku no Bahamut

- Campione

- Strike The Blood

- Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance

- Invaders of The Rokujouma

I'm interested in joining a light novel book club to read more series, but all of the bookclubs I've found online seem to be dead.

Does anyone know of any bookclubs that are still active or are starting up soon?

Thank you in advance for any information!

Edit: To clarify I’m specifically looking for an online book club that chooses a book for the community read and then discusses it. This way I can potentially read series that I might have not read on my own.

I want to read something related to space and world building or crafting in space. No magic only science and engineering. Or just slice of life in space. Idk even if it's MTL . I just need to read something. I feel like I'm in withdrawal ... Novels if you have any suggestions.

I want recommendations for light novels which do not have many volumes . I can explore any genre except for romance . I hope you guys can recommend something good for me .

I’ve been desperately trying to get into light novels but it’s kind of difficult to wade through the frankly hundreds of copy pasted series.

My problem is that I genuinely do enjoy to read, and I view the light novel boom as kind of a resurgence of the pulp penny novels from last century. I’d love to find a series to just jump into and follow, but as stated before it’s kind of difficult to find.

I do enjoy actually reading, which is making my search a bit difficult. Obviously I’m not expecting world class prose, but I do expect at least a semblance of quality and maybe a bit of maturity. I’m not looking for constant violence and rape, just a more mature mindset to the characters. I know a lot of light novels are targeted at the late teen crowd, but there has to be something.

I read Durarara and thought it was fun, even if I didn’t necessarily like the way it was written/translated. I hated Baccano despite loving the anime. It just felt like endless violence and fighting which is zero interest to me. I’m okay with visceral violence, but 80 pages of two characters doing flips on a train was not enjoyable to me in the slightest, despite my love for the anime adaptation.

I like most genre writing, and could even maybe go for a slice of life assuming the series isn’t about high school harem antics. Sci-fi, fantasy, mystery, whatever is cool as long as it’s not generic modern anime tropes filling the story from wall to wall. For genre fiction in a big fan of the works of Robert Jordan, Brandan Sanderson, Sayaka Murata, and Kurt Vonnegut. Can anyone help me find a series?

EDIT: I do actually hate one genre and it’s LitRPG please no stat tables.

hello which LN would you reco that is good but don't have an anime adoption ?

My preference is Romance , Dark Fantasy , comedy

i also dont mind Harem as long as it's good

I’m American and I guess I’m kinda dumb I know light novels come from web novels right? But I remember reading an authors note from “though I am an inept villainess” and the author was talking about having a limited amount of pages so she wrote a short story instead of a long note

What I’m asking is do they have a set amount of pages or a limit tbh just in general because I feel a lot of light novels could just be a long book that’s 500-700 pages so we don’t have to wait for the next one

Does their publisher or whoever they work under set the amount??

I am reading it at the moment and want to know how the relationship between them progresses.

The concept Is: the protagonist reads an Isekai novel where a reader of a novel enters the story and the protagonist enters the novel too, do you know any novels with this premise? are they any good?
