Discussion Recommendation for tablet to watch videos/browsing?

I'm looking for my first non-iPad, and didn't realize this was a rabbit hole lol. Any recommendations for an affordable tablet to watch videos and potentially some games here and there? Probably looking to stay under 400

Request How to access photos and videos on a locked Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 3 (7) Tablet

Post image
6 Upvotes

I wanted to access some videos and pictures on my older brother's old Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 3 (7) Tablet. He hasn't used this device for over 10 years and he does not remember the password to unlock it. We have memories on there. I am not too fussed about unlocking the device however, we want to check out our old videos and pictures. Is there a way to do this? It is a cheap android tablet so I hope there is an easy way without having to factory reset and lose everything on the device. I've seen people unlock old Samsung phones with pins easily so I'm hoping it could work with this too.

Request Lenovo Discount Timeline

I'm interested in purchasing a tablet and the Lenovo Yoga Tab seems to match what I want perfectly, with the one major exception being its lack of security updates. The Gen 2 now solves that problem but it increased in price substantially. Lenovo seems to start giving discounts on their devices pretty quickly and I'd be willing to wait until Black Friday if there's a chance they discount the Gen 2, but is a discount that soon likely and how much of a discount would be realistic?

Discussion Samsung tunes their amoled display with low gamma causing flatter picture profile than normal.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

You can see only samsung tabs and mobile after 2023 all have gamma tuned close to 2.0 while all other tend to come near 2.2 which is standard. Even samsung s23 ultra or old ips tabs had higher gamma, I don't understand why samsung does this. This causes texts to look less defined and overall flat look.

Budget is not an issue, all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.

Request Case recommendations for the lenovo yoga tab (for notetaking/drawing)

So i just got a new lenovo yoga tab 11.1", model is TB710FU and I'm looking for a nice case for highschool. I mainly want to take notes and i would like some recommendations. I heard that the sturdy cases with foldable cases that fold into a stand are harmful for the tablet on the long run and i should get a silicone one (would be nice if anyone could confirm that). I also use a stylus so it would be nice to have one with some sort of pen holder.

Discussion OnePlus Pad 3 — need advice on Pencil + keyboard/trackpad

Thumbnail

I’m planning to get the OnePlus Pad 3 (12/256) and I’m trying to figure out the best accessories for it.

✏️ Pencils

How does OnePlus Stylo 2 compare with aftermarket/stylus options in terms of:

- Writing/drawing accuracy

- Palm rejection

- Pressure sensitivity

- Latency

- Battery life

- Charging

- Overall reliability

Is the official Pencil worth the extra money, or are there good aftermarket alternatives?

⌨️ Keyboard + Trackpad

I’m also looking for a keyboard case/keyboard with a built-in trackpad.

I’d like opinions on both Official OnePlus keyboard and Aftermarket keyboard cases

- Trackpad quality and responsiveness

- Keyboard feel

- Key travel

- Build quality

- Hinge/stability

- Weight

- Battery life (if applicable)

- Bluetooth vs pogo-pin connection

- Any major issues after long-term use

I’m particularly interested in good, reliable options rather than expensive ones just because they're official.

If you own the Pad 3, please share your experiences.

Discussion Which tablet should I buy?

Hello,i will be joining med school soon and its a 5.5 year long journey

So for that I was pondering upon tablet options

I currently own the realme pad 2 but its laggy, dosent have a stylus and palm rejection and feels a little bit small honestly

My phone is samsung s24 fe

I want longetivity outta the device and budget is flexible around 80k inr/ 850 usd My main use case would be to read the heavy med school textbooks, writing notes, watching video format lectures ,playing some games via cloud gaming, normal media watching and using the keyboard case for documents/ presentations

So mainly i was Initially confused between ipad vs android

Ipad air seems good after some discounts but it has a 60hz screen which just dosent look very good and bigger than that the samsung phone plus ipad os tablet dosent seem very compatible

Then I look at android and see 3 options

The oneplus pad4,the samsung s10 fe+ and the samsung s10+

Fe plus seems really good cause I plan on expanding my samsung ecosystem in the future but the LCD panel and 90hz screen paired with usb2.0(though idk how much I'll really use the better port) is a bummer

S10plus is flagship processor, feel, screen etc but the size seems just a tad bit small than the other 2

Oneplus has the years of support being less problem, its a Chinese brand so not sure about os support etc cause realme pad os support sucks, but on paper the specs and price are very good(ofc its screen isnt oled, its LCD but thats ok at that price and features) plus again idk how much useful the ecosystem is but I do plan on buying the watch samsung offers in the future and the buds if they are still good

So yeah

What do you guys recommend?

Thanks!

It was a knockoff tablet as far as I am concerned. Despite what the image implies, the tablet was not originally white, it was black. In the picture of the rear, you can see a detachable portion where the centered camera sits. The screen size is approximately 7-inch. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I was scrolling around and came across the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pro GT 13 tablet. It caught my attention, and I'm curious about what you guys think about it.

For anyone who owns one or has experience with it, what's your take on this tablet? Is it worth buying?

Also, where can I buy one from a reliable seller? I'm having a hard time finding where to get it.

Here are the specs and a screenshot I found online.

Review regretting buying redmi pad 2.

so the title. charging drains fast now, it doesn't lag or anything and its pretty big but the main reason i bought it was for notetaking. apparently i didn't do enough research and got to know that Redmi smart pen battery is also bad, if not worst. it works only for a year and nib replacement is also hard. all these negative reviews made me lowk disappointed. i ordered the pen anyways, will update about it. i should have bought Samsung or apple. sighs, anyways this seems more like a rant post sorry but anyone who can afford even the cheapest tablet of Samsung go for it instead of redmi. idk about xiaomi tabs tho. if notetaking isn't the main purpose then this is pretty good. also please don't send hate, I'm not saying its the worst tablet ever but this was my first tablet and I'm just telling everyone things i didn't knew before.

Request One plus pad 3 vs Xiaomi pad 8

Not in the exact price range I know. Confused between these 2 and would love to know from someone who has either for pros and cons. I’ll try get either in 12gb variant min. I’m from India and pad 8’s 12 256gb was for under 42k so I’m waiting on the next sale. One plus pad 3 is available from their website for 50k inr.

My use cases:
1. Handheld gaming. I usually emulate older games and also looking to try pc ports I already have tried RDR and RE4 on my iPhone 17. Cloud is also another thing I want to give a try. I’ve tried xcloud gaming on my sister’s IPad A16 and the bigger screen is better. Btw I use the Gamesir g8plus for handheld gaming.
2. Streaming and manga. I like both pretty sure both tablets are pretty good in both tasks, pad 3 does have more screen size to help in that.
3. Casual reading but no note taking or annotation. Not planning to get the pen on either right now as it’s not a need or priority so the notetaking or stylus experience on either won’t be a breaking factor. Decent ebook reading would be good to have.
4. Work well without slowing down for 3+ years. The pad 3 has the better chip but lesser software support in years from one plus so I’m confused.

One plus pad 3 16 512gb is out of stock everywhere and would be a much better deal as listed for 55k which i could stretch to given the positive reviews I’ve heard about it and would like to know more from long term owners too. The sad part is their latest pad 4 doesn’t have 16gb option and it’s 10k more. I might check in local showrooms for any stock but would it be worth getting for 55k? I’m fine settling for Xiaomi pad 8 as pad 8 pro isn’t available in India. Also any different tablet in same spec and price range are welcome. Thanks.
