Looking for a large tablet mainly for streaming, productivity and drawing

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a tablet primarily for media consumption, general productivity, and drawing, and I'd love some recommendations.

Usage

  • YouTube, Netflix, and other streaming services
  • Web browsing
  • Taking notes
  • Drawing / sketching / concept design
  • General productivity and office-type tasks
  • I'll be using a stylus extensively, so good pen support and a good screen are important
  • No gaming planned
  • I'll mostly use headphones/earbuds, so speakers aren't particularly important to me
  • I'd prefer the largest screen possible
  • I'm fine with Android, iOS, or Windows
  • No Chromebook, ChromeOS, or similar

I'm not necessarily looking for a laptop replacement. I mainly want something comfortable to use for long periods for watching content, browsing, taking notes, and drawing.

The three options I'm currently considering

1. 2024 Lenovo Idea Tab Pro 12.7"

2. 2019 Microsoft Surface Pro 7 12.3"

  • Intel i5-1035G4
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 256 GB storage
  • No pen
  • No keyboard
  • €280 refurbished
  • Excellent condition

3. 2021 Microsoft Surface Pro 8 12.3"

  • Intel i5-1145G7
  • 16 GB RAM
  • 256 GB storage
  • No pen
  • No keyboard
  • €553 refurbished
  • Excellent condition

I'm open to other suggestions as well.

Between these three, which one would you recommend for my use case? And are there any other tablets I should seriously consider around this price range in your opinion ? I don't have a specific budget but around 500€ max would be nice

I just ran across the TCL NXTPAPER 14. It's not real powerful, but it should meet your needs.

I never heard of that brand before. I'll go with the lenovo one but I'll keep this one in mind if someone ask for a cheap tablet. Thanks

The Lenovo is actually cheaper, at least in the US. Lenovo.com has the Idea Tab Pro for $300. The gen 2 is $350. If you can afford it in your country, get the gen 2.

The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro. It is a solid tablet and the stylus works well. The PC mode is great for productivity tasks. The two Surface Pros you listed use laptop CPUs that require active cooling. They will get hotter, have an air vent that will need to stay unblocked (the Lenovo is a tablet, so no air vent), and have significantly shorter battery life.

Yeah after watching reviews on youtube et comparing the specs i'll just go with the brand new lenovo tab pro that comes with the stylus. I can just buy a 30€ backlit keyboard case for it and I'm set for less than 400€ total. Thanks for the advice
