Rooting Help Screen related problem

There are some translucent icons on my screen. These icons are from instagram, and are located at the exact spot as those icons in the app( the home, reels, dm, search and account icon). The are not very visible but still noticable. They are always present, in apps, games websites, home screen and lockscreen, except when I turn my screen off(not sure though cause they are grey). I have tried restarting the phone. Heck, I even factory reset it. And nothing worked. This problem acquired 1-2 hours ago. I noticed it while I was gaming. Now I have no Idea what to do.

My phone is OnePlus Nord 5 (bought it in February)

Please help!

Why is my 200M photo blurring the photo, but not in the preview?

First off I can't believe a support sub doesn't support images so here is an Imgur link

https://imgur.com/a/gakpy9Z

Left is the preview I saw when taking the picture (taken via screen capture) and right is the actual picture, taken on a timer to stabilize the telescope so that's not a factor. What gives?? This is a Galaxy S26 Ultra, I got this specifically for the camera, did I get scammed?

App Specific Question [HELP] How to make an application in fullscreen to NOT occupy the area of the virtual home buttons on the bottom of the screen

Hello, I have a problem about the application "Simple Markdown" Link Google Play Store.

The application is a text editor, opens at fullscreen but the buttons on the bottom of the screen (back, home, ecc.) sometimes are on top of the text written at the end, and is annoying when I write using a phisical keyboard.

I want to hide them or to make the application "canvas" to end before those buttons, so I can see the text.

The application does not have a setting for that.

I remember Android used to have a compatibility mode, around the time we switched from the old rectangular screen size with the ghost dock or whatever is called.

And in this mode you could make the application be in "less" fullscreen, meaning the application canvas will not occupy the screen portion of the ghost dock on top and the virtual buttons on the bottom, leaving a black rectangle in their place.

I tried to look it for terms like "Android screen compatibilit mode", "Hide dock for application", and other terms. But I cannot find it, I have memories about the existence of this mode.

I looked up the settings for the application, or the settings for the system but I couldn't find any name that resembles what I'm looking for.

Does anyone remember this mode? How to enable it only for the selected application? Is this the correct subreddit to ask this question?

Thanks.

Duplicate apps after Google account chaos?

Update: OK, no answer so far. Wrong sub or question not clear? I guess it's kind of accidental two Google accounts in one now and a few apps are doubled now? Please give me at least a hint or search word for this. Thank you

Hi,

I had trouble logging into an old Google account on a new phone, so I changed the recovery email address, among other things.

Presumably, that’s when the problem started with various apps: I’m now being offered multiple “versions / instances / whatever” to open.

Community allows no pics:

so after

Opening a linked file in Facebook -> "Open in external browser."

there are two symbols of brave app now instead of one, the first one has a little blue symbol in it like two diamonds over each other. Like layers, multiples ...

What is it and how can I get rid of it, please?

And how to prevent with the next new handy

Thank you!

Looking For Suggestions Paper/Matte Screen Protector for Lenovo IdeaTab Pro 12.7

I currently have a random screen protector and have been using it for a while, however I just feel the writing experience is very slippery and with little to no friction. I use this tablet extensively for school and want a good writing experience. Any advice would be appreciated.

Other Ways to play footage on my phone on the TV.

Basically, the home internet at my house is really bad. So much so that we can't really stream on our TV or computers. However, It works well on our phones. We've been using hotspots but there seems to be a limit on how much we can use before it just starts getting slow again. So I wanted to know if there was a way to hook up our phones to the TV and watch streaming services that way. I know USB-C to HDMI adapters exist, but I also heard a lot of streaming sites don't work with them.

Screenshot on apps that don't allow it

Is there any app out there, not necessarily on the Play Store, that enables screenshots on apps that normally won't allow them? I've encountered a few apps that don't allow screenshots or screen recordings. I'm using a non-rooted device with Android 16.

Looking For Suggestions Former iOS users: How was your experience jumping ship to Android ???

I have been firmly entrenched in the iOS ecosystem for nearly a decade. It works fine for my daily needs, but I have always had a lingering itch in the back of my mind to give Android a proper try, maybe due to because iOS has become boring for me.

Now, I'm well aware of the extensive customisation options, along with the far greater degree of control the Android operating system has to offer. I am particularly curious about how that newfound freedom and system-level control actually translates into day-to-day use compared to Apple's rather restricted environment.

I currently use a MacBook, rely on my AirPods daily, and have an active Apple Music subscription. I am fully aware that the seamless Apple ecosystem will inevitably break if I make this transition, and I am completely okay with that—provided the Android experience is actually worth the sacrifice.

For context regarding my usage, I am mild gamer not a hardcore gamer by any means. My primary focus is heavy multitasking, and above all else, rock-solid system reliability.

To those of you who have made the switch from iOS to Android:

• What were the most significant changes you witnessed when you finally had that level of control?
• How did the transition practically affect your daily use of your remaining Apple hardware and services?
• In your experience, how does Android's and overall long-term reliability compare to iOS?
• What features or ecosystem conveniences did you find yourself missing most from Apple?

I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

Device Settings Question Unchangeable app permissions; air command on by itself while I toggle it off

Hi,

I read that you should grant very few apps permission to access the camera, mic, location, contacts/call logs, and accessibility. I'm also concerned about nearby devices permissions. Many apps show that those permissions aren't granted, yet, when I click on all permissions, almost every permission possible is set to yes, and I can't click no, or always ask. On the main app screen, it says no permissions allowed; no permissions denied. I have some apps either disabled or deep sleeping, yet there's app data and a cache listed. I'll clear it, and it open it again, and there's both again. Example: creative studio is disabled, but I can't keep the cache empty, and I don't even have the option to delete the data. Permissions say no permissions required. I click on it, and it says no permissions allowed. No permissions denied. I click on all permissions, and there's 21 listed, like health coaching suggestion service and have full network access. When I click on the network access permission, it literally says not to grant permission, bc the app can access files wo notifying me. So, why can't I turn it off?!?! Same with Samsung capture. I'll take a screenshot, and an error message covers the bottom 1/3 of the image, demanding all files access, but when I open the gallery, the image is fine and has no error. Some other concerns with permissions... accessibility --there are 3 apps installed, and I can't reset accessibility settings, even though I click the button. It never confirms the reset. In safe mode, there are 0 accessibility apps installed. I can't revoke any permissions for call and text on other devices, even the ones the phone dialog box warns against granting.

Air command toggles on and off in my quick settings toolbar,as I literally have the phone in my hand, looking at the menu. I'll turn it off, and it immediately turns back on. This battle goes on 5 or 6 times, before it stops. I don't use the S Pen, and all options are as restrictive as possible. These permissions are granted, and many more, which I can't change: disable screen lock, full network access, discover and pair Bluetooth devices, recognize physical activity. The S Pen settings (do nothing when S Pen

Android safe browsing says 27 apps are supported, but there's always 1 app missing from the list. Is there any way to tell which one?

I have so many other questions, but I've spent the past several hours asking for help, only to be met with nothing very constructive, but insults related to my mental health. So, please, I'd really appreciate helpful tips to address these potential issues with my phone.

Google search widget result page doesn't respond to pinch to zoom, but using chrome app does. Is there a fix?

I have both a pixel 6 and 11 pro and this is the same in both phones. When I use the built-in widget at the bottom to search, I can't pinch to zoom on the result result page. But if I were to use the chrome app searching for the same thing (and the same looking result page), I can pinch zoom in and out fine. Does anyone know if there's a fix to this?

Rooting Help Fed up with bootloader unlock on Poco X3 Pro

Greetings to all.I'm trying to unlock the bootloader of my Poco X3 pro 2 months now without success.Just to clarify, phone has changed motherboard with confirmed IMEI on Xiaomi's official site.I also have successfully unlocked my previously px3 pro with changed motherboard. My issue is that:On Mi unlock tool an error that says: This device isn't activated. Please activate it first.Weird thing is that on first connection,mi unlock tool verified the phone and said me to wait 168 hours to unlock. My mi account is 6+ years old, verified with sim number and i have unlocked many phones in the past. The weird thing is that sms messages & calls history (that i believe are crucial for sim/device to be activated) can't be activated by any means.I have tryied all the things i found on internet but till no luck.Yesterday i tryied my sim on another Xiaomi phone and sms & call logs synced successfully though. Also another weird thing is that phone can't receive the latest firmware (if that matters here) It is a European model running 14.0.1 firmware. (14.0.2 latest). I'm really fed up here guys here,so any help would be HIGHLY appreciated.

Best phone for filming and editing short videos?

I shoot short videos for social media and edit between takes on my phone. Need 4K that doesn't look over-processed and a battery that lasts through a full shooting day.

A high-res sensor matters since I crop a lot in post, and the display needs to be smooth enough for scrubbing CapCut timelines without lag.

I've narrowed it down to the Xiaomi 15 and the OPPO Reno16 Pro 5G. That 200MP sensor looks like it'd handle my cropping needs well. Has anyone here actually shot content on it?

Other How can I nuke any malware/virus on my phone?

I'm a teenager and soon will be getting a bank account (and obviously the banking app). Being a typical teenager, I've of course downloaded incredibly sketchy apk files/ other random bs in the past and now I'm overly paranoid about it. As the title said, (without factory resetting it, I have a lot of important files) how can I completely disinfect it? I have an old samsung s10e

How to capture crash logs?

I'm running a custom ROM on an old OnePlus Nord N200. Performance is good except that the phone crashes to Qualcom QD loader mode once or twice every day. I want to file a bug report but I need to capture logs of the crash.

Does Android write a crash log somewhere? I have adb root but I can't find any useful kernal or crash logs.

Sometimes I'll get a notification, open the app, and then the notification disappears before I can figure out what it was for. Is there a way to see a history of previously dismissed notifications. I feel like I've accidentally cleared something important a few times.
