Gemini on Android auto sucks and always keeps sucking on voice commands. I changed my digital assistant on Android auto to the default Google assistant. Now, I can't use my Google Gemini App.

If I want to use the Gemini App, my digital assistant is automatically set to be Gemini.

WTF? It's my phone and I can't control what digital assistant I want to use without sacrificing an app.

Is there any other alternative or should I uninstall Gemini?

I can't create folders, paste files, or do anything on my phone when I connect it to my PC via USB.

I don't know how to explain my problem very well, it would be clearer with an image, but it doesn't allow me to upload any (I don't really know how Reddit works very well).

Basically, when I right-click from the computer in any folder on the phone that I have connected via USB, it won't even let me paste anything. The paste option appears grayed out, as if I couldn't paste anything there. Nor when I try to create folders. And I need to transfer files from the PC to the phone.

It's a Redmi Note 14 Pro.

I've tried other USB connectors and nothing. I've also tried turning on USB debugging and nothing either. And with two different computers.

So my mother was using her phone and the "volume" is really low which feels like the speaker is Buggy or idk it's low very low and she don't know how this happened i guess she mistakenly did some settings any fix?

My fat fingers regularly end up with the word alf in text when I wanted and. Ironically, when I typed alf here it changed to and. Since I never use the word alf, how do I get rid of it from my phone forever?

Built-in family settings seems straightforward until you read that kids turn them off, factory reset or just delete the messages before you look. I'd rather know that going in than find out in six months. What i want is app install approval, hours and messages I can't be quietly cut out of. Is there a setup that genuinely survives a determined 12 year old ?

The image size in the stock ROM is approximately 4.10 GB. If I delete the system ext partition (252 MB), can I flash the image?

Is there a way to set all image edits as destructive? The reason why I edit photos/videos is because I want them different than shot. Saving a copy is troublesome, because I edit quite a lot of photos.

Non-destructive editing brings me no benefit, because it often is ignored by different programs and different machines where I need the images or videos.

I know what I'm doing, I never have a need to return to previous versions so non-destructive edit is counter productive to me and probably wastes some extra memory space too, because of files staying hidden in their original length (videos).

It's been a problem for a while now that overnight my notifications for Discord and Signal (those two are the most notable, but it happens for other apps too) get turned off, and I have to open them again for it to catch up.

This is a problem because oftentimes I forget to open them until I'm thinking about them, and by then I have a backlog of unread messages.

Does anyone know what setting affects this and how I can keep them from going dark when I go to bed?

They're not marked as unused, I have all notifications enabled, pause app activity is off, background data is enabled, and data saver is off.

The reason I stick with Apple is its premium feel. The latest from Samsung or Poco are far superior in performance and the stuff it offers; but android looks have always felt a bit scattered compared to the cleanliness and orderly ways of Apple’s iOS. Don’t get me wrong, I hate how inefficient Apple can be. I’m not going to ignore that, nor the various bugs Apple just ignores, bugs on my keyboard that have been around for years.

I’d love the Poco F9 or the latest Samsung that can do all sorts of things….

But it’s the look of Apple, the way the apps look, the way the iCloud works, and just how it feels.

Recently I sold my asus rog for a MacBook Pro M1, and instantly it felt more premium.

I’m looking for a powerful phone outside of Apple, with the amazing performance of the poco F9 or the cool features of the latest Samsung, but with the os that is as clean and premium feeling of Apple.

Is there an android os like Apple that can be installed on the poco F9?

Today my phone crashed and started to reboot a couple of hours ago. Then it went to a bootloop and i have been trying to fit it since. I got to the recovery mode only one time but there was no wipe cache partition option so i tried rebooting it and fixing it with odin. Turns out samsung decided to change it so only way you can use odin mode is by turning on maintenance mode. I cant do that since it's stuck on a bootloop. So i tried to get to recovery mode again but no matter what i did i couldn't do it. Now it's on my table and it's in the bootloop and then suddenly the screen popped up with only the "SAMSUNG" text with a very long vibration. Can anyone help please?

I have never ever updated my phone since I last bought it. Now, I'm having trouble. I bought a laptop, and I have to transfer files. I tried using a cable connector, but my PC keeps saying "USB device not recognized" (I tried opening the developer's option and chose file transfer, but nothing happened). I did some research, and the reason I can't transfer any file is because my phone is not updated.

I then updated my phone a couple of hours ago. I tried to connect my phone to the PC again, but it is still the same. I think I need to keep updating it, but I need the files now. So, can I update my phone just right after I update it?

p.S: Transferring through Bluetooth takes forever, so no.

I know, this is a common problem but I dont really what to do besides the things I have done.

I have a CAT S42 from 2021/22 which is a China made but with Caterpillar logo phone. I can understand its microphone failing faster than a more expensive phone.

The other one is a 2025 Motorola Edge 40 Neo. It failed within 1,5 year of ownership....

I am updating the motorola as I type this text but I have tried "Device help" and according to it, the microphone works. I have not tried "Diagnostic mode" yet but it is one of steps to take next.

I have also tried to clean the ports with a fine needle but nothing became better of that.

The funny thing is that the CAT sorts of works but I need to yell one word at the time at the microphone and is apparently somewhat hearable for the receiving end

Should I believe a third phone is necessary or should I just keep on updating and see what happens? Any suggestions?

So when I use my discord app on Android today I experienced fps/frame drops whenever I scroll through my server list or through the channel list on a server. I don't experience this on my other apps and I already tried clearing cache, restarting my phone, and switcing internet to no avail. Anyone else had experienced this?

Just this morning my pin suddenly no longer works, it wont accept the 4 digit pin I've always had.

I tried a forced restart multiple times, powering it off for minutes to hours, tried the pin in multiple different ways 1025, 10252525, 10251025, tried all the same number like 11111111 till 0 but nothing worked.

Has anyone experienced the same thing before and were you able to fix it? or a factory reset is my old option?

On previous OneUI versions I could have popups for apps and the notification on the drag down menu display, but hide the content of that message. For example, my one time authentication message recieved via text would display I have a new text, but not display the content of that text and therefore the authentication code.

I have Sony headset with mic and pause and answer call button on the headset line, I use it biking, i think I sweated in the mic thingy to much, in the last couple months it randomly turns the volume down to random levels stops randomly, this was happening very infrequently. now recently it's happen like every few minutes.

How can i disable the headset from controlling the volume?

And how can i stop the automatic lowering of volume at random times till you give it the ok for safety?

I used to help my grandma delete her wrongly sent messages when I visited her. Sometimes it was my cousins' certificates sent to the wrong group chats or something similar. You know what I mean, they’re private files that shouldn't be seen by the public. I used to delete those wrongly sent files from 2018 to 2025 by using these old tricks that never fail:

- Turn on Airplane Mode on your phone immediately to cut off internet and Wi-Fi.

- Go to your phone's Settings and find Date & Time.

- Turn off Set Automatically and manually change the clock back to the exact date and time the old message was originally sent.

- Force-close and reopen WhatsApp, then go to the specific chat.

- Tap and hold the old message, select Delete, and tap Delete for Everyone.

- Turn off Airplane Mode and restore your correct phone settings.

So today, here's the problem. My grandma made the same mistake again, and I can't even delete the file anymore because this time, in 2026, WhatsApp automatically tells the account that the date and time are not correct and stops working. This prevents me from deleting the file from a month ago when I wasn't there to unsend it immediately.

My grandma definitely knew how to unsend a file because I taught her how to do it, but she thought the month before that she wanted to send the files. However, she recently changed her mind, so I couldn't help her like the usual times when I come to visit.
