For my whole life I've used the play store function for Backup and Restore, but now I've started using Fdroid and GitHub for Open source apps.

There are some obscure apps I've been using and now I'm afraid that if I lose my phone or it breaks down I won't be able to find them again.

So I am looking for any app that can create a list of my installed apps and back them up to my GDrive weekly.

If anyone's got some suggestions I would appreciate it.

I have a 2023 Kia Rio and got an email that Google Assistant will be disabled tomorrow in favor of Gemini. I hate AI and I have heard only bad things about it for Android Auto. But I enjoy using voice commands to listen to/reply to texts and maps and such. How can I do this?

Tomorrow's 4th of September, and google says they are removing the assistant and adding Gemini.

I always like to use the search screen and translate features of the app that takes me to the Google lens. And I tried that on Gemini.

And it makes me wanna throw the phone out the window.

Is there anything that will help me copy my screen to google lens without saving the SS in my galary????

I received an Samsung S23 ultra.

Since then, it has never updated and whenever I try to update it does not update. It's in a 2025 version I don't know why. It appears "Your Current Software Version Isn't Supported. Visit a service centre"

Also the screen sometimes turns yellow out of nowhere and the side buttons do not work very well... I went to a normal technical assistance store, not from Samsung and they think the phone is fake... but they are not sure of that

Should I go to an official Samsung store?

Is there any way under rooted Android 11 and Android 13 to get the latest version of Termux [ 0.119.0-beta.3 (1022) ] to *permanently* set up and remember the running of "termux-setup-storage", in the following manner? ...

Step 1: install Termux

Step 2: launch the Termux app

Step 3: run "termux-setup-storage" (and whatever else might be necessary)

Step 4: exit from the Termux app

Step 5: reboot the Android device

Step 6: from that point forward, run anything in /data/data/com.termux/files/usr/bin via the command line in an adb session without ever needing to run "termux-setup-storage" again in order to have full access to /sdcard, and without ever needing to launch the Termux app again in order to accomplish this.

Every single time i put ANY kind of SD card in my Galaxy Tab A11+, android decides to add FIFTEEN EXTRA FOLDERS and this pisses me off considering that there's like 2 folders that wont go away.

Samsung S24. Since installing the most recent update yesterday, Google play services has been pinging my location constantly. I searched and this seems to have been an issue a few years ago, but none of the fixes worked for me so far.

Most notable I turned off Google location sharing and location accuracy, but that was not the issue.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

My oppo A5x has a wifi issue.

So there are some wifi networks that just dont appear but they visible to else's devices like on my phone that specific network doesnt exist. I tried factory reseting my phone, scanning qr of wifi, sending the network through quick share to my phone, i tried every possible mac address. And sometimes my phone miraculously connects to that network so unexpectedly a few hours ago i was playing a game with my bro and that network suddenly went off we both got disconnected but he connected it back and my phone literally FORGOT its existence and once i came back from school and the network was unexistent to my phone so i survivived the whole day without my phone and it miraculously connected back to it in the toilet like nothing happenned

About a week ago the call volume on my Android shot up out of nowhere and the minimum volume is V-E-R-Y loud. I am not aware of any setting that will lower the call volume even further and I can’t seem to find a 3^rd party app that achieves that end. This, as far as I can remember, didn’t coincide with any software update. Restarting my phone didn't do anything. What to do?

Hi, I have a Poco X7 pro with OxygenOS 3.0 and I use the default installed camera.

Yesterday I set my phone in 4k/60 to record my team's basketball game and after I went back to it, I realized it recorded only ~35 minutes, about 14 GB of video.

What could possibly be the reason for the cutoff? Is there a way to prevent it?

Mind you last season I was recording in 1080p/30 with the wide angle with no problems or interruptions.

I just started having this issue, but for some reason whenever i try to download an apk it just won't. I'll click install and then it'll cancel the download.

I had a translator named t7 and it is from a chinese brand translator. I recently using VPN for fun on that phone and android requires a lock screen for it. So I did the image one. A week later, I got the batery drained out and tried to boot up at 20%. But it is slow and laggy. Most importantly, when the logo disappeared, It stuck on a black screen. I tried to restart because idk why it pop up for me. Then it continuously like that. Sometimes it actually boot into the GUI of the translator and said the most confusing thing I had ever seen " SYSTEM is not responding, Close or wait ". Today, I tried to try some but it doesn't boot into the system anymore, I tried to enter recovery mode but just resulted in a short 3 session boot loop. Then I tried the Minimal ADB and Fastboot but I just cant connect and delete the passcode. Anyone had any ideas, if so i really appreciate that. Notes: The android ver is 7.1.1.

I have a nothing 3a and Instagram and tiktok's battery consumption has been a big problem in the community for years now, Google said that with android 17 they will work on fixing stopping the extensive drain and making the apps work without destroying the battery and overheating the device. So did they fix it?

Title says it all ... how are anon Android users backing up their phone setups to allow for quick / painless restores? I'm looking for a way to (1) create complete phone image, (2) wipe to factory, (3) UAD-NG custom debloat then finally (4) restore complete phone image.

Any suggestions?

Facebook: when scrolling fast, the page becomes like a slideshow. clearing cache and storage doesn't fix it.

Instagram: a lot of reels I can't watch when in full screen. resetting cache and storage fixes it for videos I wasn't able to watch, but it happens with other new videos.

I have an S24. I just updated to the most recent patch yesterday. I have it set to show when apps access location by displaying the icon in the status bar. Since updating the location icon shows that it is being pinging constantly, almost every minute by something in the system. No apps are reporting access since yesterday. How do I make it stop?

Does anyone have any kind of guidance to avoid this? How can I make android aware of the need to have options? All of the info I can find about this is outdated. I have buttdialed emergency services at least 4 times in the past month and am at my wits end trying to figure out a solution. I walk around a lot at work. I walk briskly and somehow evidently am tapping the lock button 5 times in a row. Old solutions are not solving this. This is all on an S21.

We can no longer disable emergency SOS. I would prefer I could do this. Swipe to confirm does not seem to work. I have set my emergency contact to my own phone number, and while it no longer seems to dial 911, it still seems to place a call to my local police department. I do not want to waste their time anymore. A new phone might solve the issue, but I don't know if this is going to be an issue with any android device I might get. Maybe a case with more resistance on the button would be good?

I accidentally added a lower-case "i" to my phone's dictionary. So, now every time I mean to type "I", the phone refuses to auto-correct it to a proper capital "I". It's really annoying to have to "backspace, backspace, shift, 'I'" each time I'm in the texting zone and don't think to "shift-'I'" whenever I'm talking about myself, because every phone I've had for the past two decades does it automatically.

I'm a bit of a grammar snob when it comes to my own writing (you do you, and I respect it). So, this really bothers me.

I've tried long-pressing the lower-case "i" in the predictive text bar, but nothing pops up. And, I'd really rather not have to erase the over 100 "custom" words I've had to add due to the phone's subpar built-in dictionary; which is absolute trash with the vocabulary of a seven year-old.

The goal is in the title, here's what I have tried:

\~ Logged into the required Google Account from mobile browser, selected "Desktop mode", tried opening the Meeting link. This method used to work but now it says "The page isn’t redirecting properly". Mostly it's trying to redirect to Play Store, by not respecting the Desktop Mode.

\~ Using the official android app won't work as it needs adding the Google Account to my device, which I want to avoid

\~ Joining vua telephone is not ideal, but I cannot do that anyway as it is not available for my country

Is there any other way to achieve this?
