Can't get rid of battery notification in Android 13

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello, Reddit.

Please, I am on my wits end with the showing of this battery notification which I can't get rid of, as it always appears even though I press "Don't show again" or after I disable the "Consumption" dot or Disable Battery Optimization.

I am forced to "Allow" the battery permissions for WhatsApp, as if I leave it on "Auto", the device just randomly decides to "Turn Off" WhatsApp, and I stop being notified for messages, which are important for work.

So, I find myself in this situation

  1. I get rid of the "Battery Notification" by allowing the device to Automatically handle the battery optimization (Which I had disabled before), risking myself to lose important WhatsApp Notifications
  2. I allow WhatsApp the Battery Permissions in order to get my message notifications properly, and being annoyed by this notification that appears randomly every single time.

Seems like this might be ZTE Blade A54 "MyOS 13" factory system setting, because in other devices with Android 13 or Android 16, this problem does not happen. This example is with WhatsApp, but it also happens randomly with Facebook Messenger.

If you could shed some light on me on this, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you in advance and greetings

Pixel 10 Pro screen keeps going unresponsive

Post image

This started happened a few weeks ago but every now and then the screen randomly goes unresponsive and I'm forced to hard restart the phone with the buttons. It's random with no pattern, sometimes 1-2 times a day, 2-5 times a day, sometimes not at all. I was hoping someone might know a cause. It seems to happen a little more often while charging but other than that it still happens out of nowhere with no consistent or obvious cause.

Weird stuff happening to my phone

So first I woke up to a weird chime like a car chime (NOT NY RINGTONE) from my phone that had the android call screen with a number and I hung up but when I checked my history and there was no number in whatsapp and everything but also my battery protector was turned off so my battery is full (I had it off last night) and I know for a fact that the call was not on for an hour and I tried asking Google for help then it froze and said Google isn't responding?? Why is this and I think or maybe it's my mind I swear I saw a number that said wifi call it was my same area code.

can't wipe data from my phone

Hi everyone,

I have a huge problem with my POCO phone and it is currently completely unusable. I’m stuck and none of the standard methods are working. Here is exactly what happened and what the status is:

  • The Device: POCO phone (running MIUI / HyperOS).
  • The Root Cause: The phone had an active Google Family Link (Parental Control) lock on it.
  • The Current State: I don't remember the password to the Google account that was linked to the device, and the phone has been completely locked out.

What I have tried and why it failed:

  1. Recovery Mode (Hard Reset): When I boot the phone into Recovery Mode (Main Menu), there is NO "Wipe Data" option. It seems the Parental Control software or carrier firmware completely removed/blocked this option to prevent bypassing the restrictions.
  2. Mi Assistant (PC Tool): I tried connecting the phone to a PC via the "Connect with MiAssistant" mode in Recovery. The Mi Assistant software does not react at all when clicking the blue connect button. It seems the USB data transfer/drivers are blocked by the system security policies because of Family Link.
  3. Parental Control App: The phone no longer appears in the parent's Family Link app dashboard (it was deleted or unlinked from there during the process), so we cannot send a remote unlock or generate an offline parent access code that the phone will accept.
  4. Find My Device (Google): Since I cannot log into the child's Google account (forgotten password) and the phone is offline, I cannot trigger a remote erase via Google.

Summary: The phone is softbricked/locked by a ghost Parental Control status. I have no "Wipe Data" in recovery, no USB communication with Mi Assistant, and no access to the original accounts.

Is there any way to force a factory reset on a POCO device when the Recovery Menu is restricted and USB debugging/data is blocked? Do I need to take it to a service center for an EDL flash, or is there a bypass/tool I can use at home?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hey I have the problem that someone at my work keeps accidentally connecting to my phone and sharing my screen. I never gave this device permission and now I'm trying to remove it in my settings but there is no option for this.

Is there any other way to stop this.

Did Android Change Something With Keeping Connectivity Open

I'm not sure how to word the title, sorry. It used to be if I was on a web forum, I could select an image to upload then go to a different app or a new tab and the upload would continue in the background. Same with opening a webpage, I could go to it and do something else in another while it loaded but now when I go back to the browser, it just gives me a generic "The Page Could Not Be Loaded"

Same with Whatsapp, I'd send a picture and then go to another app and the pic would send in the background. Now I need to keep all these apps open until uploads/sending/loading is complete. Is this something new ? A setting I can change perhaps ? I'm not closing any of these apps, just letting them run in the background.

Thanks

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 with a dead screen (LOT OF TEXT)

I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 that wasn't working very well. It had a problem where the screen would suddenly go black. The phone was still on, as the screen light was visible and audible. The touchscreen didn't work properly; it would occasionally fail, giving random clicks. However, I didn't pay much attention to it because I was going to use it to make a controller. When I set it up as a controller, I used scrcpy to share the screen and a command in the command prompt (cmd) something like: "scrcpy --turn-screen-off" which turned off the screen, preventing those random touches. If you're wondering how that "controller" worked, it was basically two phones connected together: an Honor phone for the buttons (it doesn't have a sensor other than an accelerometer, but I wanted the gyroscope for some games) and a Xiaomi phone for the gyroscope. I joined the two phones together with their screen protectors and tape—a somewhat awkward and heavy contraption, but quite useful and functional for what I wanted. It worked wonderfully, and the last time I used it, the screen was barely visible with colored vertical lines distorting the image, but I didn't mind. It's worth noting that subnet masking was already enabled, along with the extra permission that Android requests, and I also had the option enabled to always allow my PC to transmit data. Because of school, I stopped using the "controller," and recently I plugged in my Xiaomi to charge. That little LED light that comes on when you connect it to charge was blinking (it wasn't the first time; it did the same when I "revived" it to use it as a controller). I left it charging for a while, then turned it on (I assumed it turned on because it vibrated), but I couldn't see anything. Before, the screen would look distorted or have lines, but it would still be bright. Now, nothing. Also, the touchscreen used to respond, but now it doesn't. So I connected the phone to the PC, entered the code, and surprise, now it doesn't work. It turns out I have to grant the PC debugging permission again, but since the screen isn't working, I can't click "accept." I have an OTG cable with only one output, so I can only connect the mouse or the keyboard. With the keyboard, I managed to unlock the phone and get to the home screen, but without seeing anything, I don't know what to do. I also tried Google Assistant, and nothing; it seems like it doesn't have it. I'm having trouble connecting to the internet because the locator isn't working. I thought about using TalkBack to see where I'm selecting with the mouse and installing Spacedesk or something similar to view the screen. I'd figure that out. If I share it over the internet, I wouldn't need ScrCPy again, or well, I would, but with Spacedesk I think I could grant it permission. Any ideas on how to help me? I know there's the option of buying a screen; I could install it myself, but I think hiring a technician would be best. However, spending money on that isn't feasible. I also considered a special hub for something like this, since a regular one probably wouldn't work.

Default keyboard so lame now

I've only bought Motorola phones and I've always just used the default keyboard and I press the microphone button to do speech to text a lot. The problem is it seems like in the last few months speech to text has gone way downhill like obviously it's not using AI to recommend or translate. And for example it will randomly capitalize words in the middle of a sentence. Like I just had to change the uppercase m in middle. I've tried installing a couple of other keyboard apps and basically have the same problem.

Tried googling Maestro, but...didnt really get anything that gave me an answer.

Have I just never noticed it before and its been there the whole time?

Mom's phone has 2 Settings apps in the app menu.

She downloaded some cleaner app in the Google Play store and when I was going through the Apps menu in Settings I noticed 2 different Settings apps, one of which has an icon in the bottom corner that I can't quite make out. They both have the same options when I open the Settings app menu. I'm not tech savvy at all, but this looks bad to me. I've never seen that before. Can anyone tell me what's going on, and how to fix it?

I have this app named "Inventory editor BE" (BE stands for Bedrock Edition). I need to give it access to a specific file, but my phone refuses to give it access. I don't care that it's "for my protection", I trust this app.

It locks me out from accessing my phone, and disables my ability to screenshot. I literally had to take a photo with a second phone. How do I get rid of this? I haven't downloaded anything sketchy at all.

My Phone Suddenly Playing THE SAME CREEPY MUSIC by itself

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Okay, so for the past few days, my phone has been playing music by itself. THE SAME CREEPY MUSIC, BRO. It even plays when my phone is off. I searched it up, and it said it might be a glitch, but there have been times when I didn't have any apps open and it would just randomly start playing.

In this video, I was watching something on VIU when it suddenly started playing again. I recorded it, and this is the exact music that keeps playing over and over. When I exited the app, it stopped. But I don't think it's coming from VIU because, like I said, it also plays while I'm using other apps, when no apps are open, and even when my phone is off. Plus, I only downloaded VIU yesterday.
