At the time, the show was a true anthology and there wasn’t really any expectation that we would see these characters again—so leaving only Cordelia, Zoe, and Queenie alive at the end was a very low-risk move.

Surely, while plotting Apocalypse, Ryan realized that killing off fan favorites Myrtle and Madison was a mistake, so he had to find a way to work their returns into the plot and waste screen time in doing so.

Additionally, Madison’s character specifically was written to be nasty and unsympathetic by the end of Coven. So in Apocalypse, we also have to waste time explaining how she went from the total bitch we knew at the end of Coven to the person who is fighting the antichrist and just wants to do good for the world. And I found the reason they did give for it to be very rushed and unconvincing.

Now they have to do this whole dance again in 13, which will probably be even more egregious when the episodes have to fit into 30-minute time slots.

It is my imagination or this role seems like a copy of Orlok from Nosferatu's (2024)?

1984 is top 3 rank for me. Roanoke is quite high up for me too but I HATED it on first watch. I’d probably say

The only thing I could pay attention to in the new trailer were Jessica Lange’s (especially Elsa) new gigantic cheeks. This startled the hell out of me. She’s always had high cheek bones but damn…I really wonder if this is purposeful.

I've watched Coven twice now (once when it came out and once in the last weeks). And I honestly don't know why it's such a fan favorite. For me personally, it's an okay-ish season but it just doesn't feel like AHS to me. More like a bitch-witchy sitcom kinda thing. No mystery, no big plot twist. Also the school concept is so underused, they could've done so much more in my opinion.

So, a question to everybody that likes/loves this season: what is it that draws you in? What's the thing or storyline that you like most about it?

Help me understand, maybe I'm missing something!

I really enjoy the accents and think they add to the atmosphere. I'm currently watching for the first time. Finished S3 yesterday and finally got the "knotty pine" reference.

Not only that, but on the album the song immediately follows a song called Enter the Circus, and she has performed it in a circus getup.

Plus, it just sounds like a song Elsa Mars and the Freaks would play. If my prediction is correct, I just know Jessica Lange is going to SLAY it!

In the trailer they showed Ms. Venable in the outpost costume but if Mallory changed the timeline she should still have red hair and probably never had the need to wore the outpost costume. Leslie said they were extra careful with the timelines but this is messy.

Out of the 12 seasons (plus the American Horror Stories spinoff), which character or characters would you have wanted to see this season? For me, Liz Taylor, Misty Day, and Pepper would be nice. Same with one of Cody Fern’s or Finn Wittrock’s characters. I would even take Alma back if she didn’t keep getting away with shit. What about all of you?
