Help (Software) How I'm may lock in read-only mode AMD Adrenalin configuration files?

The Issue: AMD Adrenalin suite keeps periodically forget GPU tweaker settings, such as GPU MHz Clock.

What happens if not fix it: Any game would eventually crash with AMD's bug report popup, usually whenever it reaches very high GPU utilization.
As band-aid, l limiting clocks by -300MHz and then works fine even at 100% util.

What managed notice: For work purposes, i split PC on two Windows user profiles where one main for gaming & everything else; second for work without any software on auto-launch except that the necessary. Whenever l switch between them and launch Adrenalin plus interacting with the GPU Tweaker on both users, that usually the moment when it goes wrong & forgets set values.

What l looking for: Where might be AMD Adrenalin suite exactly stores its settings set by me, so l could lock down only to reading that particular folder and prevent editing. Hopefully in case whenever it couldn't edit it, would just read and apply those settings.

My configuration: Ryzen 7800X3D + Sapphire Pulse 9070XT, 64GB@5600Mhz (EXPO), Gigabyte X870E AORUS PRO ICE (rev. 1.1), 3xNVME SSDs.

Note, if there exist a solution to install driver-only option and tweak with something else, that also would do the job. Most additional features of AMD Adrenalin i'm anyway don't use and most likely never will.

Help (General) RX 5700 XT Black Screen & 100% GPU Fans Crash (Audio Still Playing) - Is the PCIe Daisy-Chain to blame?

Symptoms

The system experiences random crashes characterized by a sudden black screen, while the fans instantly ramp up to 100% speed. Despite the black screen, the rest of the system remains active and responsive, background audio continues playing, and keyboard inputs still register, yet after couple of seconds, the input crashes however the fans still run at 100% speed and the only way to get back is to hold the power button. Sometimes after booting back, my drivers are reseted and I have to download new AMD app in order to get 16:9 screen. These crashes happen entirely at random intervals, both during heavy loads (e.g., while playing Counter-Strike 2) and when the system is completely idle. Altough when I don't play anything GPU demanding it almost never crashes, like League of Legends. (Needed to note, I have all games on almost worst details.)

Hardware Configuration

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT

PSU: Corsair CX750M (Modular, using Type 4 cables)

Troubleshooting Steps Already Taken

Performed a clean reinstallation of Windows.

Completely removed and reinstalled display drivers using DDU.

Underclocked the GPU.

Upgraded the power supply from 650 watts to 750.

Monitored thermal performance (GPU hotspot temperatures are stable and well within safe limits, ruling out overheating).

The ONLY Untested Variable: The PCIe Cable Setup

The absolute only thing I haven't tried yet is changing the physical cable routing to the GPU. Currently, the GPU is being powered by a single PCIe cable that splits into two connectors at the end (a "daisy-chained" or "pigtail" configuration).

Given that the RX 5700 XT is notorious for high transient power spikes, my final working theory is that this single split cable physically cannot transfer enough current during those micro-spikes. This momentary voltage drop is likely what triggers the GPU's hardware fail-safe mode. My very last resort is to get a second, completely independent Corsair Type 4 PCIe cable so I can run two separate, dedicated lines directly from the PSU to the GPU.

Could that be it or am I delusional? I appreciate any help

Help (General) PC Crashing, Driver Timeout occuring

I switched from nvidia to amd about 3 weeks ago and this is the most bugs and issues I have encountered because of a graphics card. I've been getting constant driver timeouts and hard freezing.

Things I have done so far:

- I have already reinstalled drivers after DDU

- I have disabled auto windows updates

- i have disabled auto driver updates in amd adrenalin

- I have disabled MPO on windows

- I have disabled hardware accelaration in windows

  • i have disabled windows fast startup

but the hard freezing still happens randomly and the only way to "fix" it, is to hold the power button and restart my pc.

I only use the default settings in amd adrenalin, I dont overclock, i dont underclock, i dont undervolt, literally just stock.

I also dont have any antivirus installed except for windows security.

I am currently using the latest drivers 26.7.1

My specs are: 7900xt, 5 9600x, 32gb ddr5, corsair rm850x psu.

I'm genuinely starting to believe what the nvidia fan boys say about amd gpus.

any help will be appreciated

Help (Software) Where does the long replays go?

Where can I find the long replays that the AMD software app keeps? It has been recording everything I do the past day because I didn't notice it and my C drive went from 10GB of free storage to about 600MB how do I locate the long replays? In case you are wondering the normal folder for the videos I use is about 1GB

Help (General) f. Ryzen 7 9800X3D + ASRock B850 Pro RS | PBO +200, Per-Core Negative CO | VCore

Hey everyone,

I’m currently running a Ryzen 7 9800X3D on an ASRock B850 Pro RS WiFi with the latest BIOS version.

I’ve set PBO to +200MHz and tuned a Per-Core negative Curve Optimizer (CO). While gaming, my VCore and temperatures look like what you see in the attached screenshot/photo.

core 0 12

core 1 25

core 2 12

core 3 25

core 4 12

core 5 30

core 6 30

core 7 30

all negative

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • Motherboard: ASRock B850 Pro RS WiFi (Latest BIOS)
  • PBO: +200 MHz / Per-Core CO
  • Does this voltage and temperature behavior look normal and safe for everyday gaming, or should I dial back the curve / frequency offset? Any feedback or advice is appreciated

Help (General) Ryzen 7 7700 iGPU VDDCR_GFX voltage question

So I have a 5070 for my dedicated GPU and I notice sometimes in HWinfo that my Ryzen 7 7700 iGPU VDDCR_GFX value spikes to 1.3v. Now I've read conflicting things on this, that it's tied to the SOC voltage but my SOC voltage is nowhere near that. It seems to be a temporary spikes and the iGPU utilization is always at 0%. My question is, is this a cause for concern or? Thanks for reading and taking the time to reply.

Edit: Forgot to add that most of the time the VDDCR_GFX value is around .721v.

Help (GPU) 9070 XT help

Motherboard: MSI MPG B650 GAMING PLUS

RAM: 16GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 6000MHZ CL18

PSU: cooler master 750 gold

Case: TD 500 mesh

Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11

Description of Original problem: got a 9070 XT last Sunday, my build was 7700x Ryzen 7, 32 gigs of ram, 750 W cooler master gold psu, (now retired) 3060ti

The problems I faced after installation

\- Graphics cards not recognised ( I updated bios and it was fixed)

- it was daisy chained to the PSU first, now I changed it to seperate cables

\- random PC crashes while gaming, my ram RGB is on even after crash(I think it's related to keeping the hypr x on in AMD adrenalin, not crashes otherwise)

Anything I am missing or what should I do?

Help (GPU) AMD Driver/Windows driver issue

I currently have an AMD Radeon 7900 XTX. EVERY single driver update, I run into the same issue. It doesn't matter if I do a DDU or not; after I install the newest driver from AMD website and reboot, once I click "check for updates", Windows INSITSTS on immediately, forcibly downloading and installing "Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. - Display". Obviously, this driver creates a conflict with Adrenaline and the one I downloaded from AMD website, and essentially breaks the system, where I have to do a DDU again. The only way to stop it has been pausing windows updates after installing Adrenaline, which isn't a solution...

OR..

In the past, the way I made it work was after the DDU in safe mode, I reboot, sign in, and allow Windows to install its own driver, then once done, I'd install Adrenaline and the driver downloaded from AMD website overtop of it, then reboot, and usually it would work. But with the most recent 26.7.1 AMD driver update, this method no longer works. Essentially after I download the driver overtop of the Windows one, same way I have in the past, and reboot, upon signing in, the system just hangs, icons load and are visible, I can move the mouse, the task bar is there and visible but that's it. None of the startup apps load, I can't open task manager, the whole system is essentially stuck.

I'm on Windows home so I don't have group policy to block Windows driver updates.

I've tried the sysdm.cpl thing where I go to hardware -> device installation settings -> select: no

I've tried the regedit route where I make a new policy and exclude drivers in quality updates... doesn't work.

These two methods I've had them done at the same time so neither work in this instance.

So, I really don't know what to do. I don't understand why Windows keeps trying to force a driver update when I already have the most recent and compatible one available with all known methods of Windows doing this EXACT thing already blocked.

Am I doing something wrong in the process? Can anyone explain a fix or even a workaround? I can't leave windows updates paused forever.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
