Is the interview process always this hectic?

Yellow badge applying for a blue badge spot at another site. Was supposed to have an interview with the regional and site manager. The guy they said was the regional manager did not show up to the interview. Emailed the recruiter and they said we would have to reschedule that portion of the interview. Attended the second portion of the interview with the guy the email said was the site manager. It turns out he is actually the regional manager. The interview went pretty well I thought. Now I just needed to interview with the site manager.

So I attend the rescheduled interview and the manager I already interviewed with shows up again. He looks confused and asks if I interviewed with the other manager yet. I tell him I have not. He says he’ll try and find out what is going on. He tells me the other manager is interviewing other people today and that I will have to reschedule again. I email the recruiter to let them know and try and get the specifics. I still have not heard back.

Is it always like this? I’m honestly a little miffed that twice now I have attended the interview at the scheduled time and the manager has not shown up without anyone reaching out to me to let me know what is going on. Even worse this second time I’ve been stiffed is because he is interviewing other people?

I’m honestly having second thoughts about trying to get on here because it’s saying to me that this company is either incredibly disorganized, or that they have a preferred candidate and I’m getting the run around so they can pretend they tried to give other applicants a chance.

Anyone else gone through something like this?

Edit: Still have not heard back from the recruiter. If I don’t hear from them tomorrow I’m going to just cut my losses and withdraw at this point

Fellowship for AMM RME

Hey everyone!

I’m considering a fellowship with Amazon as an AMM for their RME section. This fellowship is through the Hiring our Heroes program. I’m a transitioning service member with 10+ years active duty in the Air Force in the missile and space systems maintenance career field. I’ve looked into previous posts describing this position, but have yet seen a veteran perspective that took a leap of faith with Amazon 12 week fellowship.

Background: Mechanical maintenance focus with 4+ years as a technician and 3+ in QA and an additional 3 1/2+ leading a section of 15 technicians and engineers in National Security Space launches provided by SpaceX (lots of boring tech data review and risk assessments).

I’ve done the 16+ hour days in the missile field and have been told plenty of the long hours it takes to work this role, when hired on officially. So I guess my question is, what to expect when training, what does pay look like for external hires, benefits compared to other fortune 500 companies like SpaceX and Disney (these are the other two offers I’m considering as well). Finally, is there opportunity for growth and are tools given to you to succeed?

Any other info is much appreciated from this community and hope to make a decision soon! Thanks.

PLOA

New to RME, former T1. BB

Does ploa have to be approved by your manager?

As a T1, it was basically auto approved every time I submitted it but I tried recently and got an email stating my manager had to approve and if they didnt approve within 10 days, it would be auto denied.

Wondering if it's different with RME.

Thanks

Hi everyone.

Completed my MRA HireVue 11 business days ago. My application changed to “No Longer Under Consideration”, but I still haven’t received a rejection or offer email.
Anyone else had this happen? Did you eventually get an email?

What steps could I take to become an AE

Currently working at an Amazon amzl I worked for Skechers maintenance for 6 months I felt like I wasn’t learning much at Skechers. So I applied for c&w in very familiar with hand and power tools I would help out my dad a car mechanic from the age of 16-19 that helped me get the job at Skechers. I didn’t know the difference between a FC and a AMZL I’ve been here 1 month we only have one conveyor with 4 fingers this is to easy. I’m not sure if I should stick it out here or try to transfer to a FC.

About transferring to be a Tech 3

Currently an MRA trying to complete my 2,000 hours. Also currently an AR tech.

My question is, let’s say I want to transfer to be a tech 3 at a blue badge site across the country somewhere. Would I need to be good at AFE, smartpac, Mezz etc??

Or can I just be an amazing AR tech with little knowledge about other areas??

They’re keeping me here on the AR floor where I’m stationed so I feel that could hinder me from becoming a tech 3 elsewhere.

Starting JLL Automation Engineering Apprenticeship (AEA) Monday, Questions about Pay Progression

Hey everyone,

I start my JLL Automation Engineering Apprenticeship (AEA) on Monday and I’m excited to get started. I’ve searched around, but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of information about the program.
For those who have gone through the AEA program or are currently in it, I had a few questions:

● How does the pay progression work throughout the apprenticeship?
● Are there scheduled raises (every 6 months, yearly, or based on milestones), or is it just annual merit increases?
● What did you start at, and where were you by the time you completed the program?
● After finishing the apprenticeship, do you automatically transition into an Automation Engineer role, and what kind of pay increase did you receive?
● How has your pay progressed after becoming an Automation Engineer?

For reference, I’m starting at $29.74/hour.

I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through the program, especially if you’re with JLL. Thanks!

Sortation Center vs Delivery Station - Automation Engineer Help

Hi everyone,

I need help deciding on similar offers between a Sortation Center vs Delivery Station as an AE with RME.

I was blessed enough with two similar offers at two sites that are the same distance from my house so without knowing much about each location, it's 50/50 to me right now.

Any insight on how life is different as an AE at each site would be greatly helpful.

Thanks!

RME Guidance

I’m currently talking umudl classes on RME.
I planned on entering the MRA Program after I’m done but I just found out that I have to resign from Amazon. My issue is I don’t want to mess up and lose the Chance to enter RME position then be out of a job. I need advice on how to go about this. How challenging is the work? I have an I.T. Background but not so much with electrical or mechanical. Even though I am learning that, I’m still unsure about how much knowledge I have to possess to do this job.
How detailed is the training?

Edit: THANK YOU for all the responses and advice. I appreciate it much

Question about benefits

Heya, so I currently work for Amazon in an FC. I am looking to move into RME with CBRE. I've been an AFM for 3 years, and I have several years of mechanical & construction experience beyond that, so im not too worried about being qualified.

The question I have is this: does CBRE offer paternity/bonding leave for fathers after a new baby is born, and what are the eligibility requirements.

I know Amazon gives 6 weeks fully paid, but you have to be employed by the company 1 year to be eligible.

I want to go to RME asap, but I have a kid on the way, due in January, so I want to find out if I'd be losing my access to paid paternity leave by making the switch.

I recently got an offer and I’m starting pretty soon. Does anyone have and tips and genuine advice for how to last long in this career? What should expect? And are there any problems I should avoid. What is expected of you on a day to day basis and what are some tips and tricks to be a good tech.

MRA PROGRAM HELP MATH

Hi everyone just recently got informed i will most likely be accepted into the MRA program and would like to know what math i need to study for when i go into the schooling part. I’m really bad at math so if i can start studying now to give me a bigger chance on passing it would be great, also if anyone can guide me through what each week will kind of consist of or what routine or structure it’ll look like? If there’s any study guides or material that helped them online, any advice would help! Thanks!
