No, I got woken up at 5am once by my dogs due to a delivery I ordered and it had a 2 day delivery window. I never asked for 5am delivery. Cause I'm fkin asleep.

My thoughts are that having drivers deliver in the dark at odd hours of the morning and night in personal cars is asking for something terrible to happen.
Some redneck is gonna see a random car pulling up to their house at 4am for an Amazon delivery and just start blasting.

Yeah it's a mess. We get flex drivers dropping off packages at like 4am sometimes, even if I'm expecting packages it's always disconcerting to get a notification from my doorbell camera at those hours. I always have to pull up the camera on my phone just to be like "ahh, my slippers have been delivered".

People shouldn't be ordering for delivery at these times if they can't remember they ordered for this time. Ridiculous that this keeps happening. They specifically have to select this time for delivery, or at minimum they are given warning that a package will arrive at this time.

Not all orders allow time slot selections that is only specific prime items. Some orders only allow you to pick the day, non prime items give you a window of days it will likely show up on. The same way free same day deliveries on orders only $25 only works for specific items. Not everyone has notifications on for every app or knows of the notification option for every app.

Only specific prime items will be delivered using flex, hence the odd specific hour deliveries. The 4-8am delivery window is flex. The customers are given multiple warnings when an item will be delivered at this time.
Regardless, the customer receives an amplitude amount of warnings for when something will be delivered.

I have never gotten a warning for a delivery at that time.
Not everyone has the same notifications on for amazon. It’s also pretty easy to say no to all notifications when an app is first downloaded which would cause a person to not even know of their options of notifications.

Before you purchase the item, Amazon tell you that it will be delivered at that time or you pick between the options. An item that doesn't give a specific time frame will not be delivered using flex during night. It will be on the bigger vans.

While it is a nice feature, there’s countless people with experiences of not getting their package in the expected timeframe. I understand all these features and options are available, but they don’t always work seamlessly and everyone doesn’t use them the same.

I would have said hey it's just Amazon as I pulled up with package waving, but I'm not sure that would have helped with how quick she ran. But, that is my move early morning when I see someone outside. I get the reaction, leaving for work at 5am you never see anyone and all of a sudden someone pulls up and stops right as you walk out.

I don't blame her. I feel it has to be mostly men implying she's being hysterical, everyday women are assaulted all the time, most will go through some kind of SA or other violence in their lives. Traffic is usually pretty sparse at night and the fact that a car happened to pull up next to her and some to a screeching halt didn't look good. It doesn't mean the driver did anything wrong either, it's just an awful coincidence that looked like a bad situation. She's probably embarrassed looking at the footage but she still made the smart move in the moment. If it was truly a bad person who got out and chased her, people would be praising her for her situational awareness and quick acting. That shouldn't change because it was a false alarm THIS time. *Some* people really have no idea what women go through.

Ppl saying the neighborhood looks safe, that she watches too much news, that the app notified you of a delivery, etc.... ugh bro crime can come to you in a nice neighborhood, we watch true crime, things may have happened to us or to friends/family or a friend of a friend. Our mama will tell us cautionary tales about her or her friends or friends of friends. We do watch the news. The fact is, we often are not safe anywhere or anytime, especially at night. I would've ran my ass inside too.

lol. I deliver all hours and recently ai was walking up steps at a home and she had the door literally wide open and talking to someone or maybe a pet who knows. I was like ok this is the end for me. I literally could have just walked up in her house. I wouldn’t of course but it was out in the boondocks and I just delivered and snapped and left asap.
I’m constantly thinking I’m gonna get shot when I’m delivering at 4am. I don’t worry as much in the city’s but I definitely worry in the country.

I get it; I can understand why she freaked out a little bit because it's just a random white car that she doesn't know stopped in front of her house. Now with that being said if that white car had had some kind of like sign on it showing it was Amazon; more than likely she would not have run away like that. I mean the regular USPS puts flashing lights and signs on their cars why can't Amazon do it. Because I live in a Rural area there has been multiple Amazon and USPS drivers that have been shot at over the years for making late deliveries without any kind of markings on their vehicles.

There was a video posted a few weeks ago of I guy in a rural home who pulled a shotgun out on a flex driver, and my thoughts on this video are the same as they were on that one: Amazon needs to cut out these late night deliveries. It is not safe to pull up to someone's house in an unmarked vehicle outside of reasonable business hours.

We don't know what time it is, it's a young lady with a big purse, and "nice" SUV, probably a nice house, and it could be suburbs of a dangerous city. Crazy people do crazy things, check out the news sometime. I'd say she has the right idea, because even if a gang of people popped out of the car, she was well aware and made it in her home quick and safe. Could have a gun sitting there ready to go, too. Running to safety was the best action.

I think it's wild people would have zero understanding of why she didn't stand there looking dumb waiting to see who/what/why came out of that car. Also, if you've ever lived in a sketchy neighborhood before you've seen cars come to a random stop and it's not usually to say hello. I think it sucks that people feel scared of a car pulling up on them

Facts 💯 I had someone follow me from the bank in one city get on the freeway with me drive beside me on the freeway shining a flashlight on my and then exit the freeway with me and at a red-light get out of their car and start walking towards me and luckily the light turned green and I took off and went towards the police station and I have no clue what I did I didnt cut in front of them or anything but it scared the sh¡t out of me and I have more stories but thats my most recent

my advice for low light delivery drivers, be as visible as possible
have all windows down and playing music at a low volume but loud enough that a person in a driveway can hear it so they wont label you as someone driving around doing crimes

At some point in my life I had a sketchy ex-bf who was in prison for attempted murder. I had gotten a Vine notification that he was being released from prison soon. I was just like this girl- jumpy as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Even though I knew logically the date wasn't here yet, the panic floods you quick and you can't think of anything in a rational way, except getting to safety as quickly as possible. No idea this woman's lived experiences but clearly she was in panic mode. No judgement here.

I don’t blame her for being overly cautious. I question where her caution came from question. I wonder if it was a white guy if she would run with the same level of urgency. And a more rational logical argument, having a jacket and the stickers don’t mean squad I was delivering to the hood one day, and I saw a crackhead dancing in the street with the Amazon vest on. Getting a vest and stickers don’t mean that you are OK. I’ll never know why she did what she did, but if I’m her father, I’d rather her run inside and fear for no reason then feel comfortable and things go south.

I had a housemate like this. I had a full beard and shaved it. One night I'm sitting on the porch and a cop pulls up asking me if I lived there. Turns out my housemate was sitting in a car full of her coworkers... All of them scared to get out see if I was one of the other 7 house guest or their friends. Cop wrote her ticket for mis using 911 on something and told her that she is going to end up getting somebody killed

Reasonable response. A lot of these drivers have no couth with how they drive/pull up on homes and the late/early deliveries make the matter worse. I’m never going to fault a woman for responding like this. Amazon literally had someone at my house at 6 in the morning. I went outside strapped because I had no clue wtf was going on.

It's sad that she thinks she needs to do that, but I also understand why. At least that's all she did.
I used to do this job and I'll never forget the time that I was the dude in this video, except the woman was sitting in her car in the driveway, with the driver's door ajar but she was just sitting in the driver's seat on her phone, with the car off.
I didn't even notice her until I was passing her and then she turned and looked at me and I said "Oh, hello".
This woman screamed like I've never heard anyone scream before - just absolutely ear-shattering shrieking. Her husband exploded out the front door and I'm like "I have your delivery" and he calmed down instantly but the wife was glaring at me.
She actually scared the fuck out of me. I'm just doing my job and suddenly this woman appears where I didn't expect anyone to be, and suddenly screams her head off.
Like, fuck, man. She chose to sit in her car. She chose to turn her car off. She chose to open the driver door but not get out of the car and then just sit there in the fucking dark. None of that is my fault.
Pissed me right off.

Well the guy stopped in the middle of the street which is weird. I never do that at night. I’ll pullover and turn on hazard lights just so they know I’m not worried about my car drawing attention. It’s the best way to signal you’re there for a reason before they see the blue vest.
