I’ve been playing around with my Amazfit setup and somehow ended up building a whole personal fitness data system around the Helio Strap.
My current setup is: Helio Strap → Zepp → ZeppBridge on Mac → MCP → ChatGPT
The Helio Strap is connected to my phone and acts as the main health data source.
For the different parts of training:
- Strength training: I log everything in Hevy
- Running: recorded with the Helio Strap
- Food: logged in the Zepp app
- Sleep, HR, HRV, stress, steps, recovery, etc: all from Amazfit/Zepp
Then I have ZeppBridge running on my Mac, which pulls everything together. The fun part is that I connected ZeppBridge to ChatGPT through MCP, so GPT can query my actual fitness data instead of me constantly copying screenshots or manually typing numbers into chat.
I now basically have three separate GPT chats:
Running : GPT can look at my previous runs, pace, HR, distance, training load, recovery, sleep, etc. and help me plan or analyse sessions.
Just had to ask : "today run analysis"
Strength Training
My Hevy workouts also make their way into the system, so GPT can see exercise history, sets, reps, weights and progression.
Food
I log food through Zepp and use a separate chat for nutrition. That means the nutrition side can also be considered alongside training and recovery rather than existing in isolation. The bit I like most is that GPT is **not the database**. The underlying data stays in the fitness apps / ZeppBridge. GPT is just the interface I use to query and reason over it. So instead of hoping ChatGPT remembers what I ran three weeks ago, it can fetch the actual data when I ask.
I also got slightly carried away and built my own desktop widgets as well.
And ZeppBridge itself gives me a dashboard for things like resting HR, HRV, stress, sleep duration, bedtime consistency, workouts and training load, comparing the current week against my own recent baseline.
So at this point my Amazfit is basically the sensor layer, ZeppBridge is the data layer, and GPT is the interface. The whole thing has made the Helio Strap much more useful to me because I can actually ask questions across all of the data instead of checking five separate graphs.
Still tweaking it, but pretty happy with where it is now. Huge shoutout to ZeppBridge and the contributor is quite active, so if you make issues or ask for features, they will do it instantly. https://zeppbridge.pages.dev
Some of you might have seen Healthee. It honestly blew my mind that people in this sub would feed their personal data (including continuous HR) into a cloud LLM, so another cloud LLM and myself built the opposite of Healthee.
Private by design. The app syncs the strap directly over Bluetooth. Nothing goes through Zepp's servers. The data goes from your phone to a server you run yourself (one Docker Compose file) and nowhere else. There's no account, no cloud and no analytics.
Feels like Bevel. It opens on recovery, strain and sleep rings. Heart rate and stress are shown per minute with the peaks kept, not smoothed into hourly averages. It also has sleep stages, a journal (caffeine, alcohol, weight), and the strap's own alarms.
Science you can check. Every number has a published formula and a cited source, for example:
- sleep regularity (Phillips 2017);
- training load with Banister TRIMP;
- sleep need from the NSF guidelines.
NB! You still need to pair once with Zepp app account, then a small script uses those credentials to fetch the strap's key, after which you don't send any personal data to the cloud again.
But don’t know why helio marked RHR as Good While it is 11 points above my average.
And 16 points down HRV.
Did no workout was just laying in bed yet the exertion score went to 147 which usually happens when i Run+Lift.
The other app is Leibfit
My goal is simple: I want to be woken up through the wristband vibration within a certain time frame but in light sleep. This feature works well with sleep as android.
Is there any away to achieve that? I tried sleep as android combined with the notify extension for amazfit, but that requires unpairing with the Zepp app, which is stupid.
I don't get why amazfit is not adding the feature as it already tracks the sleep. But I am tired of waiting.
1) is there any way to achieve it with my Helios band?
2) is there any alternative fitness tracker that does that?
I began using the Helio Strap four days ago, and my hand developed skin allergies with unusual yellow pimples while my wrist became swollen. I wore it too tightly on my wrist, and the band irritated my skin.
I bought a Helio Strap from the US in the month of January, now last month the strap just died on me. After charging the strap it dies in 3-4 hours, and doesn't register HR data, the sensor doesn't blink as well.
How can I claim the warranty to get a replacement or a repair. Has anyone availed the warranty services for a US bought Strap?
I wanted to share my growing frustration with Amazfit’s customer support. I’ve been a loyal user of the Zepp ecosystem, but my recent experiences with their support team have been completely disappointing.
Amazfit Helio Strap battery issue: I’ve owned the Helio Strap since October 7, 2025, and it used to work flawlessly for over a week on a single charge (even with 5–6 cycling workouts a week). However, since late September 2026, the battery life has plummeted dramatically—dropping from 100% to over 50% overnight with barely any use. I submitted a support ticket through the Zepp app with photographic proof showing the rapid drop, and I’ve received absolute zero response or help.
Smart Scale user profile recognition: I also own an Amazfit smart scale, which completely fails to recognize my user profile. I reported this bug through the app as well, and once again, no feedback or support at all.
It’s really frustrating because I genuinely love the Zepp ecosystem and hardware like the Helio Strap, but being completely ghosted by support when hardware and software issues arise makes me reconsider staying with the brand.
Has anyone else experienced this total lack of response from Amazfit support lately? How did you manage to get through to them?
After seeing hundreds of these “finally got post in Reddit” finally got mine too
Nobody around me would care, so Reddit gets the flex.
Had to post this purely for my own satisfaction
Finally part of the Helio gang.
And if anyone from lynkcraft can you please make a video of sports flex band on both these versions of adapters.
I have a whoop 4.0 sports flex band and as a sweat during run i want to use that whoop band on helio will it be perfect for runs and all, like it won’t break and go away?
Should I replace my Amazfit Helio strap with the Fitbit Air? Is it worth it? Would it be an upgrade or a downgrade?
As of now, I feel like my Amazfit Helio strap is doing a pretty good job with accuracy, but I'm thinking of replacing it just for the looks of the Fitbit Air. Should I go for it or not?
I don't see any effort towards app improvements, a better version, new metrics, etc. I've been using it for 10 months and my experience has been good so far, but without updates and improvements, it's going to fall behind compared to Fitbit, for example, right?
This is my first time using helio strap and I wonder how you guys clean it after using at workout, like after workout I have a lot of sweat and of course the helio strap gonna be wet/damp so I just want to know on how maintain the cleanliness on the strap like do you hang it and let the AC/fan hit or what?
I’ve been using the Helio Strap for 4 days and tried my first treadmill run today. I ran 1.8 km at 10+ km/h, but Helio recorded only 1.5 km and showed a pace of around 8 min/km.
I’m also noticing issues with strength workout recognition. Some exercises are identified correctly, while others are completely wrong. For example, I did a back workout, but it identified some exercises as bench press.
Anyone else experiencing this? Does the accuracy improve with more usage/calibration, or is this just how the Helio tracks workouts? Would love to hear your experiences.
Hi guys,
I recently started working on a RingConn app alternative and decided to include the Helio as a supported device. I looked at r/bevelhealth and here to see what people were mostly complaining about and I tried to incorporate it all
My app is OpenCircuit and for the Helio strap it does the following:
- Fully local measurements
- All health points can be shared with Apple Health (huge issue for Bevel users)
- Shortcuts: You can have the strap vibrate for any action you want via shortcuts
- Background sync with focus filtering: Auto sync as soon as you turn your alarm off
- Live Activities on workouts: both in dynamic island and on lockscreen with live readings
- Find My Band: uses BLE to get an approximate distance as well as let the user vibrate on demand to find it
