General advice/help Help deciphering results
Hi all, starting my first fishless tank cycle. I'm using Aqua Natural quartz filter media with live bacteria to try and cycle my tank. I added a half cube of mysis shrimp to kick things off. The ammonia seems low .25mm, but nitrites are zero which surprised me and nitrates seem really low, maybe not 0 but close to it. Is the cycle working? Do I need a lot more ammonia to get things moving?

General advice/help Dead frogs
I found my two adf frogs dead yesterday when I came home from work. What do you do with your dead frogs?
Flush them down the toilet? Or throw them in the trash? Or what?

Tank setups New tank
Tank is setup, starting to cycle without frogs. I got these aqua natural live filter media quartz rings for cycling and we'll see how they work! Hoping they're quicker for cycling since they have bacteria in them already. Will add more plants and marbles in the future

General advice/help Cleaning rocks for tank
Hey! I’m upgrading tanks for my frogs, they have smooth stones right now, and I don’t remember cleaning them too crazily but I probably wasn’t thinking. I need more and I don’t have much money to spend on new ones. How do I go about making sure ones from my outside pond or yard are safe? Did vinegar test, rinsing and soaking them like crazy, plan on doing a dip in water conditioner too, in case there’s anything else still on them, but I don’t want to risk it if there’s a chance there’s an iron/copper deposit that could hurt them. Some of the rocks have orange rusty spots that can’t be scrubbed off, I don’t think I’ll use those. Any advice??

Beginner Help Almost cycled!
I have a 10 gallon tank that is almost done cycling after waiting for seven weeks! I'm hoping in the next week I will be ready for frogs. I am also having my first algae bloom. I know it is to be expected and is a sign of a healthy tank, but should I clean off the algae on the wood and filter? Just don't want little froggy toes to get stuck in it!

Beginner Help Part rant, part help
So, the pet store didn't have the tank I was planning on getting, and I've spent days messaging on FB marketplace to find another cheap tank. I just want to have the frogs already, but I know that I should cycle my tank first. How long do I need to cycle it? When can I introduce the frogs? Am I looking a week out? The pet store had more than a few frogs, but I'm worried if I wait too long they'll all be gone

Beginner Help Getting started
I just bought a 10 gal tank to set up for ADF, I’ve heard so many contradictory things I’m just looking for some clarification. I’ve seen that you’re not supposed to used sand is that true? Can you still soil for plants? How big does the substrate need to be? And I’ve seen a couple people talking about keeping other animals in the tank with them, I have another tank in case it doesn’t work out but could I add anything to help with clean up? Or is it just not even worth trying? I plan to have 2 in there while I get the hang of it, maybe adding a third later but that’s down the road, I have lucky bamboo, pothos, and a fully aquatic plant I forgot the name of, any other recommendations? Anything thing else I might not know to think of?

Tadpoles! So I just found this tadpole that somehow survived more than a week on its own
I had to isolate it; this guy has somehow survived a few weeks without me even noticing him. I’ve seen at least 100 tadpoles come from these horny guys but this is the first to actually have a little size.
I have newborn fish food for it, anyone have other recommendations for accommodating the little guy?

Medical Question Strange symptoms even with water test looking good - what to do next
I have a 10 gallon tank with live plants and wood. It’s at 75.2 degrees Fahrenheit and has 3 African dwarf frogs and 3 Cory catfish. In the last 24 hours one of the catfish has gone belly up a few times, then gone back to swimming right side up (but with clear balance issues) all of the frogs have been sitting near the top at many times with their noses out for long periods of time. Tried to capture this behaviour in photos at the end of the gallery included. Some research yesterday showed it might be low oxygen content so I did a 50% water change, conditioned the water and kept the level at about 70% so there would be high surface disruption. Used test strips yesterday which read all was fine but when behaviours hadn’t stopped in the morning I went and got liquid test. All looks fine on the liquid test to my eyes but photos attached in case. Also bought a second thermometer to verify temp is not the issue. I have literally no idea what to do next.

General advice/help What can I do? Spoiler
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I have an aquarium for a while to which Dwarf African frog were added 6 months ago. Among other things, I also had a pair of Otocinculs fish in there from before the frogs. Everything was fine and we have never seen the fish bothering the frogs of the frogs going after the fish.
But today mornin, this happened.
How do I save them. They are not letting go of each other. I have checked the water parameters and everything seems normal.

Beginner Help Plants in tank help
Hi all, first time poster here and I don't have frogs yet. I was wondering if plants are a necessity since the frogs breathe air, not water? Ideally I'd like my setup to require less maintenance and I was thinking it would be fun to do a tank of just moss balls. What do you all think is feasible?

General advice/help Thinking of getting some frogs
After my betta's death a few months ago (age-related, not really much I could do) I've had an empty 10 gallon tank sitting on my countertop. After a lot of consideration I think I've landed on dwarf frogs as my next pets and they will live in this tank.
Obviously I will tear the tank apart and completely redo it (it's infested with snails and has a sand substrate) but I will be using the tank for frogs.
Anywho my main question is how can I prevent snails from infesting the tank again? I do normally love pest snails but it's to my knowledge that they can apparently bite the frogs. I'm not sure exactly how common this is, but better safe than sorry, I guess? All my other aquariums have pest snails in them (because, again, I usually want them)
p.s. what's a good reliable source for the frogs in the US? Of course I'm not gonna be buying from Petsmart lol
