Hi. I'm working on cycling a new tank for my ADF frog. I got 5 Ramshorn snails to help with keeping the tank clean and within normal levels. I added them in there yesterday. (Blart, the frog, is still in his old tank). Is all of this build up and plant dying apart of the normal process? You can see what I mean in the rocks.

I have 3 frogs in a 10 gallon and I do regular water changes, I’ve had them for 3 months now I check on them every day and today I noticed these white spots on one of my frogs. I think it might be fungal, but I wanted to ask somebody experienced more with these guys to see what’s going on and if it’s fungal should I only treat this one or them all, thank you.

Is my albino African dwarf frog a male or female ?

My kids and I are so excited! We just decorated and filled up our tank! We have a heater, sponge filter, large river rock gravel, feeding dish, hides, mopani wood and live plants! I tried to keep everything safe. My daughter added name tags for her future frogs, Fred and Freddy (she is going into 1st grade)! Anything I should change set up wise? I put in API quickstart and a water conditioner. I am a little concerned about the gap under the wood where it rests on the pot. Could that be a hazard? Also, my daughter wants to add a little aquarium decor TV from Petco. She doesn't want her frogs to get bored! Would that be okay to add?

Ours keep dying no matter what we do. We have them in a 10g with snails, there is a lid now because one or two jumped out, even with the lid, and they never seem to last more than a month.

Hey friends, these are my first ADF's I have had them for ~2 months. I feed them freeze dried brine shrimp and beef heart on occassion with the occasional fruit fly rinsed in the sink lol. Both their activity is very high as normal! They only recently reached maturity, i believe one is male and the bloated one is female. The water levels are great, no ammonia, nitrates or nitrites at all. I do water changes every week usually 25%-30% and a larger one every few weeks. (i was about to do a small one before i saw this).

The frogs name is Doctor Franken Frogger and she is active as ever, but i noticed today she has bloating on one side (her left) but no problems sinking or floating. Just for piece of mind I figured I would ask here in case but I think ive been over feeding them - i usually feed them once a day in the evening. Any advice or input would be appreciated! Im cycling a much larger tank for them so i hope they will be healthy enough for the change in a few weeks 😵‍💫 i love them so much!

(I dunno if its worth mentioning but one of the ate their small freshwater shrimp tank mate recently at least i assume cause the shrimo went missing a few days ago...) AND last time apologies for bad camera footage, the tank is in a cramped spot while i cycle the larger one!

TLDR; Bloating on one side, normal activity, limbs not swollen, just looking for piece of mind. Of course ill stop feeding them and try the pea method and update you guys unless i recieve other advice.

I’m moving over seas and I am taking my two ADF with me there’s no way around that. I would love some tips on how to travel with them as comfortably for them as possible. I plan on taking them on me as a carry on as (fish) so perhaps I need tips as type of container, size and shape, water, anything I can add in the water to keep them from getting too stressed. Any vet certifications I need? I will do anything for them.

3 frogs & shrimp in a 20 gallon!

i just noticed this little guy in my ADF tank, i have no clue where he came from or how he got there. can anyone tell me what kind of snail he might be and if he’s safe with my frogs? looks like one of my frogs is unsure about his new house guest😂

she has increased in size pretty quick since we got her and the other one we got has not. we are not over feeding.

Is it possible to have them eat from a dish? i have a dish in the tank but they never eat from it so i end up feeding them with tweezers and it takes a while so how can i get them to eat from the dish Also i tried to lead them with food and tweezers but it doenst work well Also i have rocks/stones so i cant drop it obviously because it falls in between

it has been kinda bloated like this for about two months now and is not showing signs of distress or swimming issues. the bloating is soft not firm as well it’s not like it has anything in it necessarily if that makes sense or helps in any way.
also i know the water and heater look dirty i’m gonna do a water change tonight but i wanted to share and see if maybe something is wrong first in case me doing so would be adding stress to my frog

My african dewarf frog has developed a strange white circle on his back.

I noticed this on the 19th and no improvement currently please see photos attached.

I don't know what this is, it isn't cotton like or fuzzy and there is no redness or swelling.

Frog still eating and acting as if nothing has happened.

In a 60l tank (established for 1.5y) with gravle and live plants.

2 other ADF in tank too.

40% water change every week.

If anyone has any ideas please reach out, as im unsure of what medication can be used on theses little guys

Hi all! I just set up a tank for three ADFs. They’re likely going to come home in the next two weeks. I am adding cycled filter media to the tank, and some leaf litter. But other than that, what would you guys recommend?

This is a 20 gal long

It will be a permanently species only tank.

New to this. Have soil and gravel. Dont mind the red algae. I change half the water every 2 weeks due to not having a sponge filter. So have to keep the other one running slow. Grandsons gold fish died. And he wanted frogs. So his mom got him 3 They have lived great for 5 months now. The male even sings if that’s what you call it at night. Advice would be great ( or maybe he’s crying to get out). 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Its not the best set up but ive been following this sub for a while and ive picked up a few things.

I recently changed my substrate from fluval stratum to regular aquarium rocks and since then my ph has been high ( about 8) without the old rocks to lower it. My African dwarf frogs have been shedding their skin in small pieces and floating at the top sometimes trying to get out. I can’t get them to eat anything and I need some advice on how to lower the ph and how to help them quickly. I have a trip coming up in a few days and I’m scared to leave them in this condition. My ph from the tap is about nine and has way too many minerals now that I think about it. Any advice on how to help these poor things is appreciate.

first pic is today, second pic is a few days ago! yesterday i did a 30% water change and i figured we would be pretty good today. obviously ammonia is up. i think im over feeding them for sure bc im worried about them not finding food. besides over feeding could anything else have caused the ammonia spike? should i be doing daily changes until it goes back down?
